Calling Day || Amity + Clara
Clara just smiled and shrugged not knowing what to say to that because— yes, she did have to bring something with her. She didn’t have the money for anything better but she knew she needed something to make up for the fact that it was her that was showing up at the door, in want of friendship. There had to be something more than just herself that she could offer to people to prove her worth.
Thankfully Amity invited her in and Clara followed. She plopped down in the open bean bag chair, having to awkwardly rearrange herself so she was sitting up instead of sinking back.
She nodded along to the questions even though, as a Muse, weird dreams were just sort of apart of her life. Swynlake ones were different though because they involved more than just her being aware of it.
“Yeah, I don’t really know. It’s weird— but from what I’ve heard from the people who’ve been around the block, it’s the town itself doing it. Maybe someone dropped a Jane Austen novel down the wrong storm drain and it got sucked up or something.” She shrugged. “Did you like how it casted you? I mean, being a Viscountess couldn’t have been completely terrible, right?”
Amity watched as Clara got more comfortable in the bean bag before offering some of the trail mix to her. “You picked a good one, want some?”
She listened intently when Clara started to explain more about the dream situation. Now that was something she hadn’t thought of. The town doing magic itself. Amity had never heard of such a thing occurring in centuries back in America. She had originally thought some sorcerer was messing with with all the townspeople for personal gain, the only question being who. But the town itself... Amity would have to look more into that sometime.
“It was actually nice. I got to be this magick activist that people actually listened to because of my economic status. Living in some mansion, meeting some really good people I haven’t even met yet. The only snag was the big prize in this competition was to get hitched... but I guess that aligned with the timing of the era, unfortunately.” However, she actually didn’t mind at all who she ended up with in the dream. While she didn’t know her personally, Tiana Truitt was a beautiful and hardworking business owner after all.
“Did you like your dream life Clara?”

Ice Cream Chilling
Mei was more or less used to Swynlake’s dream worlds. She had been living in town for two years now. This one was just…a little harder for her to get through. It reminded her that she had met Lock in one of those dreams and been with him in every one after. And Swynlake hadn’t even been sympathetic enough to give her him in a dream, on Valentine’s Day. On his birthday.
But, it was nice to make a new friend, she thought. It didn’t make up for all the rest, but it wouldn’t hurt, either. Maybe having a friend who hadn’t known Lock would be helpful…she would only know this new version of Mei. Whatever that version was.
“Oh, uh–I’m doing alright. Thanks. What about you?” Her eyes flicked over Amity. Still a witch, like she had been in the dream. “Are you new to town?”
Tumblr media
Surely they would’ve known about a new sorcerer family if they had already been here.
Seattle didn’t really have random town dreams, if memory served right. The only crazy-magic related things that happened there was usually Emira and Edric’s fault. Nothing to major either, except for when the town power went out for a full twelve hours. But dream magic was a new experience, and Amity was genuinely curious.
If dream versions had some aspects to the real person, then Mei was an absolute gem. she was kind, loyal, and overall awesome person. But even more important, she was another girl sorceress to befriend!
“Glad to here it. And yeah, pretty much same, just still dazed that something at such a large scale could occur like it did.” She smiled at Mei “Relatively. I first arrived back when school started in Fall. It’s been quite the place so far, lot’s of things happen for such a small town.” Which actually made it kind of... fun? No... mysterious.
“Have you always lived in Swynlake? Does dream stuff like this always happen?”

* Amity was very good at this. Amity was probably objectively better than Vanessa was at sports. For a second, that made Vanessa a bit angry – angry was maybe the wrong word there, but maybe a bit jealous. Because Vanessa maybe could’ve  been better at sports if she’d just had a chance before. Maybe…
But that jealousy immediately turned into glee. Because this was fun! Because even though Vanessa liked her teammates, Amity was her age and a girl and a sorceress!
Tumblr media
“You’re really good at this!” she shouted to Amity, hitting the ball the other girl had just tossed her.
“Great job!” said Jake, catching the ball in a totally not volleyball way. “Let’s do some serves now – get ready, Amity!”
Tumblr media
“Thank you! You are too!” Amity shouted back to Vanessa. “Really keeping me on my toes over here.” It was true, maintaining this volley was no easy feat. And even when one of them dropped it, they got back up and right back to it. Sure it was intramurals, so competition wouldn’t be too fierce... but Vanessa and Jake were still keeping the spirit strong which further inspired Amity to give it her all.
“Alright” She started bouncing on her feet until it was the moment for her to serve. Serving position, right. Amity threw the ball in the air and palmed it right into the net. Ughh. Second serve proved better as it landed over the net. “Yes!”

