Hey. Don't support The Crowded Room. I don't care if Tom Holland is involved or not, Dissociative Identity Disorder (otherwise known as Multiple Personality Disorder, although that's an old diagnosis that doesn't even exist anymore) is a highly stigmitised mental disorder that is heavily linked to trauma, and media villianising the disorder is extremely harmful for systems everywhere. Don't give it your attention, don't give it your money. We do not need another Split.
Edit: Singlets (non-systems) have no right to talk over me, a system, here. Doing that will result in being blocked. You all may interact, but don't comment on it

You might have seen previous posts I’ve made about my black nonbinary disabled friend. (I’m alternating pronouns for a reason) Situation: They are recovering from their grave injuries from when a white man hit them with a car and the police made the situation worse, as well as from the other physical complications from previous intense abuse and domestic violence. He lost part of his vision, hearing, memory recall, and cannot walk as of yet. Her abusers destroyed her belongings and apartment. She is not living with them anymore. She is out of the hospital for now. He has been getting racist, whorephobic, and ableist harassment and discrimination irl and online. Basically: Since it cannot work now and the disability + financial aid process is being difficult, it still need funds now to replace it’s damaged clothing, get some food, and other necessities and bare essentials - including things for it’s disability. I am not currently in a position where I am able to help them financially. The current goal, for now, is $500.

where Fitz is nine and Sophie is seven and it really is a small world
Everything is falling apart and Sophie can’t believe her parents are telling her it’s going to be okay. Because, it’s not. Her stuffed elephant, her favorite toy, the light of her life and protector from nightmares, is missing. Ella is missing and they should have alerted the entire police force and the president.
“Oh, please calm down, Sophie!” Her mother sighed in frustration and ran a hand through her curly brown hair. She kept shushing Sophie, but she refused to stop crying until this absolute tragedy was resolved.
“I- want- Ella!” Sophie huffed in between sobs, her blue blouse soaked with all her shed tears. Her father rubbed her back in an attempt to comfort her, but she pushed him away and cried even harder.
They were on a day-trip to Disneyland and she had dragged her parents to It’s a Small World because the castle just looked so pretty. Once they got on the ride, Sophie was so entranced by the colorful dolls and loud music (and who wouldn’t?) that she completely forgot about Ella. Now, she was crying her eyes out by the exit, the stuffed toy missing from her. And she needed that elephant! Why couldn’t her parents see that?
Everything was blurry and hazy and completely miserable without her companion. She heard her mom whispering words to her and she saw kids giving her odd looks as they passed by, but none of it mattered to Sophie. She just wrapped her arms around her small body, missing Ella who would have been much better to hug.
“Sir, Ma’am?” A stranger tapped her father on the shoulder and he stood up to face them. “Yes?”
“Does this belong to you?” And everything made sense again when he showed Ella.
“Ella!” Sophie cried, launching towards her stuffed toy and snatching it away from the stranger who was surely holding her wrong. Finally, her best friend was back in her arms. Ella’s soft fur was such a familiar feeling that she couldn’t help but cry a few tears in relief.
“Thank you so much. She really wouldn’t stop crying without her toy.” Her mother gave the stranger a grateful look. He shook his head and said, “Don’t thank me, Ma’am, it was a young boy who found it and was nice enough to give it to us. He said he found it sitting beside him.”
“Well, thank you to that boy, and thank you anyway.” Her father smiled and shook hands with him. He turned his gaze to Sophie and chuckled as she clutched Ella tightly. “Are you happy now, Soybean?”
Sophie nodded aggressively and took her mom’s hand when she offered it. They were leaving the castle at last, but she felt the need to sneak one last look at its tall twirling towers and bright shimmering walls.
There was something about it…. Like a feeling of returning. And she didn’t think it came from having her elephant returned to her. No, it was much deeper than that.
(One day, she would look at a better castle with a boy who made her feel the same way.)
“Come on, honey.” Her mother tugged on her arm and the feeling faded as quickly as it came. Sophie looked back at her parents and grinned at their smiling faces. She tightened her hold on Ella and everything was back to normal.
;;;
People. There were many, many, many people here. Fitz didn’t even think it was possible for so many people to all be in one place. And it wasn’t even that great of a place, to begin with! Adults were dressed in costumes of grinning mice and long floppy-eared dogs and ducks with no pants, but a shirt, and people were just taking pictures with them like they were celebrities.
He knew that the human world would be different, but Fitz didn’t know it would be this weird. What was he even doing here?
“Since this will be your first trip, I’m sending you to an amusement park, so it’ll be fun!” His father told him while zipping up his back-pack. “All you need to do is find this girl and see if she’s like one of us.”
“But, how will I find her?” He asked, looking at the girl’s auburn hair in the picture. Alden smiled and patted his head. “You’re smart, son. I know you can find a way. Just don’t come home too late or your mother will have my head.”
It was already the afternoon and he was seriously doubting if the girl his dad had told him to find was even real. This park was huge. Fitz picked up a map by the entrance and there were, like, seven different areas filled with rides and stands. How would he even find her in this place?
The dread was increasingly seeping into his head and it was like his chest was getting heavier and heavier with pressure, but suddenly-- in the corner of his eye, he saw a grand castle with cogs turning and twisting around it. He wasn’t arrogant enough to compare it to his own house, but he did admit that it wasn’t too impressive as to what he was used to.
He knew he had to move on and continue his never-ending search for this girl, but his gaze kept drifting back towards the colorful walls of the castle and the children pulling their parents toward it. Whether it reminded him of home or the strange feeling in his chest, there was just something about it that made him want to take a look.
So he does, and Fitz is reminded again of how completely bizarre the human world is. I mean, why are there dolls? Like, so many dolls? And why are they singing and dancing and-- what the heck is that doll riding a surfboard meant to be, and why is it blue?
Just when they turned the corner to another part of the ride with more singing dolls, but this time with berets, Fitz decided he has had enough and after this, he just wants to go home where there are no singing dolls and only a mildly annoying sister.
When he ducks his head in an attempt to block the noise, he finds a stuffed elephant with a bright yellow Hawaiian shirt, looking right at him. It was balancing on the edge of a platform and was definitely very out of place. It’s so amusing and unexpected that it brings a smile to his face.
Call him delusional, but the more he looked at it, the more he thought the blue elephant looked kind of sad. Like it was lost. And Fitz knew all about being lost.
The feeling or pull, the one from earlier that brought him here to begin with, came back again and much stronger this time. He knew he had to return that elephant to whoever it belonged to.
Thankfully, everyone around him was either looking around in wonder (again, why?) or looking at their phones, so he told himself that it was fine that he used his skills to rescue the elephant. His telekinesis was still really flimsy because his dad had only started teaching him at the beginning of summer, but he managed to wobbly float the toy over to the boat and plop it into his arms.
It was cute. It was soft and he guessed that it would have been nice to hug when you got lonely. He thought about the owner and how if it was his stuffed toy, he would be devastated to lose it. A gush of pride filled his chest and his trip didn’t seem so bad anymore now that he could return this toy.
Fitz handed the toy to the attendant the minute he stepped off the ride, telling them that he found it beside him on the boat. The attendant smiled at him and said he was a good kid for turning it in. Before he could reply, a glimpse of auburn hair from outside the ride got his attention. The girl! He had completely forgotten about his mission, all because of a stuffed elephant. A smart boy indeed.
The attendant looked at him weirdly when he dashed off to the exit to chase after her. He could barely see the back of her purple dress and those big mouse ears everyone else was wearing as he pushed past families with strollers. He had nearly caught up to her when she turned her head and-- her eyes were green.
Fitz sighed and his shoulders dropped. So that wasn’t the girl they were looking for. He wondered if this is what it would be like every time his dad sent him to find her.
Dejectedly, he turned around and looked back at the castle he had just sprinted out of. It was still unimpressive and now that he knew what was in it, he never wanted to go back inside. But there was that feeling again. It didn’t look like his home and he certainly didn’t feel at home inside it, but he still felt drawn to it. Like he was meant to be there.
(One day, he would look at his home with a girl who gave him that same feeling.)
A loud song started playing from the speakers and he was knocked out of his trance. Fitz shook his head, the feeling leaving his body. He was getting loopy and that meant that he was probably spending too much time here. It was time he went back home and told his dad that the girl wasn’t who they were looking for and then take a long nap

