Ok let's talk for a moment about the friendship between Severus and Lily. We know it's complicated and we don't have a lot of data to go on. But this idea has been in my head for a while. Many talk about how much Lily has been there for Severus, how much she has protected him over the years and how unfair it was that Snape insulted her. Obviously he was unfair and horrible, I will never say otherwise. But let's look at the facts. It's Snape who has always been there for Lily, not the other way around. It was he who explained to her how the wizarding world works, who supported her and helped her at school. He's the one who tried to warn her about Remus and the Marauders while she justified them. It's true, we know that she tried to defend Snape but she was never able to stop him from being bullied. On the contrary, how many times has Lily been bullied or attacked by classist future Death Eaters? Avery and Mulciber were horrible people who hated muggleborns. So why did they never attack Lily? After the worst memory in which Snape insulted her he went to apologize and she didn't accept the apology. After that episode Lily was no longer interested in him. She didn't care that the boy she started dating, James, continued to bully Snape. Oh she didn't know, from what we're told, because James didn't tell her when he attacked Snape. And didn't you have any doubts? She didn't care that her ex-best friend continued to be bullied. Yet she still hasn't begun to be targeted by future Death Eaters. Really, which of the two was there for the other?

The oldest known Harry Potter fanfiction

I only discovered yesterday the first Harry Potter fanfiction ever published, it dates back to 1999, even before the release of Prisoner of Azkaban. The story is available on Fanfiction.net and on Ao3 in full. It's thanks to this story that we have fanfiction platforms on the Harry Potter fandom. This story, however simple, started it all. Severus being born in 1960, Lockhart in 1964.

Severus' worst memory - June, 1976 - Lockhart's first year.

Severus becoming a teacher on September of 1981 - Lockhart is in his 7th year.

The new students are weary of the dungeon bat and Lockhart just going "this goth potions nerd? I remember when *yada yada talk about his humiliation in the worst memory with how the rumors described it*"

Needless to say when Severus found out he made Lockhart's last year a living hell.

Needless to say Severus was very close to off Dumbledore when he gave Lockhart the DADA position.

Ok I've decided, I'll start publishing a fanfiction about the Marauders Era but which focuses on the Snape Gang. (there will also be parts with the marauders of course, a multi pov)

I really want there to be a fair story, showing the real classism of that period and the bullying of the Marauders towards Snape and other students. Let's put it this way, this is my way of fighting ATYD.

My headcanon Caradoc doesn't like his first name, he prefers his middle name and almost everyone uses that, Byron.

His full name is in fact Caradoc Byron White, but after the death of his mother he tried to acquire the woman's surname. Pureblood traditions did not allow him to do so. Within the Order of the Phoenix he also uses his first name and his mother's surname as a further cover, becoming Caradoc Dearborn.

Caradoc Dearborn has always been very protective of Severus. Unlike other future Death Eaters, Snape was not a pureblood convinced of purist ideals, he was just a scared boy who wanted to belong to something and was looking for protection.

Even though Caradoc did not believe in purist classism, he joined the so-called Snape Gang to stay close to his friend and protect him. With the start of the war everything became more complicated. Caradoc joined the Order of the Phoenix, while many of his closest friends became Death Eaters.

Here to remember that Evan Rosier was part of the Snape Gang canonically.

According to Sirius Black, he was part of a group of Slytherins and aspiring Death Eaters which included Severus Snape, as well as Wilkes, Avery and Mulciber.

it is much more likely that he was part of his group than that of Regulus who was a year younger than Severus. So the gang needs to be updated:
