well. it's more or less been schrodinger's wip over the past four months in that it both exists and doesn't exist until i actually open the word doc to work on it. the good news is i opened the word doc and it lives.

what is it "about"? good question. the idea of hollywood broadly. the artificiality of celebrity relationships. kind of a meta-commentary on fiction and characterization. i'm breaking new records for pretentiousness.

in sum: max and charles are both movie stars, the movie industry sucks in a lot of ways but i watched too many movies from the 50s when i was a child and i love it anyways, support sag aftra, pretend the oscars are a meritocracy, don't worry about the logistics of film production. god willing it will be done soon.

would u ever write a follow up oneshot of charles and max in 2023 season? especially coz it was historic for max!

probably not, honestly. i’m satisfied with where i left that charles and max and i don’t think a follow-up would add much in terms of character or plot— i just don’t have anything interesting to Say!

i’m not writing off the possibility completely but something would have to really Compel Me and while i had a lot of fun watching max obliterate 2023 it did not provide a lot of narrative inspiration.

the thing about the popemobile is it’s very slow so i’m quite easy to catch. i have not actually stopped writing f1 fics the movie star au is still very much open in a word doc on my computer 🫡

alas the combination of “slowest writer ever” and “easily distracted by shiny things” have not made for consistent progress. might i suggest getting freakishly invested in tennis? like really caring a not normal amount about it. strongly recommend it’s great.
