This month in Multimedia Adaptation, I made the journey of developing one of my flash fictions into a comic strip. This was an interesting journey for me as I have wanted to know how to do comic strips. One of my other projects I have wanted to turn it into a comic strip or an animation series. This class helped me make one more step towards that goal. During this adaptation process I had to bring to life a battle between a Psychic profiler with the power of mental projection and a psychic that is a sociopath with the powers of hydrokinesis. I’m still working on developing the hydrokinesis power and putting it into the comic. This particular battle between the two was held in Amira’s mind, so I didn’t want to incorporate it as much because it was fantasy. I wanted the more horror aspect while in her mind. I want to continue to develop this story line between the two psychics. One of the hardest things was limited the dialogue and not really having the time to go into the back story to explain what happened that lead up to this. I have a complete time line in my head. It continues to move me towards this becoming a television series for me to really develop the characters. This month gave me a lot of insight into what I want for not only this project but another as well. It was a month of discovery.

This mobile game has been highly popular as a home decorating game that you can do from your phone. This game also has a secondary feature that adds to it  popularity. If there is a particular furniture item that you like from the game you can click on the link and it takes you to the brands website where you can buy the actual piece. Most of the pieces in the game are actual furniture pieces that are available for purchase making it a great mixture of entertainment and marketing tool.

This game was created as a promotional tool for the movie Golden Eye: 007. The game was highly popular and end up doing more sales than the movie it was titled after.

M&M wanted a new concept to help stimulate interest in their new M&M Pretzels. So they introduced this game, mixing their brand with gaming and it worked. Interest increased in the brand and their presence on Facebook.

My Pilot Webisode Journey
I must say this last month has been a joy for me. Creating an animation script for Jerry Bear has been very enjoyable and something I want to continue developing. This goes hand and hand with my desires as a writer. I miss old fashioned, Saturday morning cartoons. I built Jerry Bear with the intention of tapping into that feeling. I miss the cartoons that had mischievous fun, but at the same time taught some type of life lesson in humility and kindness. Jerry Bear is my attempt at hopefully bringing that back.
This experience has been a little different from previous scriptwriting experiences for me because I have never written an animation script before. I have terrible writers block sometimes. It’s like I can see the direction I want to go in my head, but I have a terrible time getting it onto paper. It was no different with Jerry Bear. Writing for live action figures vs animation is different for me. With animation the possibilities are endless. With live action characters you are limited to what is possible for an actor to be able to do. I know technology has changed with CGI and other special effects, but you still have to be conscious of the limitations.
I can see myself developing Jerry Bear into cartoon series, but I don’t see myself creating cartoon series for a living. I passion is fantasy and mystical novels. That is what I plan on pursuing. I do have plans for how to continue with Jerry through the first season. His quest to discover the secret to the Great Spirit of the Forest. My plan to see Jerry Bear come to fruition is to put out feelers for animation or graphic art students. Maybe someone will be interested in developing this series with me. I have looked into software to help me create the series myself, but they still are based on your ability to draw. I can copy most images, but I have trouble creating freely from my head. Overall this was a great experience for me, and I really enjoyed this class. It gave me a positive note to look forward to in the future of my career.
