Another thing in the tau wiki! If I put the wrong name for a page, am I able to change it? How do I delete a page if not? Also, what is the process of putting characters into categories? And making the little bits of info like species that go below the image? Sorry to bother you again!

No worries! Renaming a page is easy. Tap on the arrow next to the article name and click Move.

Categories are simple too. Click the pencil to edit the post, then click the hamburger button to open the menu and click Categories.

The character infobox is a bit trickier. I need to set it up so that you can just fill out a form and it'll make the infobox for you. At the current time, the best thing to do is to edit the source (using the second pencil button, not the first) of a post with a character infobox you like, copy the infobox code, and paste it into your page (again in the source editor, not the visual editor). Or you can write your page without the infobox and then ask someone to add it. I'll try to get infoboxes working better soon, so that they're easier to make.

Rleiph, Najill, and Phil doodles!

I seriously LOVE Drephl’s yellow eyes, and I like to think that some of his descendants inherited them (or at least some shade of them). Please don’t ask what’s going on with Rleiph’s orange outfit, I don’t know either. I messed with their heights a little bit, because I work with horses, and when someone is on top of one, they are TALL, much taller than a werewolf. But these are centaurs, so I made her shorter. I’m still getting the hang of the, so they might look a little weird!

Thank you so much! I made the ask using my alt blog, bc I haven’t figured out how to switch them for asks yet. I’m so glad you liked my art!

I came up with a few brief personalities for a few characters, and I wanted to show you to hear your input!

Personalities:

Drephl

Drephl is a very down to earth person, and enjoys a good mystery. He prefers to stay inside reading, rather than playing around.

Ghali

Ghali is observant, and often comes prepared. She can usually keep her cool in stressful situations, and loves to laugh. She is very thoughtful, and likes to look at the big picture.

Rleiph

Rleiph is very energetic, and a little bit clumsy. She can get very homesick. When she’s frustrated, she can usually cool down with a hike. She is very expressive, and a little bit stubborn. She likes to speak her mind, which can easily get her into trouble. Rleiph likes socializing, and can get bored easily without other people around.

Najill

Najill is very book smart, and prefers to know as much as ze can about situations before being in them. They are usually calm, but can get overwhelmed from big work loads. Ze usually tries to hide it when this happens. Najill does like talking to other people, but needs recharge time after socializing.

I really don’t have that much in Drephl or Ghali, it I can easily picture their interactions! I just have trouble describing them. I also plan to add something about Najill being anxious.

When I asked about the clothes, I meant more of personal styles, rather than era, but I did come up with some things for this too!

Ghali

Likes to wear very put together outfits, very stylish, but in an effortless, sophisticated way.

Drephl

He prefers studious clothes out of the house, but values comfortably the most.

Rleiph

She has several piercings, and loves to accessorize. She likes to dress comfy, but also likes to look good. Often experiments with clothing styles.

Najill

Ze wears a monocle, and likes to dress in studious clothes.

All of these are literally the exact words from my wiki drafts, so please let me know if there is anything you want changed! This was not all of it, I’ve left out a lot of physical descriptions and the history, but Ghali and Drephl are ironically the ones with the least important info. These are all work in progress btw!

Hello! I recently saw your art of Ghali, Drephl and Rleiph, and decided to finally try out making wiki pages! I plan on making all three of them before adding them, but I have a few questions on about them. (Im pretty sure that you wrote the fic, but please correct me if I’m wrong)

first off, the fic is AMAZING, I cried multiple times while reading it, and everything goes together so perfectly there’s too much to talk about so I’ll stop here before it gets too long.

1) On Ghali, I wanted to double check that she took the last name Shims, because at some point it refers to the family as “the shims”

2) on Frihl, does he keep the last name Shims, or take his husband’s name?

3) can I say that Rleiph has pale speckles in her physical description?

4) could you give me more insight on Ghali’s , Drephl’s and Rleiph’s personalities? I personally struggle with describing those myself.

