9 Tips for Traveling to Mexico City
Mexico is a relatively distant holiday destination, so you will have to prepare a little better than for a European holiday. Please keep the following points in mind.
Tumblr media
Are you planning a visit to Mexico? this posts that help you make your Mexico trip perfect.
Where Is the Most Beautiful Beach in Mexico in 2023
Best Places to Visit in Mexico for Couples in 2023
10 Reasons : Why Is Mexico a Popular Tourist Destination
1. Mexico visa
If you go on holiday to Mexico and stay in this country for less than 90 days, as a Polish citizen, you do not need a visa. Upon arrival, you will receive a tourist visa, show your passport and return ticket. Please note that your passport must be valid for at least six months. Be careful when flying to Mexico via America. Then, even though you are only transferring at the airport, you must apply for an ESTA. Airlines will refuse to take you on board if you don't have an ESTA. This is worth taking into account when booking your flight.
2. Vaccinations for Mexico
For holidays in Mexico, vaccinations against DTP (diphtheria, tetanus, and polio) and vaccination against hepatitis A (infectious hepatitis) are recommended.
3. How to pay in Mexico
In Mexico, you pay with Mexican Pesos. If you want to take cash with you, it is best to exchange US dollars for Pesos on the spot. You can pay in cash almost everywhere (except restaurants near hotels in Tulum), and there is always an ATM in tourist places. A credit card will be helpful, too.
You can pay with it in most restaurants and hotels, although 2-5% more interest will be added to the total amount in some areas. This only happened to us in one hotel. Before you leave, set up your bank card for worldwide use; otherwise, you won't be able to withdraw money in Mexico. If you have a USD or EUR account, it is worth using this card because it has a better conversion rate than the PLN one. We used Revolut. It worked perfectly. We paid about 80% of our expenses with Revolut. In total, for all hotels and most restaurants. We needed cash mainly for entrance fees, gasoline, guides, and street food.
4. ATMs in Mexico
They are practically everywhere. However, it is best to use ATMs located at banks. They are more reliable. Avoiding ATMs in shops or on the street for security reasons is better. On the first day, we made a big trip, visiting five banks and trying to withdraw money from 6 other cards. None of them worked except Visa. So it's worth having other cards with you. I don't recommend going to ATMs because they charge high commissions. If you don't have an account in EUR or USD, it is better to choose money from Revolut (even after exceeding the limit and adding the 2% commission, it is still more profitable than converting at the bank rate in PLN - we tested this option)
5. Plane tickets to Mexico
When you vacation to Yucatan, Mexico, you fly to Cancun. On average, a return ticket to Cancun costs around EUR 700, but the price depends on the season. After the pandemic, we noticed that prices went up quite significantly. To buy reasonably priced tickets, it is best to book them several months in advance.
6. Safety in Mexico
Mexico regularly appears in the news from a negative side, mainly due to drug crimes. All these events usually occur in the north of Mexico, especially near the border with America. Yucatan is located in the south of Mexico, and we felt very safe there. Of course, it is worth being careful not to wander dark streets at night.
7. Transportation in Mexico
As mentioned, transport in Mexico (Yucatan) is well organized. The distances are not huge compared to other regions, and the roads are good. You can choose to travel by bus or rent a car. The best bus company in Mexico is ADO. They run practically between every destination, and the buses are very comfortable and of a high standard, which is associated with a higher price. You can also travel more budget-friendly with local lines or use Colectivo. However, if you want to travel without restrictions, the best option is to rent a car. Fortunately, driving in southern Mexico is very easy and safe. There are straight highways between villages and cities. These roads are extensive, well-paved and not too crowded. It is best to rent a car in Mexico at the airport. We paid EUR 36 per day with full insurance for a mid-range car. Here you will find information on where renting a car is best and cheapest: Mexico – Guide and Travel Plan.
8. When is the best time to travel to Mexico?
The best season to visit southern Mexico is from November to March. You can also visit Mexico in the remaining months, but the temperatures are much higher, and there is a high chance of rainfall. August and October are hurricane seasons, so try to avoid these months. We were there at the turn of January and February; it was the perfect time. Temperatures around 25-30 degrees, practically no rain, and good water transparency. Out of 17 days, it rained one day, and there were frosts lasting several minutes twice. However, we also had a few cloudy afternoons. It was always sunny in the morning, and sometimes clouds gathered in the afternoon.
