The Prime of His Youth: Book I: Forging His Own Path: Ch38: Cascade
"And who's going to build this?" Helia asked. "I don't want Cybertronians not descended from Solus Prime to take over here. We came here to get away from them."
"Then that is your right." Jack stated, and she was immediately stunned. "I don't want to change Caminus more than we have to."
"You already want to bring in Humans?" Michaela asked.
"I am aware of what I am asking. And I understand wanting to limit the change as much as possible." Jack replied.
"Who would build it?" Helia asked.
"Who do you want to build it?" Jack asked, and a moment of silence followed. "If your own construction century did it, it would be quicker, and would align perfectly with your own designs. If Humans built it ourself, it would take longer, and there would be less direction for the designs." He then paused as he looked Helia.
"You know what?" Helia asked, "A lot of of the bots would probably want to. It would have to be voluntary."
"Of course?" Jack asked. "A middle ground is just have you build the terraces, and let Humans do the rest."
"I'm starting to like this kid." Helia simply stated. She then looked at Tethys. "That would mean a lot of work for you, too."
"We would love to." Thethys stated, and then turned to Jack, "But we could only do so much so quickly."
"Well, obviously." Jack replied, "My idea is to create a plan. If you build the first terrace, Humans can start to move in. And then slowly expand as we get more room."
"You really thought this through." Whitehead stated.
"I did my best." Jack stated, "It's not like I'm an expert or anything."
"It definitely seems like he understands the magnitude of what he's asking of us." Amalthea stated. "And they are adorable."
"Zebrastripe said they helped her weeding one of the tree beds." Apple Eye.
"And that's suddenly a good enough reason?" Ridgehopper asked.
Apple Eye shrugged, "Sign of character."
"I really don't think I can agree to this right now." Ridgehopper stated, and the Mistress of Flame stepped out.
"He never asked you to." she said, and tapped her staff on the ground for emphasis.
"He said he would be back in year." Amalthea stated, mimicking his word use.
"Then what are we doing right now?" Ridgehopper asked.
The Mistress of Flame stepped forward, "A motion of intent, to allow Human colonization as Jack Darby has described. It will be non-binding."
"Then what's the point of it?" Ridgehopper asked.
"Intent?" Whitehead asked her.
"We can have the proper vote upon his return." the Mistress of Flame stated.
"It changes the conversation," Amalthea interjected, "from if to how."
"I really don't know what I feel about this." Ridgehopper stated.
"Then feel free to vote nay." the Mistress of Flame said to her. "Motion of Intent, should we allow Human colonization as outlined by Jack Darby. Yay?" she asked. Amalthea, Whitehead, and Helia raised their hands. "Nay?" she asked, and Michaela, Molana, and Windblade raised their hands. "Abstained?" ehe asked, and Ridgehopper, Tethys, and Apple Eye raised their hands. She looked over the Centurions. "It seems we have a tie." she said, and turned to Jack with a smile, "Yay." she said.
"Someone's got to be relieved?" Arcee asked, and looked at him, and he still looked agitated.
"Arcelia?" Jack asked.
Arcelia stepped up beside Amalthea, "Yes?" she asked.
"It's going to come out, isn't it?"
"Unfortunately." she replied, and Jack sighed. Sirenia stiffened up. Arcee looked at her, and she seemed genuinely afraid.
"Then they should find out here." Jack stated, "They'll believe you more than they'll believe me."
"Very well." she said, "Mistress, if I could have the floor?"
"Of course." the Mistress of Flame stated. Arcelia walked passed all of the Centurions and turned to the collected. "According to the records, partially from Optimus Prime and partially from his first lieutenant, Ratchet. Optimus Prime used the power of the Matrix of Leadership against Unicron. When he returned, he had lost his memory. He was manipulated by Megatron to think they were still aligned."
"And how did he get it back?" Windblade asked.
"He left the Key to Vector Sigma with an individual." Arcelia stated.
"And for those of us don't know what that means?" Helia asked.
"Vector Sigma is fabled computer that holds the very wisdom of the Primes." the Mistress of Flames stated. "Only Primes have access to it."
"Or those designated." Arcelia stated, and it was as if all the wind was sucked out of the room. After a pregnant pause, Windblade spoke up.
