1: The Great Raid. It’s something that haunts her

2: Yumi is actually quite sociable and affectionate, though you can’t tell because of that rough exterior.

3: Her fatal flaw would probably be her recklessness. She is aware of it, she just doesn’t really care anymore, which is… Not good. (Thankfully, later on Reuben and other pals help her start taking better care of herself)

10: I think maybe the Dreamy Gears AU would be interesting! I also kinda like messing around with the gijinka AU for her too

12: Yes, she is very self-destructive. In, like, ALL the ways. But I think the most prominent way is how she literally just… throws herself into death 💀she’s got issues, man

19: Yumi doesn’t often get enraged, but if someone manages to push her that far, then she usually discards her bow entirely (too angy to use it properly) and ends up trying to rip them to shreds with a dagger or literally just an arrow. Or… whatever else she can find and use as a weapon. Point is, she’ll try reeallly hard to commit 2nd degree murder against you (death by circle person 😔)

23: The hardest emotion to process is sadness and rage. She’ll try to avoid her sadness at all costs (this includes engaging in self-destructive behaviors), and she doesn’t really know how to properly calm herself down once pissed off to that degree. The emotion she has the hardest time expressing is happiness. Don’t get me wrong, she’ll try her best to express it, but theres just something that blocks her from fully feeling or showing it…

24: I have a bunch of alternate paths that Yumi could have gone down actually! One of those paths is where she manages to save Oron and they eventually retire together :DD If she were to get to Oron in time in the canon timeline, then i think she’d be a lot happier with her life.

DAWN:

2: Dawn sometimes has a bit of a bratty side. There’s just times where she doesn’t feel like listening to anyone or anything.

3: Her fatal flaw is her anxiety, probably. She’s missed a lot of opportunities because of it :((

10: An AU that would be interesting to explore with Dawn would maybe be a medieval AU! I think it would be cute to write about or doodle :DD

19: When enraged, Dawn will usually use her dark magic to throw stuff around or, well… kill people. It kinda looks something akin to a tantrum, with her throwing things about and screaming her head off and whatnot. She always feels terrible about it afterward…

23: The hardest emotion for her to process is fear. She shuts down completely and just curls into a ball. She doesn’t really have any emotions that she has a hard time expressing, but she often doesn’t express when she’s mad.

REUBEN:

17: The worst thing Reuben had to go through canonically was probably witnessing Yumi’s constant cycle of death and revival. It was brutal,,,,,, poor lil guy :(((

OKAY!!! :DDDD ty for sending me the ask btw!

Gonna kinda be info-dumping general stuff, but if ya wanna know something specific don’t hesitate to ask!!

OK SO:

Reuben is the lovable nurse waddle dee that you’ll see me plaster all over my blog. He loves being friends with people and just kind of wishes that the world would be peaceful for once. He is very optimistic and outgoing and is willing to be friends with everyone (it might take a little longer for him to warm up to you if you’re scary looking though…). Some may have seen this on his art fight entry, but he is the only waddle dee currently inhabiting the planet he lives on (Which is named Siofra!). His greatest wish is to be friends with at least one other member of his own species, since he will then have someone to relate to a little (though having more friends in general is always a treat for him)! He’s willing to help anyone he comes across, but unfortunately this can be to his detriment, as he is quite gullible and prone to being tricked :( even if Yumi tells him not to trust so easily, he always ends up treating everyone like an ally. If you hurt him too much though, he gets a bit avoidant.

Yumi is a warrior who mainly does odd jobs like hunting bounties. Though she may be stand-offish to most, Yumi is a pleasant woman at heart and wants nothing more than for the world to be at peace (a sentiment that she and Reuben share). She is also willing to help others, but usually wants to wash her hands of them once she’s done (she has a bit of a habit of shooing people away…). If you are persistent, however, she will eventually open up and accept your company. Yumi used to be a member of four elite knights that helped lead a large army in a colony consisting mostly of warriors, though her duties were more about serving as one of the personal guards for the empress. However, she retired after the events of a devastating invasion known as The Great Raid. After she retired, she went off alone to go live on planet Siofra, where she met Reuben.

Reuben and Yumi have been friends for quite a long time, and Reuben considers them to be best friends! At first, Yumi was a bit reluctant to interact with him; but his rather cheerful and optimistic side managed to help her open up. Though she may never admit it, Yumi also considers Reuben her best friend, as he is the only one that she is comfortable enough to confide in (when shes not being stubborn). Both Yumi and Reuben also help each other out when they need it; think of it as somewhat of a symbiotic relationship. Yumi has a habit of being reckless (and getting herself hurt), so she needs Reuben to patch her up. On the other hand, Reuben is a bit weak and mostly incapable of defending himself, so he relies on Yumi for protection! This, paired with their similar goals, helped them to bond quite well!

