Hey there! Thank you for your question! We have a parent collection under the same name as the blog (if anyone wants to take a peak at earlier contributions) and each year we add a subcollection for people to post into (usually the name of the event plus the year). Excited to see your fic be added to the hoard :D

If we are debating writing multiple stories, when do we need to decide that by?

Hey there! If you already know you want to write multiple stories, you can put that under the additional info question at the end of the sign up form. At the latest you'd need to submit the first writer check in multiple times (one for each fic with the 1k due) & put in the additional info section how many stories you're writing so we don't think you accidentially send in a form twice.

Just additional info: the 25k minimum counts for each individual fic and each needs to be completed by its individual posting date in august so it's def no small challenge writing more than one story

Sorry if it’s already been asked, but what does being a beta reader involve?

Hey there! Glad you're thinking about joining us as a beta. What that looks like depends on two factors:

A - the type of beta you want to be (more detailed here) B - what the writer and you (in the beta role) agree would help them best as a feedback style

So there's no universal beta-ing process. Typically you'd sign up as one of the types, join the discord and either a writer in need of one would contact you in the beta-channels to ask if you're willing/able to work with them or we'd (the mods) contact you to ask if you're avaible to beta for a writer that reached out to us (this is rare but sometimes we do it if they're issues with a writer's previous beta).

I hope this helped giving you (and maybe other people who are interested) more of a general idea<3

Is there a way to sign up as a cheerleader like there was previously?

Cheerleader in the term of supporting a specific writer with encouragement falls under the beta duties. If however by cheerleader you mean spectator on discord that unfortunately isn't allowed. This is because we are trying to keep the server focused on the event, only active participants (writers, artists, and beta readers) can join.

what happens if we finish the 25k goal, but the fic itself isn’t finished?

25k is the minimum! You're more than welcome to write more than that. The requirementd for writers are that it's a fic that's complete by the posting date in august and at least 25k long