9. What places are worth visiting in Mexico?
Suppose you want to visit many places during your vacation in Mexico. In that case, we recommend making about five different accommodations and staying there for 3-4 nights, depending on what you want to see. During our tour of Mexico, we looked for the most beautiful places and managed to see them all during our 17-day trip. If you have less time, you can shorten the route. If you have more time, you can stay longer in the most pleasant places. You will find our itinerary here. We described our way in detail, listed the most beautiful places to see, and made a ranking of the best cenotes and the most paradise beaches. You will also find all the accommodations we recommend and delicious restaurants there.

Best Beaches for Families In Phuket Thailand For Families
If you plan to travel to Thailand with your family, you are looking for the best Phuket beaches for families. Please check the best seven sea beaches in Phuket, Thailand.
If you are planning to travel to Phuket from Bangkok this blog will help you
Tumblr media
Patong beach
This beach is one of the largest and best-known on the island, so it is also one of the most crowded. On its 3.5 kilometers of white sand and clean waters, Patong Beach offers numerous options for bathing, water sports, sunbathing, and leisure. We recommend visiting this beach because it is the tourist center of Phuket. However, it is not the most recommended if you are looking for a quiet and romantic stay or traveling with children.
Karon Beach
Karon is a 2.5 km long beach and, after Patong, is the second most visited by tourists. However, this beach is usually liked more than Patong because it is quieter. Karon is a beach with everything for all tastes: You will find everything from a volleyball court to areas to practice water sports. There are also companies to rent jet skis, hammocks, umbrellas, and even natural shade areas to rest under the trees.
Panwa Beach
Panwa Beach is another of the most recognized Phuket beaches. It is near Cape Panwa, in the east of the island of Phuket. It stands out for its luxury villas, resorts, and beach with predominantly white sand. The waters at Panwa Beach are shallow and ideal for snorkeling.
Kata Beach
This beach is divided into Kata Yai Beach (the big one) and Kata Noi Beach (the smaller one). These beaches are located near Patong Beach and tend to be quite crowded. Both beaches are beautiful and suitable for swimming, but they stand out from other beaches in Phuket, especially for surfing. The waves on these beaches are usually more substantial, so it is one of the favorites for surfers. In Kata Yai (the most extensive coast), you will also find a lot of atmosphere with shops and restaurants.
Playa de Mai Khao
Mai Khao Beach is one of the best things to see in Phuket if you want tranquility. It is located in the north of the island. Its 10 km coastline makes it the longest beach in Phuket. From November to March, the waters of its beach are very calm, perfect for swimming or relaxing.
Nai Harn Beach
It is a small beach usually frequented by locals and where there are few tourists, so it is not crowded. It is a quiet beach with fine white sand and turquoise water. Ideal for a trip to Phuket to bathe and relax.
Kamala Beach
Another quite famous beach in Phuket is Kamala, which is located near the Patong area. It is smaller and quieter than this one, making it one of the most suitable beaches in Phuket for families with children

The best luxury hotel chains in the world
Service and quality are everything for those lucky enough to have the money to splurge on a five-star hotel. Whether you want a chic hotel in central Paris or a luxurious hideaway tucked away in the South American jungle, there are hotel chains that own the best hotels on the globe. Here are the top luxury hotel brands in the world.
Tumblr media
St Regis The St Regis brand began a century ago when John Jacob Astor IV opened a hotel on New York's 55th Street. Tailored service is essential here and in the rest of the group. It currently has over 40 luxury hotels and resorts around the world. Every place from Moscow to Mauritius, Bangkok to Bora Bora has one thing in common: the guest comes first. Tradition and timeless class combine with modern technology and sophistication to create something extraordinary.
