Can You tell us a little bit more about Lyna and Tamlen ( the first Tamlen ) relationship? Im so curious how things were for them back in the days. Were they dating? I assume they were in love. Does Lyna still mourn his loss? Thanks so much and have a great day, i really love everything you do

hi! lyna is 4 years older than tamlen so for most of her life she was his babysitter and she really resented it, and they didn’t get along too well. when he got older and was able to keep up with her and actually play with her their relationship got better and, after he turned 19, started blooming into an actual romance. the reason they’re not bonded already is because lyna is very slow to trust and love and the fact that she knew him as a bratty boy and wanted them to take their time with this romance (they were... very close to bonding when the mirror thing happened tho) 

lyna could never say no to tamlen when he asked her for something, w/ his sweet smile and dimples, just as he would do anything for her, if it would make her happy. they fought pretty often but it was always petty stuff that was easy to get over w/ a kiss and an apology.

lyna definitely mourns his loss and her entire journey in da:o takes place because she still believes he’s alive and wants to find him and have him go through the joining (even tho she knows that he would just die, probably)--that’s how she justifies all the travelling to herself. after she ends up having to kill him, she then turns her journey into one of vengeance where she wants to kill the archdemon for doing this to him. it takes her a really long time to get over him and be able to deal w/ the fact that, after all the years they’ve had together, he’s gone from her life, especially bc she was there when he was born, and she held him so many times when he was just a baby. 

she never stops loving tamlen--he doesn’t leave her heart, she just makes room for zevran alongside him, and it’s because zevran also mourns rinna that she feels safe in doing so. and she knows tamlen would want her to be happy, and that continual love is why she and zev name their baby after him.
