Referred to as mudbugs, crawfish farming adds an estimated $300 million yearly to Louisiana's economy. This is a Georgia Red-backed Salamander—Plethodon serratus. It had to be red in Georgia, right? The Barn Group found it under an old woodpile in Brooks, Georgia. Georgia has had lots of rain and the Red-backed Salamander likes moisture. They can be found beneath logs and in leaf litter, especially in winter.