Hilton Does the famous model and singer Paris Hilton ring a bell for you? She is the great-granddaughter of Conrad Hilton, who in 1919 founded the homonymous hotel chain, which also owns other brands in the sector. Present in 106 countries, it has hotels in the most strategic points and the major airports. Business people highly appreciate her. In Italy, the famous Rome Cavalieri Hilton, which dominates the city from the hill of Monte Mario, is one of Rome's most beautiful terraces.
Tumblr media
Four Seasons The Four Seasons has surprisingly humble beginnings for such a major luxury brand. The story began in Toronto in 1961 with the opening of what appeared to be, at least on the surface, an unremarkable motel. Yet, the company's exceptional standards have ensured its rise to its current industry-leading position, redefining hospitality over the years. According to the Four Seasons, the golden rule is "treat others as we would like to be treated ourselves." A long-standing commitment to innovation also sets it apart. It was the first to introduce hair dryers to its guest rooms, offered dry cleaning long before any other hotel, and in 2015, it flew guests in the hotel industry's first private jet.
InterContinental The InterContinental brand is synonymous with quality. This exclusive hotel group offers luxurious services, sumptuously designed rooms, suites, fine dining, and spas. Whether traveling for business or pleasure, seeing the name above the door is a reliable indicator of the luxury you'll find. With hotels in all the best locations – New York, Paris, London, and Hong Kong – the only tricky thing will be choosing which one to book.
Rosewood A rising star at the top end of the market, Rosewood now has over 3,000 rooms worldwide. The chain was founded in 1979 in Dallas, Texas, but can now be found in as many countries as Cambodia, Italy, China, and the United Kingdom. Each property reflects the underlying "Sense of Place" philosophy that draws on the destination's unique history, architecture, and traditions. A key feature at select resorts is the Sense Spa, whose treatments draw heavily on local ingredients and practices.
Tumblr media
Ritz-Carlton The Ritz-Carlton was the brainchild of celebrated hotelier Cesar Ritz, who managed the Ritz in Paris and the Carlton in London. After he died in 1918, his legacy remained, revolutionizing hospitality in America with the opening of the Boston Ritz-Carlton in 1927. The Ritz-Carlton group was born in 1983 with the purchase of that Boston hotel and rights to the name. Today, it's a luxury hotel brand owned by Marriott, operating 91 locations in 30 countries.
Aman The history of this hotel chain is recent and particular. It was born from the desire of the Indonesian entrepreneur Adrian Zecha to build a villa for his holidays on the island of Bora Bora. Not settling for little, he made a structure with many rooms, various services, with a vast garden, and he estimated that it was too much to enjoy alone. He then founded the company today, with a handful of very select luxury hotels, 32 in the world, guaranteeing unique and costly experiences. A room in an Aman hotel can cost as much as buying a house, but it will give you "sovereign" affairs, which, as the hotel motto states, "you only have once in a lifetime."
Fairmont Hotels This luxury hotel chain was born in the 19th century in Canada as an offshoot of the colonial railway corporation! It was necessary to provide accommodation for travelers and workers who worked on the immense railway lines of the country. From those makeshift hotels, already at the beginning of the 20th century, a chain of high-quality hotels was established, present in major Canadian cities and beyond. Mandarin Oriental
The luxury hotel chain that bears this name derives from the history of two chains and eras. The Oriental Hotels were founded in the 19th century in Thailand by an American entrepreneur who went bankrupt in 1910.
On the other hand, Mandarin was born in 1963 in Hong Kong, with entirely different needs, namely to make luxury an opportunity. It was the Mandarin that was the first to have worldwide success, to the point of recovering the old hotels of the Oriental line and unifying the two names into a single brand. Today this company supplies hotels mainly in Europe and Asia. They are also present in China, although with a different word ( Wenhua Donfang.
Six Senses Hotel&Resort This luxury hotel chain is a far cry from the stereotype of the hotel for the rich. They are undoubtedly expensive and high-class hotels, but they arise from a noble need: always respecting the environment. The beginning was that of wellness treatment resorts, with some associated rooms.
Then the brand was successful, and by focusing on eco-sustainability, it established itself in the world, even in the luxury one! In recent years, in addition to resorts, Sex Senses has also begun to manage actual hotels, where the wellness center is just one of the many high-quality services offered to the customer.