After that dream, Amity had come to further appreciate her love of both magic and music. She was by no means a professional musician, gosh what would her mother say about that. But, she got her A’s in chorus and appreciated singing so much so that Ms. Mercer from Choir II allowed her to be a student conductor for their school’s rendition of This is Me from the Greatest Showmen. Amity wasn’t a theatre kid, but extra-credit always brought her out and got her liking things she never expected.
Amity was happy that Aquata had accepted her help in making the jingle to help spread magick positivity and awareness. Amity smiled back arriving to see Aquata. Anything to promote magick awareness, Amity was there. Since Aquata was a board member after all, she had some pull in making things happen here and Amity didn’t mind the slightest in giving her support.
“Thanks for the snacks! Alright, so if we’re starting from scratch.. would you like to make the tune first or the lyrics?”
Tumblr media
@aquata-the-champ
Protest Music | Amata
Every good rally needed a protest song. Aquata wasn’t the best musician (okay, she was decent at the clarinet and she knew how to sing) but she figured she could pull off a simple enough tune. Wasn’t that the point, anyway? it didn’t have to be something complicated. It was better that it wasn’t, so people could learn it quickly. But even Aquata could admit that she could use some help. So when one of the undergrads offered to help, Aquata wasn’t going to say no.
They agreed to meet in one of the practice music rooms at Pride U, and Aquata brought a tray of snacks from Chippamunka’s. She wanted to come off as a cool, fun grad student, after all. “Hey! Thanks for helping me with this,” Aquata said, trying to smile in a friendly way. She knew she could come off as a little intimidating sometimes.

When Amity heard the knock on her door, she wondered who would be the next of her classmates from that 1800 English royalty dream world it would be this time. Seeing as it was Ollie, her instincts had her grabbing the door knob ready to slam it in the boys face. But, his words and what he was holding, plus the fact that the dream world wasn’t the real world stopped her in her tracks.
He brought some pretty freaking tasty snacks as a form of a peace offering. And not just any, but mozzies! She wanted to smile because he remembered their chill time at the New Years party. “Fine.”
She opened the door all the way to let him in. For a good couple seconds, she had no idea how to approach this conversation. Like what does one say to someone who royally dumped them in a dream. “So, why were you such a bitch?”
@oliversaluki
Blame the Dream {Amity & Ollie}
Ollie had some making up to do that was for sure. Sure the dreams were just dreams and you couldn’t place much weight on it. Ollie had learned that a long time ago but that didn’t mean that he didn’t feel bad.
And thankfully his Mom was always willing to help him with baking if the need was there. So here he was with a container of mozzarella sticks knocking at Amity’s door. (Gotta build on the good feelings of New Years)
“Hey? Dream apology snacks?”

Ice Cream Chilling
Yes, Mei was back at her job.
She actually liked being back more than she thought she would. It got her out of the house, forced her to get dressed and shower and be…responsible. It took her out of her head for a while. The only things she thought about was how many scoops someone wanted and the recipes for milkshakes. The work was the perfect amount of mind numbing and mind exercising. Especially now that it was winter. The shoppe was more slow but not slow enough that Mei was stuck with her thoughts for too long.
Just at the moment, she was coming back from the freezer, holding a tub of vanilla ice cream that they had ran out of. The bell above the door rang.
Mei was surprised to recognize the girl who appeared.
Tumblr media
“Uh, yeah! Hi!” Mei said, smiling small. “Amity?”
“Yes! It’s nice to finally meet you, in the real world of course lol!”
In the dream, Amity had known Mei for what had seemed a lifetime. Their families being long-time friends. The idea behind it was really cool. Two badass sorcerer families cheering one another on in magick awareness. That part of the dream had been one of the cooler aspects. The idea of promoting the cause for a unified universe. One where all magicks could be respected for who they were. It was a pretty intense dream after all. Amity had personally found it hard to go to right to sleep for the uneasiness of it happening again.
She returned Mei’s smile with one of her own. "So uh -how you doing Mei?”

