Symptoms of Tourette Syndrome that’s not tics

While you do need tics to have Tourette’s, it is not the only symptom it can cause. Some other symptoms it can cause are:

- rage

- obsessive compulsive behavior

- sensory issues

- attention difficulties

- anxiety

- need for sense of control

These are not the only symptoms of TS and as I said before you need tics to have Tourette’s but it can cause these other symptoms

He propped an elbow on the table, putting his chin in his hand (his stupid, tapping, rubbing, shaking hand) then looked away. His other hand bounced in his lap. “Reki,” Oka spoke again. There was a familiar edge to his voice, the kind of edge Reki heard every time Oka tried talking about feelings, ugh. “What’s up?” “Nothing,” he grumbled, a slew of cooing following the word. He sounded so stupid. His fingernails gripped his thigh, pinching angrily. It hurt like hell. He couldn’t stop.

“Ritsu-kun?”

Still, nothing. He was definitely worried now. As much as Ritsu may dislike him, he was still always polite and wouldn’t just blatantly ignore him like this. Maybe he was sick or something? Arataka craned his neck, scanning him for possible injuries.

And that’s when he noticed the blood.

“Holy crap! Ritsu, you’re bleeding!” he exclaimed, fumbling out of his seat and running to him. It looked even worse up close. Blood coated both his hands like a second skin, and speaking of skin, his looked pretty torn up.

No response.

Now that he was closer, Arataka could hear his very quiet, almost sporadic breathing. Shoot. Something was really wrong.

summary:

Something was really wrong with Reki.

It took Kojiro longer than he’d like to admit to see that it was worse than he thought.

At first, he brushed Reki’s odd behavior off as some form of coping after his beef with Adam—he couldn’t blame him, Kaoru had acted weirdly after his beef too. Kojiro, Kaoru, and Hiromi (who was, thankfully, out of the hospital at the time) sat Reki down a couple days after the race and gave him the “it’s okay to not be okay” talk (they didn’t want to overwhelm him immediately after the race).

And Reki did what he always did—he smiled cheekily and told them he was fine.

Sure, “fine”. But Kojiro had been a kid once too—a stupid reckless kid who buried himself in skating and covered his feelings with thick fog, so he didn’t push it.
