Actually I don't think that's the case, mainly because when they travel to other places, while they're in an era, it's still that era in the second place they visit. For example, in ch1 they travel from London to Chicago, and also in the star chapter, the investigator travels all the way to Egypt from the foundation headquarters, and the era is still the same. However, from ch5 we know that the storm can move forward in time (it went from 1915 to 1966, I think?), so what I think will happen is that at some point in the future, it'll bring us to the 90's, since both the Uluru games and the Green Lake event take place in this era.
As further proof, if there were areas where the storm hadn't reached, it'd be 2007, not 1991. If only the 80's storm had reached it, maybe it could be possible, but I'd still take it with a grain of salt.
Also, in the case of Aperion, the island itself has a radius that's immune to the storm, which is what they calculated.
Tumblr media
So from this note alone in the event, this sets the Uluru Games event is around 1991. Which also confirms another thing about the Storm.
It has a radius.
It's already been stated how certain shelters protect them from the Storm, but another way is to predict the impact radius and make it a safe amount of distance to avoid the torrential rain like how Apeiron tried to do with their expeditioners.
Meaning certain parts of the world has been reversed to a certain era, but could remain that era for a longer time in comparison to other places that the Storm has touched often. And if the Storm behaves like actual weather, it's unsurprising that a place like Australia has lesser exposure while areas like Europe is struggling to get through the Storm.

Thoughts on the Revival of the Uluru games event
Alright, first of all, I'd like to start by saying that I did like the event. It was a fun little adventure, with interesting characters and complex interactions, and it actually made the laugh at some parts. Plus, it's a nice breather from all the angst of the main story. That said... I also think it's very weak on some parts and it could've been better done. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that The Theft of the Rimmet Cup (my least favorite story event) had slightly better writing than this.
(Spoilers under the line!)
The story itself has many problems, but I think the main one is the lack of a proper villain. Sure, we have Mr. Papparazi (forgot his name tbh), but his connection to the story is only with Dessert Flannel and his motivation is rather vague up until the very end of the last episode. Imo the story would've been better if we didn't have a villain at all and we instead focused on the conflict convincing the foundation to bring back the Uluru games and getting people exited for them again or something. We didn't need Mr. Papparazi and the story suffered a lot because of his existence.
Then we also have the ending... and, well... I don't dislike it? I think the message of "humans and arcanists coming together to compete, not to fight" is a nice one, and very needed in this universe. That said, I actually hate the execution. Let me explain.
So, we had Flannel telling Ezra about how Arcanists get injured more easily than humans, but because they heal fast, what they do is take an unhealthy amout of painkillers to bare with the pain until they get back to health like 15 minutes later, and they do this to be able to compete against humans in contact sports. It's even implied that Spathodea herself has likely done this as well, since she practices boxing, and it's obviously a metaphor for irl drug abuse in athletes.
Now, my problem is that the above stablishes the need for an arcanist-only sports festival, and the importance of the Uluru games... but then they say humans will be competing in the Uluru games as well! Do you see the problem?
Imo if they wanted the message to be "humans and arcanist should do sports together", then the problem with arcanists in human sports should've been different. Like, idk, arcanists having to hide their identity in order to not be disqualified from human sports, or maybe not being allowed to compete professionally because they're viewed as "too volatile" or something. But the problem they presented goes against the message of the ending of the event.
Idk, maybe I'm being a bit too harsh on it because it's a clear drop of quality compared to 1.2 and 1.3, but please let me know what you think!

Sonetto: The most voilent character in the suitcase
No, this isn't a joke... well, it kinda is? But I also have proof that Sonetto is very violent and impulsive, despite also being the by-the-book righteous girl we know her to be.
First of all, in the epilogue, Sonetto and Regulus fight, and then Regulus falls to the ground, clutching her arm and saying it's broken. Now, we know she was just pretending, but Sonetto didn't know that, and what was her response?
Tumblr media
I mean... if your enemy is already on the ground, and seemingly injured, why ask her to fight you again??? Wtf Sonetto. Good thing Vertin had her own agenda and prevented further confrontation.
Then, in ch1, Sonetto and Sotheby are lost in the underground Laberynth of the Walden and then finally see a stage behind a brick wall. Sotheby even remarks it looks like there's a party outside. Sonetto's immediate response? She wants to blast the freaking wall.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Again, she has to be stopped, this time by Sotheby, who reminds her that an explosion could hurt ppl and they shouldn't act so impulsively. Starting to see a pattern here?
Then, after Forget me Not delivers the "good news" and the gang escapes through the Laberynth, they run into another pair of Italians.
Tumblr media
Schneider is carrying Marian on her back and comforting her, not to mention that the two girls look very alike. Yet, when Sonetto sees this sight, she accuses her of being the one who had been torturing Marian and then, without waiting for an explanation, immediately attacks rather violently (the game even points it out).
Tumblr media
Granted, there are also instances where this violent side of Sonetto comes in handy, like all the times she fights the manus, but especially when she's told Vertin joined the enemy and Schneider died, and she responds by seeking vengace through combat.
Tumblr media
Schneider even remarks that Sonetto was rather fierce during the fight.
BUT we're not done yet with Sonetto's impulsiveness! In ch3 someone is following her around at the rehabilitation center and, after unsuccessfully trying to lose them, she grabs a trash bag and puts it on their head.
Tumblr media
Now, imo this was very reasonable and smart, since she didn't know who was following her. What was a bit more problematic however, is that she then proceeded to beat this individual, whose identity was still unknown to her btw, despite the fact that Matilda didn't attack her and was just trying to escape.
And finally... the one impulsive act that almost cost Sonetto her own life:
Tumblr media
She broke the vow of silence and attacked Arcana in the hall of truth despite the oath she made and the fact that Arcana didn't even try to get close to them; we just see her clapping and then putting a finger to her lips to indicate silence, yet Sonetto immediately casted a spell.
Now, I don't want to be too hard on her, I know this is what she was taught to do all her life, plus it's her nature as a protective doggo to act this way, but I do think it's something she should work on.
Plus, it's kinda hilarious that a character whose signature phrase is "may the peace be with us" is anything but peaceful, don't you think? XD