Jamie and Dawn

4. Jamie usually initiates affection! Dawn doesn’t initiate it as she worries that she might annoy her (she never does, though; poor girl is too anxious for her own good)

5. They don’t argue very often, but when they do, its usually over misunderstandings and such.

9. Jamie doesn’t really like how much Dawn deprecates herself, as it hurts her to see her constantly belittle herself. Dawn doesn’t like how aggressive Jamie is to other people sometimes. Jamie can often be quick to anger, which can result in her getting into fights sometimes, which stresses Dawn out.

13. It depends on the situation. If one is just out casually or running errands, they will keep in touch with their communication devices. However, if Jamie is at work or on a mission of sorts, then they usually have to wait it out (unless she’s gone with her. then they use the communication device).

15. A song that reminds me of them is Cariño by The Marias :D

18. Dawn will usually perform healing spells to help Jamie when she’s wounded/sick, and Jamie will get her medicine and make sure she’s well rested and hydrated.

19. Dawn is a bit taller than Jamie, so wearing her clothes isn’t much of an option 😅 Jamie likes to wear Dawn’s shirts or her coats though! They like to share each others jewelry tho!

37. Dawn cries more often than Jamies does. A lot more ;;;

39. Jamie and Dawn admitted they loved each other during a rainy day in the spring. They were camping out and waiting for the rain to end when Jamie turned to Dawn and (quite bluntly) said she had feelings for her. It took her by surprise, but Dawn admitted she felt the same way. (They’re such dorks lmao)

Yumi and Oron*

4. They both initiate affection, though Oron does a little more than Yumi. Yumi might not initiate affection at times due to either being busy or just getting nervous.

5. They wouldn’t argue much except for the occasional couple’s spat.

9. Something Oron dislikes most about Yumi is her moodiness and occasional distancing from him. He doesn’t really understand why she becomes cold sometimes and it upsets him. Something Yumi dislikes about Oron is his tendency to be a bit over-the-top with his chivalry and affection (e.g., giving expensive gifts, constantly kissing her hand, etc.). While she is flattered by all of these gestures, sometimes it gets on her nerves if shes overwhelmed.

15. A song that reminds me of Yumi and Oron is Blue Hair by TV Girl :) (its a rather bittersweet song, though I think that mood fits their dynamic perfectly)

18. Oron would usually make soup for Yumi and make sure she stays and rests in bed whenever shes sick or wounded. Yumi often takes advice from Reuben and tries to help Oron according to what he says.

37. Yumi is more emotional in this relationship. She usually gets more upset when something happens, while Oron is a little more able to keep composure.

39. After the events of The Great Raid, Oron and Yumi take some time off work to recover from their injuries and the trauma of the incident. While resting in Yumi’s house, Oron and yumi discuss the events that had happened prior to the current moment. Yumi admits that she needs to discuss something with him, and asks if he could meet her at the fountain tomorrow evening. Oron agrees and goes to meet her there the next day. After beating around the bush a bit, Yumi eventually manages to confess to him. Oron confessed that he felt the same way, and they’ve been with each other ever since, though they have to be a bit more lowkey due to the pressures of their culture.

Yumi and Reuben*

1. Their first date was somewhat awkward. It consisted of Reuben clumsily trying to pour Yumi drinks or pick her flowers (that would fall apart in his hand due to his shakiness; poor guy was so nervous). Yumi, now used to Reuben’s antics, laughed it off and just helped him through it.

6. After they argue, Reuben usually goes up to Yumi and awkwardly apologizes, with Yumi doing the same. If it’s really bad, they might not say anything at all, only a “hey… did you want to go to [location] with me?” Or something like that LOL. Either way, it evens itself out.

11. Reuben enjoys pet names and thinks they’re fun! Yumi thinks they are embarrassing, but she isn’t opposed to them. Reuben would use names like “honey” or “sweetie”, while Yumi wouldn’t use any (though she may call him “Rubie” to fluster him).

18. Reuben would make use of his nurse skills to help treat Yumi, while Yumi would try her best with home remedies (or bandages and basic first aid if he was injured).

29. Reuben usually takes a bath (with ye olde Mr. Bubbles bubble bath mix) and maybe unwinds with those cute little crossword books, and Yumi would shower and maybe just rest for a bit.

39. It happened accidentally one day when Reuben accidentally let it slip out that he liked her. Yumi thought it was funny and casually admitted he was cute too. After that, it just kind of naturally evolved into a relationship.

48. They don’t often talk about their future. However, it will sometimes pop up briefly in conversation. Seems that they take their relationship one day at a time; whatever happens, happens.