5) are there names for Drephl and Frihl’s parents, as I would like for them to be in the relationships category.

6) same for Rleiph’s girlfriend. Also, does she have a physical appearance? I’d love to draw the two of them together.

7) WEREWOLF CENTAUR. Amazing idea. What does the kid look like? I know that they’re described as a foal, but WHAT IS THEY JUST HAD A WOLF HALF INSTEAD OF A HORSE HALF, OR A WOLF HALF DURING FULL MOONS. I would love to know things like their skin tones and hair color too. (And coat) also thank you for all these centaurs, there isn’t even a catagory on the wiki for them yet.

8) what kind of clothes does everyone wear?

9) I know that Drephl and Ghali probably just went to a courtroom and signed some papers, but I really want to draw Drephl standing on a stool with her under an arch, where they just hug. This is also so I can mess around with possible wedding traditional clothing during that time period.

10) what is the name of Drephl and Ghali’s grandchild? The werewolf one?

9) I love that so much. also, it honestly makes a lot of sense for them to hold an actual celebration; your wedding is basically the only time in your life where you have an excuse to gather every single person you're close to in one place for a big party (aside from your funeral but uh. yeah.) their marriage was meant as the point where they no longer cared what anyone else thought bc they were so secure in their meaning to each other, so i love the idea of them going all out and then just hugging.

It’s me again!

I asked you this before, but I still didn’t understand and was too embarrassed to ask again. To put images into the wiki, you said to upload a file? How do you make a file? Is it possible to do it on mobile? Do I screenshot the image, and add a link later, or do put the link in and it’s somehow automatic? And a big one: how do I make sure the image appears in that little box in the right?

Thanks for helping me with all this wiki stuff, and don’t worry if you can’t answer my questions!

Not a problem! The same process should work the same on mobile, but it might be a bit clunkier.

Start by going to the Upload File page. Click the "browse" button and find the image you want to upload. I tested this on iOS and it does let you upload photos/screenshots from your photo library. I don't have an Android phone so I can't be sure, but I'd assume it works there too. In the summary box, put a link to the source of the image so that the artist can get credit for it.

NOTE: If you choose a picture and the website says that it's too large, you can fix that (on iOS) by clicking Browse again, selecting your image, and then at the bottom of the screen there should be a button that says "Actual size"; you can click that and choose one of the other options so that the uploaded file is smaller. Again, this is probably also possible on Android, but I don't know how.

Next is actually adding your uploaded image into an article. Go to the article you want to edit, and click edit. Find the place you want to add the image to. Then click Insert > Images and media.

Find your image in the popup, and click the blue button in the top right corner that says Use this image. Then, you'll get a box for the caption for the picture. Again, I recommend putting a link to the source for the image here. Then you can click the blue Insert Picture button, and it should be there! It should be in a box on the right by default, as long as you've added a caption.

Let me know if this works better!

Some ideas for a centaur wheelchair that Rleiph might use during her recovery.

Rleiph and her partner’s child. (I wanted to play with the idea of more wolfish markings, as one of their parents is a werewolf!)

And a slightly recolored version to be closer to their mother’s coat.

They don’t have a confirmed physical description yet, so this is all just speculation!

@toothpastecanyon proposed the idea of a post-apocalypse dragon Mizar, and it was too good to resist! May I present;

MIZAR THE MIGHTY!!!!!

Info and more versions below the cut!

Her name Mezra (might be changed later)

She hoards glitter

Lives in an abandoned “Michelles” (in-universe-Michaels”)

Sleeps in the yarn section

Sleeps with a few glitter bottles, they spill a lot

Keeps the feast of her hoard in a different section

Friendly

Always has glitter in her scales (she likes it)

Sometimes has yarn tangled in her horns

She paints her claws (all of them) with the gold acrylic paint

Those scale patterns under her eyes are natural

Her spikes are a little bit uneven (like in the headshot)

Literally leaves a trail of glitter when she drags her tail

She does not sleep like in the picture, she rolls constantly, which is how she gets so much glitter on her

Deep sleeper

Lonely :( all the humans are scared of her

Daydreams a lot

Likes exploring areas close to home (like forests, or deep caves with lots of space)

Loves the way her scales glint in the sun, but prefers night flying because she can see the lights of the human (and other) villages. She would say hi, but she knows they would probably attack her.