Sophitz Week Prompt 1: Academic Rivals
Posting day: June 22
Reminders: The inspiration below is solely that—inspiration. The prompt is for your interpretation, and there are no limits on what you create from it. Medium, length, etc.—all up to you. One sentence is just as valid as 1000 words; it’s not a competition (but don’t overwork yourself)!
Inspiration - Writers
“We’re the two top competitors in mathletes/another academic competition, and I really want to beat you because I’m Fitz Vacker and can’t let my reputation slip. But also you’re way better at this than me and definitely going to beat me. Now I’m insecure, which is a brand-new feeling that I do not like.”
“You beat me in a spelling bee in seventh grade once, and I’ve wanted to be friends (or more) with you ever since. But you’re so impossibly out of my league for even friendship that I don’t think we could ever happen…. Oh shoot, we’re paired up for an academic competition/class project.”
“I was super smug because I started beating you in grades for the first time since second grade, but it turns out that your parents forced you to do more poorly because you were getting too much attention. Now I’m ready to start punching things.”
Inspiration - Artists
I’m guessing most of you already have ideas, but if you don’t, this prompt has a lot to do with contrast. Sophie’s nerves vs. Fitz’s confidence, Sophie’s avoidance of attention vs. Fitz’s seeking of it, Fitz’s formality vs. Sophie’s casualness. You might play around with teal and it’s opposite color, maroon, or with Foxfire and Exillium uniforms. Or you could forego the idea of contrast entirely and draw them as teammates for a competition—it’s up to your interpretation.

hi, i’m ao3 author owedbetter. and i need your help.
you may know me from my work such as “i’m still here”, “something you build”, and “this might as well happen”, some of my zutara fics on ao3/ffn. hence why i’m putting this in the zutara tag.
i could use your help, gang.
a few weeks ago, we found ten tumors in my thyroid gland. after some testing, i now need a thyroidectomy to test and see if it’s benign or cancerous. i’m going to have to pay for a strong majority of this out of pocket because there is just no relying on national healthcare in the philippines.
anyway, i’m paying for most of this out of pocket. including the pre-op lab tests and the antibiotics and the COVID swab tests and the consultation fees with my doctor, etc. there are so many costs.
my friends have set up a gofundme for me to help with costs. full details are in the posts on there, including where we’re at now as i got my FNA biopsy results today.
if y’all could share the link on your socials, donate what you’re able to give, etc… i would appreciate that very much.
thanks, y’all.
all my love, jo x
