Here’s a chance for me to give updates without making a separate post for it! Anyways I’m super happy to see this account has grown a bit. I know Bella Sara is such a niche topic so I’m happy to see it grow.

Horses: Karna

Karna is a regular adult stallion. He does not have an official herd but is thought to be in herd Bellasara. His creator is Lotte Krogkaer.

Karna has a dapple grey coat. His knees and muzzle have a darker color. His mane and tail are brown.

Mahābhārata, one of the two major Sanskrit epics of ancient India has a major character named Karna.

Karna’s stable is a regular stable. While most of his stable art matches him well the mane is a bit off. The portrait uses the art from the Gold series.

Quote: “I am your from, both when your in your joy and sadness.”

(Fun fact: The quote uses “your” incorrectly in the second half of the quote. It should be “you’re”.)

Karna is a Danish exclusive card as he only appears in the Gold series.

Opinions: Karna could’ve been beautiful. I like the more bulky body and his coat isn’t one that’s super common. He has a beautiful tail and the from mane piece looks good but ugh, the rest of it just looks like stringy bits and it looks so bad. They is especially apparent in his stable art.

Headcannons:

- Honestly I’m not sure about the herd Bellasara placing but to be fair I’m unsure where else to place him.

- For some reason I see him as the simple but very sweet and friendly type.

- He’s not super smart but he’s not dumb either. He prefers the simple way of life.

- He’s a big guy so most of what he does is pulling.

- While he may not be the most intelligent or creative of the horses he is very sweet. He’s loyalty is unwavering as he sticks with his friends no matter what.

- He even surprises others with a surprisingly deep piece of advice which makes some thinks he has a lot more wisdom than he lets on.

- He’s an older horse and love to take care of and teach young foals.

- He believes it’s important to slow down sometimes and appreciate the simplistic things in life and take the time to enjoy them.

Horses: Madeja

Madeja is an adult female horse. She is considered to be an animal horse due to her physical similarities with the Yarn Yak, her magical friend. Madeja is considered to be unofficially part of herd Bella Sara. She was created by Anne Poulsen.

Madeja is pure white mare with brown hooves and eyes. Her mane appears to look like dreadlocks with the hair around her hooves looking the same. She has a think tail that ends with a tuft at the end. She’s wears a yellow ribbon around her tail and yellow flowers in her mane.

Madeja in Spanish means “skein or ball of yarn”.

Madeja’s stable appearance matches her art well. She is in a regular stable. The picture uses art from her Magical Friends appearance.

Madeja only appears in the Magical Friend series as a common card.

Madeja also appears in the Bellapedia.

Opinions: I actually use to not really like her when I was younger. I like her more though now. At least her magical friend doesn’t look terrible like some others. I like the unique look she has.

Headcannons:

- Honestly idk where herd Bella Sara came from. I’m personally vibing more with herd sunflower for her.

- Her mane is probably the same as the yarn yak’s fur so people will cut her mane and use it for clothing like they do with the yarn yak.

- Despite her mane resembling dreadlocks I feel like it’s actually super soft.

Herd Pantheon is unfortunately one of the herds with the least information. This is a shame as it seems like a very cool and interesting herd as it focuses on the virtues of strength seen in the myths of heroes from pieces of literature such as Greek and Nordic myths. Despite the lack of info this is one of my favorite herds and I would love to see more.

Horses: Inupiat

Inupiat is an adult male unicorn. He is officially part of herd Mustang. His animal friend is a polar bear. Inupiat was created by Jennifer L. Meyer.

Inupiat is a pure black stallion. His coat, hooves, mane, tail, and horn are entirely black. He has a long mane and tail with a long horn and feathering around his hooves. Part of his tail is bound by a brown/grey strap and he wears a brown harness around his neck with white feathering and beads.

Inupiat is named after the Inuit people, a tribe found in Northwest Alaska and the Bearing Strait. The name “Inuit” means “real people”.

Like most others Inupiat’s stable art follows the original art well even having a slight green shade on parts of him despite the fact under different lighting this shade would not appear. Inupiat had a regular stable which uses the Native Lights card art for the portrait.