Calling Day || Amity + Clara
Clara sucked in a deep breath into her lungs at the sound of the door handle being twisted. Okay! This was it! No freaking out! Act natural! No— act like she had in the dream! Well, wait, she couldn’t do that either. She wasn’t English, she was American, and while her accent had been pretty good in the dream she knew that she could not pull it off in the real world. Or talk like they did back then.
Why had she done this again?
Her eyes widened slightly at the sight of the girl because she was the same one she remembered but — not. Obviously, it wasn’t like Clara had expected her to open the door dressed in regency era garb and her hair done up like it had been. No, she was modernized and, you know, it fit better. All of this did.
The only thing that remained the same was the Music. Her song was still the same one that had played when Clara had met her in that other reality. So she held on to that in the hopes that maybe, just maybe, in this universe they could become friends, too.
Clara giggled at the use of her proper name and nodded, yes, she’d had the dream, too. “Oh! I mean, if you’re not too busy or anything, I’d love to. I know this isn’t flowers or jewelry or anything, but I did bring some snacks! Figured if I was going to be meeting the Viscountess in the flesh I’d better come prepared.”
It initially threw Amity off when Clara’s voice came through in an American accent instead of British. Though, Clara probably thought the same about Amity. Seattle was definitely more than a thousand miles from London. She was surprised, but equally glad that she decided to visit her. The dream was real enough to be shared through all of Swynlake after all.
Amity blushed as she looked at the snacks Clara brought over as friendly greetings.
“Woah woah, what? You didn’t have to bring all of these. I’m definitely no viscountess any time soon, But, thank you, Clara!” She accepted the snacks and placed them on top of the kitchen mantle, snatching some trail mix to munch on while they spoke.
Ushering Clara over to the bean bags, Amity sat down at the one facing the door of the dorm. “So, this dream. Totally unreal, right? Like obviously we all went through it and everything. But, like I’ve never studied anything like it before. Is it like showing us an alternate universe or someone’s warped reality for us? I’ve got so many questions... what do you think?”

Love Letter Task: Sweet Tiana
Tumblr media
-letter was sent some time after the closing ball. Most likely a couple days before their wedding (let’s pretend the blue lines are words she felt like stressing)
Transcription:
My sweet Tiana,
I can not begin to thank you for lighting me with your presence. This former season had been a ruthless one for the both of us, We were led astray by blind love. A love that did not see us for the amazing and brilliant women we are. Yet, my eyes opened when you asked me for your hand. I started to see what a fantastic future we were to have, together! While in your company, I am always comforted. You make me smile, laugh, even when the going get’s tough. I can dance in your arms and even if it is but a second, I feel as though all my problems have gone.
We are to be busy soon, you returning to battle, and me with my singing career. But I shall always write to you and beg you to do the same. Even before this union, we shared a similar ideal and mindset that always kept my trust in you strong. I trust you, Tiana. The word love is is thrown around all the time without meaning, but trust is harder to come by. I trust you deeply and entirely.
-Yours, Amity

Ice Cream Chilling
After a full day of class, Amity decided she would treat herself to an ice cream at Elsa’s. It had been a while since she had ice cream and she had heard that it was the place to go.
Walking into the store, Amity knew what she was going to get. Cotton candy flavor with marshmallows on top. It was her signature choice whenever she went to a new place to her. Before starting her scripted I’ll have the cotton candy she looked up at the attendant. Lady Mei Qin. Mei was one of Vanessa’s friends who was a friend of hers in that dream and her sister was her dream chaperone. She was romantically linked to Ashleigh’s boyfriend, Henry in the dream. It was sure to be a weird convo to talk over. Though, Amity had almost married Oliver in the dream and he has a girlfriend irl too. Much awkwardness was definitely to ensue all around Swnylake.
Before she could think anymore, she smiled. “Hi, Mei right?”

