From where they were standing, they could see the other side of the street clearly; the fire was as huge as it was unexpected. Cisco watched Wally’s lighting around. He’d step in but his powers weren’t exactly the biggest help here so he just covered the sides, making sure nobody got hurt.
Seeing Max was distracting, he had to stop himself from asking how she was. Just get into the Vibe mode, Cisco. Vibe mode activated, in three two one – “Yes. You need to get out of this area, it’s not SAFE.”
What the hell. Central City was just as dangerous and insane as she remembered. She stared at the fire, her eyes wide. The lightning moved around the fire so fast, Max knew it had to be the Flash. Wowsers! This was hella exciting, and scary. She nodded her head. “I can do tha-” she’s cut off by the sound of something breaking, and seeing a part of the building on fire break and fall, or flung she can’t tell, across the street - about to hit the ground where people are.
She Rewinds, before it hits the ground, before she can see what happens to all those people, before their fate is set. Time set back to just after he told her she needs to get out of here. She doesn’t answer this time. She pointed, jabbing her finger in the direction of the people. “They’re in danger! You gotta move them!”

She wanted to make up for abandoning Chloe like she did, but the only way she could think of doing that, was to help Chloe find Rachel. But of course, she didn’t say any of that. “Nothing, don’t worry about it. I was just thinking, after we find Rachel, we could do something fun together. All three of us.”

Same scenario would play out. She was cornered and there was nowhere for her to run. Even if she did, she wouldn’t make it far before he caught up and grab hold.
“Playing dumb? Let me make myself a little more clear..You do have something, Miss Caulfield. You have your powers, and those powers are exactly why I bothered staying in this town.“
Fuck, fuck. How on Earth did he know about that? She hadn’t used those powers that much since Chloe --- she shook her head, not in denial of his statement, there’d be no point in that. It was more of denial of this whole situation, this whole world. She wished CHLOE was here - hell, even a surprise arrival from Mr. Madsen would be helpful. (she didn’t realise that it wouldn’t be.)
“So what?” she asked, sounding slightly braver than she actually was. Like Chloe... “I have powers. If you know about them, then you gotta know how much I fucked up with them.” She remembers the taste of salt in the air, the wind harshly blowing. She remembers it every night.

Max looked down at Rachels words. Yeah, that was a pretty dick move that Max had pulled, even if it wasn't intentional. But still, Max couldn't start making it up to Chloe if Chloe wouldn't even let her try. At least Chloe had Rachel here. Max didn't want to think about what it'd be like if Chloe had been alone.
