"Elliot, it was on the floor considerably more than that." Maria said shaking her head because it had stunk, and had she not known that this was par for the course with teenage boys she'd probably have had words with him about keeping on top of the washing.
"Oh, of course you're allowed out darling, I'm just interested in where you're going is all." Maria replied and honestly, if she was incredibly worried she could find out exactly where he was going without ever considering his powers. She had the connections. However she wanted both him and Ella to have some independence, the ability to have privacy. She wanted them to know she trusted them, as much as one could trust teenagers. "Ella is out at art club and when she comes home she'll tell me all about it. Without prompt." Maria said with quiet sigh. "If you're partying, that's okay as long as you're safe and you know if you need me I'm here."
It had crossed Maria's mind that perhaps trying to be so balanced, trying to give forward her own childhood, might be making Elliot worse. She was rarely terribly strict with them, she didn't feel like she needed to be and she was quite open and honest with them in her approach as they came into being teenagers. There was no one in the house for them to really rebel against though, no real bad cop parental father figure. Even her dad, who accepted them readily and treated them like they'd always been his grandkids was a soft touch.

Maybe until Monday morning-" Then again, he had no idea when he'd last seen it until now and he had spent the whole of Friday night jumping with the beat so... Maybe she was right. "Well... Am I not allowed out?" He asked, tapping his fingers against the kitchen counter as he looked at the window instead of Maria. "Ella is out." At an art club, not usually the same place Elliot frequented.

"Is the half an important distinction?" Maria chuckled as she watched him, unsure now if she should have reacted at all to Sora in the picture but it was a shock because it felt like Sora and Joe couldn't be further apart in terms of how they came across. Joe has such a calming energy, Sora on the other hand was chaos, like a whirlwind leaving at least some trace of herself wherever she'd been.
"Things can't be that bad if she's on a photo in your locker so I'm assuming you're on speaking terms." Maria said tentatively. "She's been here, quite a bit, MI6 were helping Kingsman and we met after she'd been routing around in the archives without my permission." Maria laughed and shook her head. "Then she took me for a drink over at Kingsman HQ. Her and Yuki have a bit of a pass around here now." She admitted. "Does she know you're here?"
The tea cups rattled about the tray as Joe nearly tripped on the rug upon hearing Maria name his sister. He paled slightly setting the tea ware upon the teak table.
It wasn’t something that either of them advertised openly, being half siblings they looked nothing alike. Joe did recall Sora was liaising for Kingsman. But the fact someone as sweet as Maria knew his motor head younger sibling made his mind swim with what engineering mess Sora had involved herself with at MI6.
“Yes, half sibling - You know her?” he replied clearing his throat. An answer they shared when their sibling disputes were at their peak and not gambling related.
“She’s quiet the…..ummm..…If you don’t mind me asking, how do you know Sora?”

"Forever and a day." Maria replied.
Maria sighed and looked away from him for a moment. It felt late, the stars were out, it was dark the sun long since disappeared but there was a stillness to the night, that quiet with only the soft sounds of nature in the evening around. The sort of quiet that made the laughter and joy of drunk people on their way home all the louder.
"I probably should actually walk home. My grandparents are already going to be intolerable given I've disappeared with you, if I'm out all night, all kissed out with this ridiculous smile on my face they'll be unbearable." She chuckled and looked back at him. "Though I am finding it very hard to let go right now." Maria said.
God, he enjoyed this far too much. He could have easily got lost in this moment, in the kiss. In her. The world around them ceased to exist, nothing mattered anymore. Only the girl his arms were moving around now. Only her lips pressed to his. Only her heartbeat he could have sworn he felt against his own chest.
He wanted to put his hand on it, frankly. Wanted to feel her heart beat underneath his touch. Wanted to be so close to her, nothing could get inbetween them…
A hum broke from his throat, and although he wanted to go on, never wanted to let go, Gareth felt the need to breathe again. His lungs were starting to burn.
He pulled away a bit, sucking in a shaky breath. His lips tingling from the kiss still as a smile began to tug on them.
“I could…do this forever,” Gareth muttered, chuckling softly.