When Amity had woken up, she couldn’t believe the dream she had. Literally the whole town was in some fantasy Pride and Prejudice type of deal. Amity initially blamed the dream on her Bridgerton binge the week before, but when she started to see that everyone was having the same intricate dream, she knew something was up.
What kind of magic linked a whole town in the same dream. The dream felt real, almost life-like. It was if she really was a Viscountess, or whatever the title was called. The balls, promenades, opera, scandal. Amity could carry a song if she wanted, but she was certainly no rich opera singer with some unrequited love thing going on.
Amity had just finished putting on her shoes when she heard a knock on her door. Opening that door was like walking right back into the dream. That face, a friendly, familiar face. “Miss Clara Baudry, wait you must be Clara... You had the dream too?” She must have had the dream. They didn’t know each other outside of that world. Regardless, Amity had to ask in the case she was the one person in town who wasn’t affected. And if the dream was somewhat true, she was a really good person and friend. “Uh, wanna come in?”

Calling Day || Amity + Clara
Kinda crazy what a little bit of manners and the knowledge that her life was in her hands could do to Clara Baudry. It had made her carefree and light and had allowed her to make friends. Within the span of only a few weeks! She barely had anyone she could call that and she had been here for a whole friggin’ year!
Last summer Mei Qin had told her to be ready and open to people, that her relationships were going to be built upon soon enough if she just let them. So far she had managed to build one up with only her hero Mrs. Robinson and thought she was doing a pretty good job with her roommate this year, but other than that? She still felt— lonely.
So, if prim and proper Miss Clara Baudry could make friends, maybe she could piggy back off herself.
Viscountess Amity Blight, if that was her real name, had been easy to find because she lived on her halls in the dorm. After a period of time Clara thought appropriate for everyone getting back into the swing of things post-dream, she had gathered a few snacks and knocked on Amity’s door, biting down hard on her lower lip to keep her mind occupied on that instead of the urge to bolt before someone answered.

Boo reminded herself to get more food after all of this was over, and hopefully she wouldn’t drop this time to be honest the reason why she hadn’t eaten all day was the studying she was doing on ghost and hauntings. She wanted to know why Lucian was haunting her, and what she had done to deserve it.
“Oh no I wish it was actually Boo… um yeah I got it from the demons I used to play with.  And hey sometimes first names are just as cool, as nicknames Amity.” She said before flicking some salad off of her jacket, and internally groaning knowing the whole lunch room had probably seen her little accident.
Boo started following Amity, and raised a eyebrow at her. “ Okay, I don’t know what cool trick you can do with napkins but I am honestly all for it. The only cool thing I can do is twirl knives around and throw them.” She said before laughing a bit, realizing how not sane that sounded at all.
Tumblr media
Demons! Boo played with demons? That was an interesting sentence to think about. Messing with demons wasn’t usually the best thing to do, but it did make Boo pretty baller to do so. Like, it was next level crazy in a brave way. The magizoologist part of her would love to accompany Boo on one of these demon adventures she had, but she’d probably ask when they were closer friends.
Amity smiled “I suppose.” Most of the time, Amity would usually turn down any nickname someone tried to make for her. The worst being Amy.... Amy!? That’s literally some other girls name, she was NO Amy. “You and Rose would probably get along then, with the whole knife thing and all.” She giggled at the remark.
Grabbing a helpful handful of paper towels, Amity walked back over to the mess and winked at Boo. “Check this out Boo.” She took our her wand, hiding in her jean pocket and pointed it at the napkins. She closed her eyes and started centering her thoughts towards moving them. When she opened her eyes, the napkins were working together to soak up all the food and contain it in one easy area to pick up.

Getting into sports was only a very recent development for Vanessa, but she liked the rush of it all. As soon as she passed the ball to Amity, she braced herself, waiting for Jake to toss it back to her. Jake received the ball easily, without so much as breaking a sweat.
“Back to you, V!” he called.
Tumblr media
She backed up a little, then hit the ball to Amity.
“Let’s mix it up now – back to you, Amity.” Instead of hitting the ball to Vanessa, he pivoted it towards Amity. “Let’s get a little looser – think on your feet. Well as best as we can with just three people! If you miss it, don’t worry, just pick it up and go from there.”
Sure enough, as he said that, Vanessa missed the shot flying towards her.
“Ugh,” she groaned, but ran after the ball, tossing it back up in the air.

