What does untracked versus tracked mean for audio and video bootlegs?

I’ve not seen it on video bootlegs. But for audios it refers to the format of the files. If it says untracked, that means the whole show is in the same audio file (or sometimes one file for each act). If it’s tracked, that means that the person who recorded it split it up so each song is a separate audio file. This is usually preferred so you can skip songs or just listen to your favorite song without having to search through an audio file that’s over an hour long.

Here’s another piece I made for the art challenge I’m hosting on my art instagram. I can’t quite put my finger on why I loved Alice by Heart so much. Alice in Wonderland has always been one of my favorite stories and I did connect with this version of Alice a lot as I can definitely understand wanting to escape reality within a story but it’s more than that. This show is just so beautiful and deserved so much better. I hope someday this show gets another chance so more people can experience its beauty.

Alright y’all, if you don’t know about the goodness that is Kiss Me Kate, let me tell you, you’re missing out. Yes this musical may be a bit old fashioned for some people but you shouldn’t count it out. Roundabout Theater produced an updated version of this show earlier this year and I was lucky enough to see it. I went in knowing little about the show except it had an all star cast and it was about actors performing Shakespeare and I enjoyed this show more than I’ve enjoyed a show in a long time (even considering the fire alarm going off part way through). I went in excited to see Lois Lane as Stephanie Styles was playing her and I’ve been following Stephanie since I saw her on tour with Newsies. I knew nothing about her character so it was very interesting to see the different elements of Lois unfold throughout the show. When we first meet her, she can seem a bit shallow and uncaring but as the show progresses, we see that she is very driven. She knows what she wants and she’s not afraid to go after her dreams no matter what others may think of her methods. She also cares very deeply, even if she shows it in her own fashion. Lois also has my favorite songs in the show which only makes me love her more.

For those of you that don’t know, I like to create lots of different kinds of art. I’m currently hosting a Broadway themed art and lettering challenge on my art Instagram. This is a painting I did in photoshop about 2 years ago, actually, and I added the lettering as my response to a prompt from earlier this week asking for my favorite lead role. Julia was the reason I first fell in love with Bandstand. I decided to listen to the soundtrack because I’m a big fan of Laura Osnes and the first time I heard her first song, Who I Was, I just about started crying as I drove. The story told in Bandstand and the story of this character in particular are so raw and vulnerable and beautiful that you can’t help but be touched by it. (If you’re not familiar with this show, it’s heading out on tour and I 100% recommend you see it if you can). I modeled the lettering after the lettering on the cast album artwork.