Quote: “You have the strength and spirit to face any challenge”

Inupiat makes 2 appearances in the card series. He appears in Native Lights as a promo card in the North American release and as a base set card in the International release. Inupiat appears again in the Best of Bella Sara series using the same card art.

(This is such a mid 2000s girl magazine. The headband, side ponytails, flower necklaces. The magazine telling you how to be more likable and the girl advice. Not to mention the quizzes and best friends theming)

Inupiat appears as a mini figurine for series 1 and appears in the Bellapedia.

Opinions: Inupiat makes the top 10 as one of my favorite horses. Jennifer L. Meyer makes such gorgeous horses especially unicorns. His beautiful figure coupled with the pure black is amazing. Pure unicorns are already not super common in the Bella Sara world so Inupiat being the only pure black makes him even more special.

Headcannons:

- Like the rest of hers Mustang he does not stay in one area.

- He however typically sticks to colder areas.

- He loves to travel around and help people always reassuring them that they are strong.

- He is huge

- He himself is very strong both physically and spiritually as well as magically.

- He has been invited to herd Bellasara but declined to stay with Mustang.

- His magic can summon the spirit of a polar bear and can even control the lights in the sky

- He is well known throughout all of North of North

- Some consider him a myth for how quickly he appears and disappears.

Horses: Zargo

Zargo is a regular adult horse. Their gender is not specified. They have no official herd but are thought to be part of herd Starlight. They were created by Maria Nymark.

Zargo is a dark brown horse with a slightly darker muzzle. They have a black mane and tail with slightly feathered hooves. Similarly to Bella, they has trails of sparkles in around him.

While the name Zargo doesn’t seem to have a specific meaning it has appeared in science fiction. Such as the game “Zargo Lords” and in the “State of Decay” Doctor who episode.

Zargo’s stable appearance matches the art well. They are in a regular stable using the Copper series card art for the picture.

Quote: “Every moment is precious use it”

Zargo is a Danish exclusive card only appearing in the Copper series and never appearing in another afterwards.

Opinions: Zargo is nice, not the most interesting but still a nice horse. The wiki claims his muzzle is black but to me it looks like there isn’t much of a difference other than it’s slightly darker. But it’s hard to tell with the art quality and the dark coat. I do like the way he’s drawn for the card art.

Headcannons:

- I see him as a stallion

- I don’t think Starlight fits him that much theme wise, a lot of horses seem to have magic trails.

- He doesn’t have much to go off of but I would say maybe either herd Bellasara or Moonfairy. I’m leaning more towards Bellasara.

- He seems pretty wise based on his quote and I feel like he would take the time to get to know someone before judging them.

- He could be a windwalker but I think he works just as well as a regular horse. Either way.

Unlike most other herds, Mustang doesn’t have royalty of much of a hierarchy as they don’t place values in it. All honorable horses may join Herd Mustang.

Herd Mustang is definitely one of the more unique ones having no hierarchy and claiming no territory. I think it’s cool how they’re all part of a herd but don’t feel the need to constantly stick together and are able to follow their own path. I like the themes and values of this herd.

Random Bella Sara Thoughts #3: Edana and Jikin are related

So I was looking through the Bella Sara horse pages and while looking through the water horses these two stuck out to me. Edana and Jikin. Both are water horses and Edana is a confirmed hot blood while Jikin is a potential one. Now for some reason it never struck me that Edana was a hot blood as she only visually appears that way in the Magical Friends series. I’m used to her Baby Bella and Royalty versions. Here’s some pics for reference.

Now, back to it. The reason I feel they’re related. Well, hot bloods are already pretty rare. And it’s even rarer to see two hot bloods (well one isn’t confirmed but I’m kinda assuming he is) with a type of horse that would clash with the hot blood element. A water horse. Plus idk they kinda look similar but that might just be the way they’re drawn/the pose. They post have warm colored manes with similar colors and both have front legs with a fish tail where their rear legs would be.