Yumi

She does believe in love at first sight due to experiencing it before :D though she’ll never say it, something that she definitely looks for is gentleness and patience (it takes her a bit to open up ^-^;;).

The bouquet for yumi would consist of amaranths (immortality), purple hyacinths (sorrow/regret), and gladioluses (strength). Yumi doesn’t have a favorite flower, but she would think that the amaranths were nice.

A present that Yumi would be most happy to receive is arrows! She could always use more ammo lmao. As for the gift giving, it depends on how well she knows you. Normally she’ll give things like snacks or supplies.

Advice I would give to her would be to open up a lil more! She’ll be better off with more friends.

I’d say Yumi is good at singing, but she doesn’t like doing it. If she were to sing karaoke, she might go for some kind of rock song!

Yumi’s playlist would be filled with a lot of rock or edgy songs lmao. There isn’t any particular song I associate with her unfortunately!

Unfortunately, Yumi’s biggest fear has already happened: being unable to see Oron ever again :( Though, if she were to have anything irrational, then maybe it could be something like Pistanthrophobia (fear of trusting others)?

Dawn

Dawn’s bouquet would have irises (hope), hydrangeas (grace and beauty), and lily of the valley (purity). Out of these, the hydrangea would be Dawn’s favorite!

A gift that Dawn would love to recieve are flowers or charms for her outfits/hat. Dawn is known to be a bit heavy-handed with gifting; she will usually get people a lot of small items in a lil gift bag :D

Advice I would give to Dawn is to not spend so much time worrying about the past!

Dawn would be good at singing as well, though her singing voice is a little quiet. Her go-to karaoke songs would be some of the more romantic songs like “We Fell in Love in October” by Girl in Red.

Dawn’s playlist is more or less the same as her karaoke songs lol. A song I typically associate with her is “Dreaming of You” by Selena Quintanilla (the slowed instrumental ver.)

Dawn has Cleithrophobia, or the fear of being trapped. When she was still with her coven, she was often trapped in her room and deprived contact from the outside world. Now that she has her freedom, she never wants to go back to those times. Even to this day, she can’t even sleep with her bedroom door closed as it makes her feel trapped.

Dawn’s favorite treat is cotton candy!

Reuben

Reuben’s bouquet would have baby’s breath (innocence), honeysuckle (pure happiness), and daisies (new beginnings). Out of those flowers, Reuben’s favorite would be daisies!

The kinds of gifts that Reuben would like are medical supplies! He is always happy to receive anything, but those are his favorite! Reuben is a nice gift giver. He might not always know what to get someone, but he always makes sure to give something he put his whole heart into!

A piece of advice that I would give Reuben is to have more confidence in himself! He’s more than capable of standing on his own two feet, so he should believe in himself!

Reuben is a pretty ok singer, and he’s always up for karaoke! His go-to song is “Dancing Queen” by ABBA (hehe silly)

Reuben’s playlist would be filled with very upbeat sounding songs or oldies! One song I associate with him is “Angel Baby” by Rosie & The Originals

The irrational fear Reuben has is Autophobia, or the fear of being alone :( poor baby has some separation anxiety issues and can’t really stand even the thought of being alone.

4. When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Yumi: I actually wanted to be a knight. For a while I did achieve and live that dream, but I had to discard that life after a while.

12. How would you describe your style?

Yumi: My style? I dunno... run-of-the-mill, maybe? Nothing too special...

13. What's your favorite song?

Yumi: I don't know if I have a favorite, but I once heard a song titled "Fly to the Angels" and it was pretty good.

15. Who is the most important person in your life? Why?

Yumi: I... Well... It's Oron. He was... Really important to me.

17. Have you ever been in love?

Yumi: I have... once or twice...

18. Have you ever been kissed?

Yumi: Hrm... I Don't think so? I've always wanted to be kissed though... -ah, um...ahem.

Reuben: Oh, I do!! :D I can't remember his name at the moment, but he's a really cool swordsman I keep hearing about!! All the stories I hear about him make him sound really strong and cool! Like once, I heard that he summoned the strongest warrior in the galaxy and actually beat him!! Isn't that incredible!? It kinda makes me wanna be like him, heheh...

15. Who is the most important person in your life? Why?

Reuben: Oh, I don't know if I can pick just one! All of my friends are super important to me! But if I HAD to pick, then maybe it would be Yumi! She's the greatest friend I've ever had! I know she seems kinda mean on the outside, but she really is a nice person! She's helped me through so much!

17. Have you ever been in love?

Reuben: Hmmm... Nope! I don't believe I have! But maybe one day I will be! :D I wonder what it's like...

18. Have you ever been kissed?

Reuben: Erm, like, romantically? N-no, I haven't! Errr, not yet at least! I-I'm sure I'll get my first kiss soon though! hmm!
