Five years today the first comic was uploaded! Honey is now 5!

The last year has been another quiet one for this blog. After the last anniversary I finished up posting the first ending of the comic in sketch form and behind the scenes I've started writing up the comic from scratch in a new format. There's no date for when HoneyDream Act 1 (equiv. to Ch.1+) will be released but the first draft for it is finished and I just need to edit it ready for posting. I'm looking forward to letting you all see it!

Thanks for all the support over the years and I hope you all enjoy what is still to come. I'll have more information to share soon. As always, thanks for reading! :D

Hi, it's been a while. This is a quick update to say that things are in the works for this blog and I have plans to post here again in the coming months with new things! Forewarning, these will not be comics.

Drawing comics as large as the ones on this blog is still not something I am able to do at the moment and will likely not be able to continue, period. Instead the story will be returning and (eventually) completed in a written format. The sketches here are some cover pictures for the first few chapters I've been planning, and I plan on drawing larger-scale panels like the above for every written chapter (possibly multiple?). I don't have a date or time-frame for when the chapters will be finished but I wanted to let you all know that I haven't forgotten about this blog and I really want to see this story through!

Hi there. So now that all of the sketches for the comic have been uploaded it is time for one final update. Currently I do not have time or immediate plans to continue this blog, and so I am putting it on an indefinite hiatus.

The continued story of ending Ch3 and then Ch4 that follows will be told in some form in the future, but for now I am leaving the comic at the conclusion of The Radiant Arc, which fortunately also acts as the first ending to the story anyway. Please trust that this is the best place to end things for now, with Honey's story now wrapped up and the next chapter not yet fully unfolded. Ch4 is fully planned for when the blog returns and a written side-story about the cameo Vessel named Kilter is drafted for when I have time to rewrite it.

This comic means a lot to me and the story I wanted to tell from the first upload until the end of Radiant Arc is also a very personal story. I hope that Honey's adventure so far was heard and I know that it will continue some day.

We think that without her light we wouldn’t have made it out of that dream. Our Dream Nail is a part of that exchange. Memories, light, history choice… We owe this to her as much as we do ourselves.

Hornet- With it there is method to take back the light that was lost.

Honey- If Honey can find her. We don’t know which minds the Radiant light would reach out to. The Hollow Knight has their share. Honey retains only a third of what remained. We must be aware and find that Radiance.

Honey- We have always been here and Honey is the mind we make together, and even so Honey is someone entirely different. They make the choices we cannot. We never meant to hide this from you. We just… didn’t understand ourselves. We forgot, we lacked context.

Hornet- Honey is not a fused mind of Luma and Argent together. Honey is a new mind born of existing voids, creating a new shade in their place. Honey… is Honey. Am I correct?

Comban- Where is Honey, if we aren’t speaking to them now? They aren’t… gone?

Honey- Honey is here, but still in memory. We, Luma and Argent, surface on this separation. We speak in Argent’s voice but our words are spoken together. We are one, for now.

Once Honey awakens from dream their mind will return and Honey will be as you know them. We will submerge again, in conscience. We believe Honey will remember us and what we said here, but we cannot be certain.

Honey- Broken. But we still feel it’s light within us. The King’s Brand is a part of Honey now. Part of their light, perhaps now a part of who they are. (!) Hornet. We- Honey is sorry for taking it- for stealing the King’s Brand. And on both accounts we apologise for trapping you in a Fracture for all that time.

Hornet- You have proven yourself worthy of the power the King’s Brand entrusts to you. Regardless of my thinking, we have found a future we can both ight for. My duty has passed.

Honey- There is a lot to do.

Hornet- For your end you must track down your missing Radiance, but perhaps it may be wise to use the King’s Brand.

Open that place beyond the kingdom’s memory. One mind of void cannot contain the full light of The Radiance, but what of a Vessel of multiple voids realised? What of you? WHat of the unity of all void at once?

You are so resistant to embrace the light of dawn, to accept the rightful truth. Yet you reach out to claim it from the confines of your mind. Why keep up such pretences, Pawn of Wyrm?

There is only one outcome to these endeavours. The light shall be rekindled, reborn, remembered. One way or another.

Another within the Hive has accepted my guidance. The Hive will fall shortly, and to the cause of one who gave himself by choice. Perhaps when we next meet, little one, you will realise how right that decision truly was. You are too late.

Fear not. I know well the limitations of your emptiness. Although from what I’ve seen so far, perhaps you are not as ‘hollow’ as old Wyrm intended. Nevertheless, Vessel, I do not know why you are here. Comban trusts you, it seems. Enough so to request an audience with me on your behalf.

Vespa- He wants you safe. If you had entered my kingdom under any other terms, if you were any other Vessel… I would have you killed.

Vessel, I have a proposition. Join us. Become a part of my Hive. Defend us at any cost, against any threat. I know what I ask of you is difficult, Vessel. It may cost you your life, ask you to betray your kin, or abandon your purpose. But I feel this opportunity may benefit us all. Our situation is worsening. The plague. It’s spreading.

We declined the Pale One’s offer to aid in Hallownest’s perpetuation. It is wrong to go against nature itself. But I have since come to realise the Infection is not an act of nature. It is an act of revenge.

And whilst her intentions are… understandable… I cannot let it continue here. Vessels have hurt us in the past but in times like these we need to move forwards from our histories. If Comban here has learned to trust you then I am willing to give you, Vessel, a chance.

I have a charm- Hiveblood by name- which effectively nullifies the draw of the Infection when equipped. Your shell will coat itself in a thin, healing layer of honey, giving you access to the Blessing at all times. For as long as I live, you are immune.

But. Say I give you this charm and you turn traitor. Say you selfishly desire power higher than Vespa’s Blessing can ward. Say you invite the Infection in… Hiveblood is a trust you must gain.

You may not be the one to face the plague of this kingdom but I see the potential you have to project what remains. But know this. No matter which path you choose, if your shields block the way of Hallownest’s recovery I will not hold back. Choose with your life.

Mato- As things are, it’s unlikely we will ever know Honey to a full extent. That doesn’t deter from trying, and please do, but it is likely you will find out about Honey things you will not like or expect. Honey is a bug unlike the norm. Be wary of them like everyone else.