Yes to all of this. And also, Vertin could sense Schneider's use of arcane skills while they were in the labrynth, confirming it was actually her casting a spell, and not some kind of illusion or tech or something.
You could argue that maybe it was thanks to Druvis' improvement of her guns, but if that was the case, why would the Manus give magical guns to a human? She probably had been pretending to be an arcanist before the Manus even approached her, and likely had a normal wand and a normal gun before Druvis made the improved version. But of course, this is just speculation.
Hope this mystery gets solved in the future.
More Loading Screens confirming humans "can't" use arcanum.
Tumblr media
According to this Humans like Ezra and Schneider don't have Incantations and Arcane Skills per say, but they command scientific technology in place of real arcanum.
BUT While we know Schneider had a special gun, Sonetto explicitly explains that she was "a human who could use arcane skills". In my opinion the fact they emphasized this means Schneider was special.
Especially in hindsight. Arcanists and Humans are biologically different in many ways. Also, it seems like humans can't sense arcanists, but arcanists can sense other arcanists? Yet Schneider slipped under the radar. This is speculation of course but food for thought. So far, arcanists have no problem recognizing other arcanists when they're in the same room. At least, I think that's how it's gone so far?

I’ve always known that to most people Arab lives are not worth mentioning, let alone caring for. But seeing it proved in my lifetime through a literal genocide is actually making me short-circuit. I can’t believe this is happening I can’t believe most aid orgs are withdrawing from Palestine I can’t believe nothing is being done

looking at (vetted) gofundmes for people trying to escape palestine and i don't know how many of you actually click on the gofundme links you reblog but i would like to point out, for what it's worth, just how amazing it is that so many have raised so much money. it may overall feel like a drop in the ocean but the fact that several gofundmes have raised tens of thousands of dollars is amazing. it is so expensive to leave gaza right now, and people still need money after they escape. but regardless of what propaganda the US, UK, canada, and other western nations are trying to pump out, people across the world are doing what they can to help these people survive. many of them are still very far from their goals (like this one and this one and this one) and some of them are very close to high goals (like this one), and some of them have reached almost double their original goal.
and that's not even addressing direct aid or organizations that take continuous donations for distribution of food, menstrual products, etc. the PCRF has raised $16,000,000 of their target goal of $20,000,000 to fund current aid and long-term relief efforts in gaza. ANERA's febuary 13th update discusses the material ways they helped palestinians today:

(ANERA donate link)
my point is, it often feels like the world is turning a blind eye to palestine. but i would like to point out that there is an important difference between "the world" and "western political leaders and media narratives". a breathtaking amount of real people, the people who make up the world, are trying to help. in the face of israel attempting to commit genocide, the world is saying No. These people deserve to live. and literally sending millions of dollars internationally, through the internet connection that israel has desperately been trying to destroy.
it may not feel like it matters in the grand scheme of things. but to the people who get fresh clothes, or a hot meal, or blankets, or the kids who get new toys, or to the people who are able to bring their families to safety, it matters to them. go make someone's day better. i've linked so many options with ways to do that.

the reason it is necessary to educate yourself on colonialism and specifically on settler colonialism is that it is very easy to be stupid and think about asymmetric power as bad strategic decisions in a war, like the average blue-check replying "FAFO" under every palestinian death toll. there is some kind of comfort in believing that a colonial power can be out-strategized or appealed to and that palestinians somehow have been making the same strategic mistakes for 75 years which is why they're being genocided (this is what stupid people believe and evil people are trying very desperately to get stupid people to believe)
but once you understand it is a colonial struggle and not a war, patterns begin to emerge. no colonized people "lost" a war because no colonized people have ever asked for a war nor have they engaged in one. colonialism imposes war upon indigenous people. colonizers come to you in your home, where you are a civilian, and force a fighter out of you. every civilian is now engaged in an existential struggle simply due to the bad luck of existing in a home coveted by colonizers.
many complexities have been manufactured to disguise this simple truth. but across the world—in canada, in algeria, in south africa, in the united states, in australia, in lebanon, in the philippines, in hawaii, in puerto rico, in argentina, in sudan, in india, in every region that has experienced colonialism (and that is almost every region in the world) this remains the base truth of it. and it is also instinctively why everyone recoils at the images of idf soldiers gleefully dancing on the ruins of gaza. it doesn't look like victory in war, does it? there's no honor nor achievement in it. the more they kill, the ease with which they do it, more obvious it is. it looks like what it is.

Do people realize that Israel is so unrestrained that it’s now launching attacks in Lebanon and Syria as well. Do people realize how little Arab people mean to these genocidal maniacs that they are now killing people in three Arab countries. Can genocide apologists pause their pure hatred for Arabs to at the very least admit this. Or are we going to pretend that Israel has a reason to be intensifying attacks in Damascus right now

why should palestinians have to leave behind their land because israel wont stop killing them. why should anyone have to leave behind their life and memories and sentimental value just because an aggressor is left unchallenged. please think this sentiment through and delete it from your thoughts. instead of blaming an oppressed people for living in a hostile land, ask who is making that land hostile to live in.
