Aphasia sneak peak please 😭tell me you're going to finish it!

Sweet and kind anon, not only am I going to finish Aphasia (in good time!) but it's not even close to done 😉

Thanks for sticking with me though, sadly work (shocking, I know) is the trenches right now and keeping me from writing as much as I'd wanted to, but the next few days I should have the chapter up! But for now, a PG preview from The Club Scene™:

The second that the couple’s backs are turned, George’s arm is back around Matty’s waist, his thumb pressing into the soft spot above his hip. Matty takes a little stumble forward at being pulled in so suddenly, and George reaches out for his glass as though he might spill it.  “Steady,” he says warmly, leaning into Matty’s ear to mumble the word. Matty makes a small sound in the back of his throat that is thankfully buried under the deep, steady house beat the DJ is mixing. Matty is notably anything other than steady.  George smiles and moves his hand up to the nape of Matty’s neck, squeezing gently. “You’re not enjoying yourself?” he asks innocently, with a smile that is anything but.  “I just can think of things I’d rather be doing,” Matty mutters, turning his head til his nose bumps George’s cheek.  “Oh-oh,” George says, laughing, scanning around to see if anyone is paying them any mind. He catches a glimpse of Adam sitting on a barstool, dissociating, but otherwise no one seems to be coherent enough to focus on anything at all. “What things?” Matty exhales, shifting on his feet.  “George,” he says, warningly.  “George Things?” George laughs, fully smirking.  “Obviously,” Matty retorts, throwing back the last sip of his drink. “Please, I’m ready to go.” George squeezes his neck once more, sending a shock of warmth downwards through Matty’s body, and ruffles his hair. “Have to finish my drink first, love, then we can head out.”  Matty looks at the completely full tumbler of bourbon in his hand and sighs again. Even so, he doesn’t ignore the wash of golden happiness finding its way into his swimming head despite his exasperation.  “I’m not necking this, Matty,” George warns. Matty covers his hand on the glass with his own, like he wants George to pass it to him to finish. Matty never even drinks bourbon, but he’d drink almost anything with this much on the line. George snorts incredulously, looking at their hands. “And you’re not, either.” Matty drops his hand at his side dejectedly, shoulders slumping. George makes a point of raising the glass to his lips and taking a miniscule sip, acting like he’s really savouring whatever middle-shelf notes are to be discovered in the liquor. It’s hard to keep manufactured annoyance in his stare, though, because Matty gets a bit transfixed by the way George’s throat looks and how his necklace really does suit him. His jawline looks so angular and his nose is so perfect and his lips are tempting, and there’s plenty of George Things Matty’s suddenly stuck on -

My fave 75 fic? That’s really hard! Got to be one of my bestie @drinkurkombucha’s. Basically over the pandemic I became obsessed with her writing, then we became pals and she forced me to start writing Gatty fic and then the past two years happened haha! She is responsible!

Everything she touches is gold but my fave is this because it’s so meta and so hilarious - every time I got an update of this I devoured it in a hysterical mess! Matty’s talking cock is a minor character, and I know how that sounds but believe me- it’s absolute genius! I loved it so much that I press-ganged her and we created a whole multiverse out of it with some of my characters and hers that was utterly deranged but the BEST fun! I’m also a sucker for this and its sequel this

If you prefer straight fic, my other very good mate @red---moon’s work is stellar, @imagine-that-100 can write reader-insert in a way I never could and it’s much loved, @applesfallingfromblondehair basically made Ratty her own and I‘ve also been loving trumanblacc’s stuff recently on AO3 here
