I may need to postpone chapter 5 a week or two as much as I hate to do so, but my current workload is beginning to pile up faster than I thought it would. I thought I’d have more time to finish the first five chapters of the book before I have to go on hiatus, but that’s looking less likely. I’ll do my best, but if there isn’t an update by Sunday you’ll all know why. I’ll try my best to get Chapter 5 out soon before I officially go on hiatus.

There’s a fic on fanfiction(.)net that I’ve kept tabs on for years to see if it’s been updated or not. While I’m no longer even in the fandom it’s written for, it just has one of the greatest storylines I’ve ever read. Last time it was updated was 2011.

The other day, I decided to reread the entire thing and leave a very in-depth review of what I thought of each chapter. I also mentioned how I started reading it when I was 13 and am now 21, but always came back to see if it was ever finished because I loved it so dearly.

Today, said author sent me a private message saying that her analytics showed that the story was still getting views even after all these years, but no one ever bothered to leave reviews other than “update soon!!!”, so she never felt motivated enough to finish it. She said that me reviewing every single chapter with lengthy paragraphs made her cry and meant the world to her. She also mentioned that she felt encouraged to write the two remaining chapters needed to complete the story and that she would send me a message the night before she updates the fic.

I’m literally sobbing. I’m so excited :’)

Please always remember to leave a review when reading fanfiction!!! It means a lot to a writer.

Severed Ways Announcement 2: Electric Boogaloo

HELLO. I’ve been gone and busy and will continue to be gone and busy in a few weeks because I am a gene colorist for Paw Borough! Check it out, Kickstarter’s coming in a couple months.

ANYWAYS. I’ve been busy with moving and being burnt out and working on cat stuff. TCOS is still happening, in fact here’s a fun little preview of the cover I commissioned @harriertail for -

So! While I do have the skeleton of the whole book finished and ready, I have drafts of just the first five chapters done. My game plan right now is to finish those and have those uploaded on a schedule before going on break again while I work on other stuff, mainly Pawborough color work. Here’s a schedule that I’m crossing my fingers I’ll be able to keep up with.

May 7: Allegiances & Prologue

May 14: Chapter 1 (Ottercall)

May 21: Chapter 2 (Thornpaw)

May 28: Chapter 3 (Sunnyheart)

June 4: Chapter 4 (Wolfpaw)

June 11: Chapter 5 (Wolfpaw)

After these, I’ll be going on hiatus again. Partly to draft out the next five chapters, but also to work and take a break. See you all Saturday!

Quick announcement regarding Book 2!

Hi! A quick update.

I’ve been moving, we only just got moved in all the way Tuesday, but we still have a lot to unpack and get to. I’ve also been dealing with some personal things that make it hard for me to work on writing. Et cetera.

That said, Book 2 WILL still be making its way to AO3 before summer! (At least, I really hope so). I’m not clear on if I announced it here to begin with, but for now I’m adjusting the Book 2 release date as a soft May 2022 start date.
