Tomione Professor/student au: Moodboard
Like a snake sheds its skin, he was capable of getting rid of assembled habits, creating space to call matters into question. Instead of the Shakespearian “ To be or not to be” he favoured ” to become or not to become”.
He was incredibly handsome. You could have never realized before how beautiful evil could be. But the truth remains the truth, no matter how sweet the lie may taste.

Chapter Twenty-Three: Wait and Hope
AO3 / FF.net
“All human wisdom is contained in these two words,” she recited in a whisper, heart beating a call to war within her chest. “Wait and hope.”
She closed her eyes, the last remnants of tears overspilling the corners and disappearing into her damp hairline.
It was then and there she decided… no matter the darkness ahead, she would venture bravely through, ever hopeful of finding the light on the other side.
And as she journeyed blind into the transient shadows, she would keep her wits and resolve, doing whatever it took to escape this grey purgatory…
Waiting for her time to strike.

Tom Riddle sketch. Not too happy with it. I got too crazy with shading and it got really dark and muddy but I need to get back into drawing if I’m ever going to get better. ARTIST RUTS are terrible and discouraging. WHY I can’t make people hot enough? hahahahaha. Modern day Tom, Head Boy. Loosely inspired by Nothing Like the Sun by @talloohlips. Fantastic fic, definitely recommend it. Read it here: https://archiveofourown.org/works/15707220/chapters/36506895

Chapter Twenty-One: White Rabbit
AO3 / FF.net
“They say only her legal guardian can release her.”
His blood percolated in his veins. “She’s eighteen.”
“But still a ward of the Commonwealth.”
He ran a hand over his face, forcing himself to switch gears once more, the tight pressure of the reins cutting off the circulation in his fingers.
“Who gains custody if her legal guardian is d-” He stopped short, wetting his lips. “If her guardian is indisposed?”
The guard shook his head. “I don’t know. You’d need to ask a solicitor or-”
Tom drew back swiftly, shoulders set.
“I’ll be back at nine.”
The guard blinked, taking a step back as well.
“I don’t doubt it.”

There’s something unnerving about Tom Riddle.
Hermione’s never quite been able to articulate just what it is about him that unsettles her so: after all, Riddle’s popular and charming and adored by Hogwarts staff and students alike. Still, she’d swear that there’s something lurking beneath that warmly polite veneer of his, something that lies in wait like a serpent in the dark.
But it’s not until her sixth year at Hogwarts, when she rashly confronts him over an unprecedented act of violence, that the full force of Riddle’s chilling regard is abruptly and wholly turned on her.

Weird Tomione quotes #4
Tom: Hermione, my new name is Voldemort.

Hermione [with fake astonishment]: Come again? Voldy-what?

Tom: I am Lord Voldemort. It’s an anagram.

Hermione: Wait, what anagram?
As in, Immoral Toddler?

Hermione: Ok, Tom - sorry, I mean,
Lordy-Voldy - I get it.

Tom [frustrated]: Damn! Just call me Tom.

Catching Evil
Dropping a teaser for the next chapter! You guys ready for a Tomione only chapter?
Woo, lets do this!
Tumblr media
“Why?” She was beginning to realize that her voice sounded foreign to her ears. Raspy and raw, as if she hadn’t used her vocals in months.
“Be more specific, Hermione,” Tom tsked softly at her while his eyes made short work of evaluating her physical health. “Why, what?”
“You know what.” She retorted tiredly.
“Do I?” His hands shifted with his speech, knuckles brushing gently up her cheek bones before his fingers slipped into her hair. “My, My, I am afraid you must jog my memory then.”
“You staged my guilt in the murder investigation,” Hermione pulled away from his hold, watching lazily as her hair slipped through his hold. “You kidnapped me.” She leaned back against the headboard, eyes closing as her head thumped against the wooden panel. “You had to know Harry would come looking for me.”
“No one is looking for you,” The purr lingering on his vocal cords gave her reason to pause. “I made sure of that.”

Just wanted to share a little project that I definitely shouldn’t be working on, but the idea won’t leave me alone. It’s a mess and unbeta’d and I’m not exactly sure where some of the plot lines are going, but I’m three chapters in, and if my outline is correct this should be about a ten ch fic. I’ll start posting once I’m close to finishing, but for now here’s a little snippet.
Her Charge | In which Hermione is tasked with traveling back to the past and assassinating Tom Riddle before he becomes too powerful, but finds herself becoming his guardian instead.
The orphanage doesn’t typically receive visitors at this hour.
He’s greeted by a frazzled Mrs Cole, and his sharp mind rapidly puzzles together the scene he arrives to.
Indeed, they have received a visitor this evening. What’s more, he’s confronted with a strange woman, but her presentation is quite the opposite than that of the woman he met earlier that day.
Where unruly brown curls had captured his attention before, it’s sleek, coiffed locks he sees now, styled and arranged in a smart twist. Her hair frames delicate features, and Tom can’t imagine her having business here. She wears a chocolate brown drop waist dress and high T-strap heels. She carries herself like she’s used to dishing out orders, and her expression is cool and bored.
“There must be some mistake,” Mrs Cole is saying, “I wasn’t informed of this.”

[Fic] Nothing Like the Sun
Chapter 19
“He’s…an archetypal villain in Slavic folklore,” Hermione said, gaining confidence as the details of the story came back to her. “A sort of evil wizard, I think. As his name implies, he’s effectively immortal—he can’t die because he hid his—hid his soul?—inside a series of objects on the mythical island of Buyan…”
“That’s correct,” said Lupin, still nodding along.
Hermione frowned. “Professor, what has a Muggle fairy tale got to do with—?”
Lupin stopped nodding and leaned forward in his chair, reaching out to give Hermione’s wrist a fleeting squeeze.
“Think about it, Hermione. Quite a lot of Muggle fairy stories and folktales have roots in Wizarding fact. Where would the Muggles have got the idea for a sorcerer who can’t die? A sorcerer who hid his soul inside an object?”
And as though someone had pricked a hole in them with a viciously sharp needle, all the air whooshed out of Hermione’s lungs.