Loves cloud-gazing, and flying through fog

Very excited to meet Alcor, they get along great, and she’s happy to have a friend. He wingmans (?) for her when she’s trying to befriend villages

Alcor often uses a dragon form around her (like 50/50) because I headcannon that he will tweak his appearance if a Mizar is a different species, or just looks drastically different.

Mezra loves his humanoid form, because she can pick him up and make fun of him

Her favorite food are the goats that hang around a few minutes flight from the Michelles

Because she’s a dragon, and hasn’t had much socialization, she has a lot less reservations about killing people.

It’s more of a “I think we’re gonna have to kill this guy, Mezra” “Aw man” situation.

Notes on the current era:

The apocalypse happened around 12,000 years after the transcendence.

The apocalypse was caused by a magic storm, which wiped out a TON of humanity (and other sapient species), throwing the survivors into a medieval-esque era. ( think Wizard of Lanata, I love that fic btw)

Because of the magic storm, almost all man-made settlements (towns,cities,buildings,anything really) were destroyed, except for very few patches here and there there, which is how the Michelles still exists.

Mezra hatched around 200 years post apocalypse

Alcor is in a silly crazy cycle, so there’s not really much angst despite him being really old.

More versions:

Mezra’s personality is still a work in progress, but she’s basically the embodiment of my ADHD. She has similar traits of Mabel, but different behaviors.

Hey! About the tau wiki (as I will be running into more problems, you will almost certainly get more asks from me) if a character has no physical description in the only thing they’ve appeared in, but there is art of them, should I give a physical description of the artist’s depiction, or only have the picture for any form of fanart reference?

I'm delighted whenever people work on it, so I'm glad to answer questions! Imo, it's fine to describe an image of the character and then use the image itself as the citation. It's a collaborative universe, and if there are conflicting depictions, they can both be described.

Revamp the TAU wiki!

Hi fellow TAU fans!

It’s been increasingly obvious that the Transcendence AU wiki needs some work. The fandom in general has been experiencing a bit of an upswing lately, which is fantastic, but it does highlight the fact that we need a good place to store and organize our canon. This is especially obvious given that there is a large amount of information that’s inaccessible to new fans because it’s essentially buried in TAU blog.

We want to change that. And I’m excited to say that the effort to revamp the wiki is already under way!

I have been working on a style guide that will allow multiple editors to work simultaneously on the wiki and result in a consistent style. It’s very much a work in progress right now, and I’d welcome feedback on it, whether that be by commenting on the document, talking to me in the TAU Discord, or directly messaging me!

Even though the style guide is not done, we’ve been encouraging working on the wiki to test it out and to experiment so we can figure out what needs to be added to the guide. We’ve already got some awesome users who are actively working on making this wiki a better, more organized, more informative place, and we’d love for you to join us!

What do I need to do to get started?

You’ll need to create an account on the wiki – it’s easy and free. Then, read the style guide, and start editing!

What can I help out with?

The menu bar on the wiki has links to a list of pages that need work, as well as a list of pages that need to be created. These lists are definitely incomplete, though, because TAU has such an expansive canon. Feel free to add articles about anything TAU related that you know about!

If the style guide is a WIP, does that mean you might change rules that are already there?

It’s definitely possible that we’ll get some feedback and decide to change some of the rules that are already there. Unfortunately, that would mean that any articles which we previously considered to have good style would need to be updated with the new rules. That’s one of the risks of working on the wiki before the style guide is finalized.

What if we want to write about something and there aren’t any rules about how to write it?

Feel free to experiment! If you find something that works really well, that helps us figure out what should go into the guide.

I’m confused about something!
