the same thing goes for bookmarks on AO3!!! do not critique people and talk shit in bookmarks. we can see it!!! it will make authors stop wanting to write free stories for fandoms.

I literally stopped writing 100% because someone did this. they went through all of my works and trashed me in the bookmarks. I didn’t write anything for like 5 years.

i actually think it's p disrespectful to reblog someone's fanwork with "#dumb fandom stuff" or "#[insert fandom] trash" or "sorryyy to my followers for posting cringe" or other things along those lines. like. someone cared enough about that to make it lol. and they can see your tags! not everyone feels shame over their interests or wants to have yours associated w their work!

from dean’s perspective “i need you’ is bigger than “i love you”. love is complicated but it’s direct, he could love someone without having them in his life. but need? dean “mr. dependent, guarded walls up so high, emotionally unavailable” winchester needing someone? thats huge. to need means to give them control. to need means i cant do this without you. love comes easy to dean but to genuinely need something and be selfish enough to ask for it? that goes against everything he’s been conditioned into believing.

Derek is for SURE a bitey wolf during sex. I mean you just know he’s biting and chewing and god help me LICKING at as much as he can get of stiles okay.

So imagine there’s a pack meeting and stiles has rushed out of bed and is running off 3 cups of coffee so far, because he’s ADHD ridden like me okay.

Anyway he shows up and everybody is staring at him and he’s all “take a picture it’ll last longer” before Scott makes a general indication towards his neck with wide eyes.

Stiles has a matching expression as he pulls out his phone for the camera and notices a few quite VIVID bruises staining his otherwise flawless skin all the way up his neck.

There’s a muffled laugh to be heard from the sofa, and everybody turns to see a usually sour wolf with a - dare I say smug - look on his face. Clearly proud of his work.

It’s the first time the pack has seen the grump’s frown upside down and everyone joins in laughing with him. Stiles is stood watching the whole scene in-front of him with a frown on his face, arms crossed over his chest in a way that shows he is in no way amused.

so crazy to see trends that started out cute shift to horrible so quick. I remember seeing a girl bind her favorite fic into a book because she loved it so much and she wanted a bound copy for herself and it was cool! she did all the work herself and she didn’t sell it. but now it’s like…a market.

do people not realize how dangerous this is? AO3 is free for a reason and it’s meant to be a dedicated fandom space

stop trying to profit off of work that’s not yours and stop trying to make fanfic such a public event. if this continues, writers are no longer going to put out free fics

Our fandom forbearers did NOT suffer through Anne Rice, strikethrough, and other bullshit for fucking ACOTAR and Harry Potter fans to fucking ruin it for all of us by selling fanfiction. I am not losing novel length yaoi epics because some of you don't know how to act in fannish spaces and yes I do blame the booktokification of fanfic but I also blame those of you that treat fandom like content to consume and not a community to engage with.

I love that how someone reacts to “[redacted] was a terrible friend to [redacted2]” tells me everything I need to know about them. it’s so funny to me, honestly. the idea that I may dislike how a character was written automatically opens me up for hate and worse is so utterly wild. God forbid we disagree about a person who doesn’t actually exist. if it’s that upsetting, block the poster and move on. there’s no need for that much venom. go outside, touch some grass, and take a nap.

also tbh a handful of these crazy ass arguments make me realize that some people have never had a true best friend in their life. like damn, do y’all treat people you love like that??? insane behavior imo.