It looked like a good volley was starting to carry. They had each passed to each other without missing any shot. When Amity was starting to get comfy, Jake changed the directions up. Fuck. She dove for the ball, but missed it curving slightly to the left.
Without a moment to waste, Amity got up and continued passing, taking into account Jake’s words. She bounced on her feet to stay active and focused. She returned the ball Vanessa hit towards Jake, hoping to keep a steady momentum. This tryout was starting not to be as easy anymore. Amity loved a good challenge.

Lady Amity Blight
Tumblr media
Character Name: Amity Blair Blight
Title/occupation: Viscountess
Sponsor: Ting-Ting Darling
Magick Status: Sorceress
Accoutrement: Worn Hymnal
Accomplishments: Singing, Knowing a Foreign Language and Equestrian
Biography: The Blights have always been proud sorcerers, but they put pride aside in order to maintain their families magical lineage and tradition in secret. They rose in rank through trade and marriage and comfortably played their role in society, raising their children to be proper lords and ladies, and teaching them sorcery in the innermost sanctums of Thornwood Manor. They hoped for a brand new day, and That day finally did arrive on Queen Eva and Queen Saskia’s wedding. Oh what a grand day indeed! With one of their queens being a sorceress herself, it was now more than ever for Amity to find love and be betrothed this social season.
Amity Blair Blight, aged 21 and the eldest of the three Blight children, inherited the Viscountess title that came from being a Blight. With her beautiful soprano singing voice comparable to the nightingale, fluent knowledge of the Italian language, and proficient horse-riding ability, the Blights hoped Amity would wed during this, her first season. The Qin’s and Blights have long been family friends. Thus, all of the Blights were ecstatic when Ting-Ting Darling agreed upon being Amity’s chaperone. Amity is thrilled to be chaperoned under not only a sorceress, but a friend.

“I like math most of the time. I mean, I couldn’t really study physics without it. But doing math for exams is terrible and I hate it. But that could also just be because I’m discovering that I hate exams.” This was her first time ever having to do something like timed finals, and the idea was haunting to her. It wasn’t enough to learn something, she had to prove that she had learned it in a drastically short amount of time. Who came up with this idea?
But Amity’s excitement had her smiling happily in response. She loved this space, but she didn’t have that many people to share it with. It looked like Amity would be a perfect person to join her here and appreciate it for what it was.
“Nope, not really. Especially not once you go onto the Dragon platform.” Boosting herself over the west balcony, she made the short drop to the wide open platform to the side of the belltower. “Supposedly, this was constructed for dragons to land on before going inside. I have no idea if that’s true, but it makes for a good story. And a really nice flat space. But not that many people come up, so I haven’t had anyone comment on getting seen. And I don’t really use aether like that? It’s more like…a binding agent. I have to know it to understand how it connects to light and to fire. Sort of a joint?”
Tumblr media
Amity had never failed a class, but she did get a B in her Algebra II class. What a nightmare had that been. “I agree. Math exams are difficult. They give us the same time they’d give for any other easy class to psych us out. I’d rather finish the whole test and struggle the whole way through it than miss questions that I had the chance to get right, if I only had more time.”
It was a perfect location, indeed! No one able to look up should they be anti-magick. She enjoyed learning how it was supposedly built to help various dragons land on top of where they were currently standing. “Wow. We just started learning about Quetzalcoatl’s in Magizoology. To actually be training where one could have landed, well it’s a remarkable feeling. Thank you so much Eilonwy”
“Ah ok, I understand. It’s not the main catalyst but rather helps support the spell to be casted. It doesn’t make you tired then? Every time I do animation spells, I end up winded from the stamina it takes due to the aether I expend.”