So getting down to it I feel like these two are related. But they’re not siblings. Maybe at most cousins? Though they could more distantly related but for the sake of simplicity I would say cousins. I like to think that one of their grandparents was a water horse and the other a hot blood. I’m not sure about their parents individually but at the very least the hot blood trait was passed down to these two. According to lore Edana burned so brightly that it was hard for others to be near her because she would become too hot. She gave some of her magic to the fire spoofs which helped her cool down. So I like to think that Edana had much stronger hot blood powers compared to Jikin. I like to think he has the ability to light himself up and create flames, but these flames aren’t super hot making the water around him nice and warm instead of boiling hot like how it used to be with Edana.

I feel they’re acquaintances. They like eachother but don’t have much of a bond leading to a more neutral relationship between the two. I think this can be used to explain why they’re not mentioned to know each other. They may have a stronger relationship if they were in the same herd. However, I like to think while they were both born into hers Islandar, Jikin left to join herd Eleymn. Considering he and Lien are close friends I wonder if he left to be closer with Lien. They however are not dating canonically. I like to think Jikin has a huge crush on Lien but is scared to tell her. He also has a fear that he might hurt her considering she’s made out of water and he is part hot blood.

Horses: Aries

Aries is an adult horse animal horse. Their gender is not specified. They have no official herd. They are considered to be unofficially part of herd Starlight. They were created by Fie Tholander.

Aries is a black horse with lighter back feathering and red cloven hooves. Aries mane, beard, and end of lion like tail are multi colored consisting of warm colors such as red, orange, and yellow. Their mane is styled as a single braid. They have red cured ram like horns with a yellow tip. They have scarlet eyes with a red diamond shaped gemstone in the middle of their forehead.

Aries’ name comes from the constellation/zodiac Aries.

Aries’ stable appearance matches the card art well. The picture used in the stable is from the Copper series art.

Aries is a Danish exclusive card. Only appearing in the Copper series and never making it into another card series outside of the Scandinavian exclusive series.

Opinions: Aries is super sick. I’m sad that they never added him but maybe he was just too edgy. I’m surprised he didn’t come from the Wise Warriors series.

Headcannons:

- I see him as male

- I don’t think herd Starlight would be for him. Doesn’t fit the theme other than the zodiac thing.

- Considering Aries are supposedly ambitious and passionate I think herd Airistos would work better.

- Dude has to have some fire powers, he is a fire sign.

- Definitely another horse that other horses are probably a bit afraid of, but he’s not bad.

- He’s more of a loner and isn’t a big fan of working with others as he’s stubborn and pushy as he wants things to go his way.

- He and the other zodiac horses are celestial protectors.

- Definitely a fighter, not afraid to ram a wolf.

- A bit intimidating and mean at first but once you get to know him he opens up his softer size and is less of a hard ass.

- He definitely isn’t the friendliest of the horses but he would defend his friend and home at any cost. He’s a skilled fighter but the scariest part is his sheer determination and his unwillingness to lose a fight.

Horses: Violet

Violet is an adult female regular horse. She is the Lady of herd Sunflower. Violet was created by Anita Soelver.

Her coat is purple and her mane and tail are magenta. Her mane and tail appear to be glowing or even made out of magic. She wears a golden chain around her next with the crest of herd Sunflower as the pendant.

Violet’s name is most likely a reference to both the color and the flower.

Violet is married to Snapdragon (blue pegasus). Together they have one daughter, Shasta Daisy (black foal).

Violet didn’t have a stable version of her but she did appear in the Bella Sara adventure game.

Quote: “Joy gives you the power to reach your goals.”

Violet only appears in Sunflowers. However, she does make an appearance in the McDonald Happy Meal promo cards for the Sunflowers series. These cards are very similar to the regular Sunflower cards.

Other appearances:

A Violet figurine could be found as a toy in McDonald’s Happy Meals.

Opinions: I really like Violet. She’s a very pretty horse. I actually shipped her and Snapdragon together before I found out they were already canonically together. I do kinda find it weird that their foal looks nothing like them though. Whatever, it’s not necessary are unheard of that the foals look like or have multiple similar attributes to their parents.

Headcannons:

- Currently I actually don’t really have any headcannons for Violet.

- Maybe she loves running and leaves a violet mist behind her.

- As she runs flowers bloom and sprouts appear.