"Are you going to tell us who is was?!" she asked, "Or are you just planning to keep it a secret?!" She turned her head as if she heard something, and then looked completely lost.
"No-no-no-no-no." Molana stated.
"No, what?" Helia asked.
"Why are we here?!" Molana.
"We're here to talk about Humans?" Helia asked.
"Why is it relevent?" Whitehead rhetorically asked.
Helia looked at Jack, and then back at Whitehead, and then Molana. Her face showing a hundred emotions as it dawned on her.
"Just say it." Arcee added.
"The individual was Jack Darby." Arcelia said, and paused, "The Human Prime."
What happened could be described as something out of a horror movie. Dozens of emotions passed through the gallery. Some fled. Some held still, eyes not even responding. Some fell down to their knees.
Windblade stepped out, walked up to his podium, and knelt down. "I'm so sorry for my disrespect."
"What disrespect?" Jack asked, and she stood up.
"I denied you?.." she asked.
"He didn't want you to just agree with him." Arcee stated.
"I don't want to be worshiped." Jack stated, and all eyes were on him. He suddenly became selfconscious and could no longer look her in the eyes.
"Fair enough." Windblade said to him. She then looked at the Mistress of Flame, "And I suppose that is why she called a parliament without giving a reason?"
"We agreed that if it failed, I would have to disclose his secret." the Mistress of Flame stated.
"I should have known you were well ahead of us." Windblade said to the Mistress of Flame.
"So, he what, told you not to tell us?" Ridgehopper asked. She then looked at Jack, "Was this all part of his plan?"
"He's prudent." Arcee stated, "Not scheming. He probably thought he was doing Sirenia a favour by coming here."
"He helped me immeasurably." Sirenia stated.
"Sometimes the simple answer is the obvious one." Arcee said.
"Care to elaborate?" Windblade asked.
"He never asked to be a Prime." Arcee simply stated, "And what Ratchet said is that Jack is a lot like Orion was, before. You know."
"I can confirm that part." Arcelia said.
"What, you read the whole thing?" Molana asked.
"Once I made the discovery, I searched specifically for it." Arcelia replied.
"And it's a good thing Sirenia returned to us." Windblade did, and turned to look at her. Sirenia nervously looked away. Unable to turn because she was holding up Jack.
"No need to pick on her." the Mistress of Flame stated.
"We need someone to gather information about Terra." Windblade stated.
"Wait, what?" Sirenia asked, "No-no-no-no-no. That's way too much pressure."
"Please?" Jack asked Windblade.
"I voluneer." Arcelia stated.
Windblade then turned back to Jack, "Would you be able to provide her with lodgings?"
"What?" Jack asked.
"We have one house." Arcee stated.
"Will there not be enough room?" Windblade asked.
"That, um..." Jack voiced.
"They are sparkmates." June stated.
"Thank you, mom." Jack said with full sincerity. He then turned back to Windblade and then Arcelia, "The only place left to sleep is the workshop, or under the awning."
"And if I do not need to power down?" Arcelia asked, and Jack didn't know what to say.
"If you are going to be on Earth," June stated, "you should at least have hospitality."
"It's not like we need to eat." Arcee said. "Though, the family meals are fun."
"We can provide her with Energon while she is on Terra." Sirenia stated, "And we can connect her to the internet to help her research."
"Well, it's not like she'll fit into a library." June stated. "At the least, Major Fowler will likely be able to find something for you."
"Well, they are so adorable." Arcelia stated, "So it's understandable if their cities are not designed to accomodate us."
"There is at least one lab designed for Cybertronians." Arcee stated, "Whatever Raf's company is called."
"Acorde Principal" Sirenia stated.
"Either way we can't promise much until we get there." Jack stated, "Though, worst case, you could always stay with us."
"Accepted." Arcelia stated.
"Do we have enough Energon to get back?" Arcee asked, "I mean, with another fembot?" Sirenia immediately looked nervous.
"Oh, no, we've got plenty." Jack stated. "I'm not going to let our margins get that low."
"Fembot?" the Mistress of Flame asked.
"Female Autobot." Arcee stated, "The preferred term is apparently femme."
"Then we are femmes?" the Mistress of Flame asked.
"Yeah." Arcee replied.
"Sirenia will tell you when to meet in the spaceport." Jack stated.