Lab Partners || Amity + Eric
The praise lifted his spirits and he allowed himself to smile at it. She didn’t have to say it and heaven knows that she could have very well given him all kinds of critique for being slow with something that could have probably only taken her the first try to achieve. He appreciated it, though. The building up instead of the tearing down.
He followed along, nodding slowly, as she explained the next part of the process to him. Right, yeah, that sounded like what the written instructions had been trying to tell him to do. Except it was a lot easier for him to understand when she said it out loud and without all the extra fat that they implemented into it. Maybe all that helped other people to understand, but all Eric really needed was the straight forward answers on what to do. Which Amity had so kindly given to him.
At first he was still caught up, thinking she was continuing to explain as she reached for the coverslip and turned back to him. Only she wasn’t— she was telling him they were getting on to the next step right now. Eric bent forward more, as if being closer to the slide would help him see what he was doing that was already right in front of him.
On Amity’s go! Eric touched the dropper to the slide and squeezed until the sly had itself placed on the glass then he shot backward out of her way to let her take the reigns to do her part.
Emira had told her once that she occasionally had a resting bitch face. It was the first she had ever heard the term, and was befuddled about it’s meaning. She got the bitch part. That was the part of the joke intended to hurt Amity’s feelings and depict her as some cold uncouth girl who didn’t care about anyone, which was false. She cared about those she knew enough to publicly express it. But, what she didn’t understand was what rest had to do with it and she frankly didn’t want to know.
It was actually nice seeing Eric’s smile. While she didn’t return the smile, she nodded instead. It reminded her how very human she actually was, despite her sister’s ever so nagging claims as to otherwise. She was also glad he was getting more confident after her explanation of what they had to do. He was sporty after all. As long as clear and direct explanations were made, success would ensue.
And success sure did. Eric had prepped the fly in the slide. She had no notes to give him except a thumbs up with her left hand as she used the dropper to put a drop of tea on the fly. After covering it up, she set the side up in the slide and took a peek. “Ok perfect. This is exactly what we want. You can definitely see the heart pulsating.” She moved over to give Eric a peek.

Amity couldn’t contain the thrill of using the potion, and briefly took the empty bottle out from her pocket to show Devyn. “So, I made this brew some nights ago. It’s a language potion that allows me to be able to converse in any other language. It took me nearly a year to perfect the crafting of language potions back in like 10th grade.”
Siblings... While Amity didn’t know Devyn’s siblings to cast any judgement, she certainly knew the feeling of siblings making you do things you didn’t want to do. Even if Devyn’s music was loud, Amity could understand not wanting to lower it when they finally had some independence.
“I hear you. Dang Devyn, math isn’t easy. I take it you must be good with numbers and formulas then? The last thing I remember was derivatives and in Calc I... yeah that wasn’t the best class for me.”
A smirk rose on Amity’s face, as she loved talking about magic anytime she could. “Well, I was in my room practicing some spell casting. It didn’t really have to do with class, it was more of a personal training. It’s not a loud experience unless you mess up enough to start yelling at yourself, which I really try not to do, but sometimes get the better of myself.”
“Oh, I do love a good song that really pumps you up. I’m an electric pop girl, but I can always vibe to a good rock song thanks to my mom. She has a whole CD collection of different rock singers that she’s played over the years , but our favorite has to be the iconic Stevie Nicks!”

Ocean of Noise || Devity
the-grom-queen:
Amity couldn’t help but devilishly grin at their complete surprise of her very new ability to sign. This utter astonishment only confirmed that the potion had taken effect. She was so thrilled she could do a happy dance right now, but like… not in company… never,
Ah the apology she had been looking for! This stuff was working great because she was able to fully understand their tone while signing to know they were answering earnestly. Amity could definitely work with that. Any final form of an enraged brow went away as a small smile started to form on her face. “Thanks. All’s good now dude. I really do appreciate the honesty. Not trying to step on your freedom either.” Now they could each go their own ways without disliking one another.
As she started to head out, she realized she had forgotten to introduce herself as Devyn spelled their name. “Hey Devyn, I’m A-M-I-T-Y. By the way, your music wasn’t bad at all. That’s part of the reason why I got mad… it was good. Good and loud enough to get me distracted listening to it pretty quick.” She continued signing “So I take it you’re a rock fan? Me too. I like some good classic rock every now and then.”
@devyn-morey
Devyn noticed the grin and wondered how she had managed to do what she was currently doing. She certainly seemed proud and Devyn wondered what it was that she seemed so happy about. Whatever it was, Devyn supposed that they were happy for her as well. They held off from asking, though, not wanting to be a bother to the other.
“Oh, my brothers are always yelling at me to turn it down. Figured no one was around so it wouldn’t matter if I blasted it. Didn’t know you were here.” Devyn explained again, shifting nervously from foot to foot. “It’s great to meet you too, Amity! I didn’t mean to distract you. What were you studying?
