A series of short films has been produced in Cornish (with English subtitles).
I know Tumblr loves a Celtic language, so please show these some love, and then maybe more media will get produced yn Kernowek.

When you first start learning a language the meaning of all of the words that you learn depend entirely on the equivalent word in a language you speak, and without that word to give it a meaning it would just be a random sound to you, but later on you don’t need that equivalent word for the new words you’ve learned to have meaning anymore and they just exist on their own in your brain without attachment to any other languages and I think that that’s my definition of fluency, when the words stop depending on another language for meaning in your mind

THE DAY OF LANGUAGES!!!
This 7th of May, 2024, we use our own language again!
If your language, native or not, is something other than English, on May 7th you can speak that language all day!
You’ll blog in your chosen language(s) all day: text posts, replies, tags (except triggers and organizational tags).
Regardless of what language people choose to speak to you, you can answer in your own.
Non-verbal, non-written languages (like sign language, dialects, otherwise non-written languages) are more than welcome! See my FAQ for tips
English native speakers can participate in any other language they're studying/have studied/know.
The tag is gonna be #Speak Your Language Day or #spyld for short.
Please submit me some language facts for me to share on this day <3

there’s a category of verbs in french called verbes défectifs and while it just means that they dont have complete conjugations, i cant help but imagine a verb factory where this sometimes happens:
factory worker 1: i have made an Impersonal Verb
factory worker 2:  you fucked up a perfectly good verb is what you did. look at it. it’s only got a 3rd person singular conjugation

you're getting distracted again. focus.
drink a cup of water, tie your hair up, pull on your comfiest clothes, get your desk clean and ready, print out past papers, set your notes out, turn your laptop on, turn off all distractions, take out your stationary, open your books, take a deep breath, and just start.

An bhfuil aon aistriúcháin do 'banger' as Gaeilge? M.sh. 'banger tweet' nó 'this song is a banger'? Go bunúsach, is é an aidiacht do an-mhaith ach níos déine? Mar an-an-mhaith tomhaisim

Dia duit! Can you recommend any Irish speaking youtubers? I mean "normal" content like vlogs, diy, gaming etc (i'm not picky). I already follow quite a few channels focused on language learning but I would love some more exposure to natural language in that context if that makes sense? GRMMA!
I think Foil, Arms and Hog have a couple of sketches with Irish in? And Clisare has definitely done videos as Gaeilge. But other than that I can’t help. I don’t really watch YouTube other than the odd time. On Instagram I enjoy SeamBoySeam and Gaylegeoiri but I don’t think they do what you’re looking for.
Anyone?

A map of indigenous languages in Argentina. There's about one million native people in Argentina (probably undercounted).

This St Patrick’s Day why not take a look at my lists of Irish creators and media and find something you enjoy?
If there’s someone or something you think I’m missing or want to highlight, especially if they create art as Gaeilge or about marginalised Irish experiences, feel free to share!
