What Yoga?(Hatha,Ashtanga,Iyenger or what) Well these are the major ones that I can think of as a teacher but there have been many more which have originated but I feel these happen to be the base for most of them,So in this post let me take up these one by one and then we can further elaborate in future if ever needed. Hatha Yoga Hatha literally means discipline of force in Sanskrit which is one branch of yoga that mindfully combines a combination of postures breathing techniques and relaxation to achieve withdrawal from external sea sea and get within .A couple of schools that teach Hatha Yoga are like Sivananda,Isha Yoga to name a few and all of these schools will be discussed in later for sure. Ashtanga Yoga This is dynamic and athletic in nature made up of six levels or usually known as series and involves a fixed order of postures . It is based in flowing movements with a focus on breath and energy ,though it’s a very physical practice ,it promotes and enhances mental clarity and peace. Iyenger Yoga It is a form of yoga as exercise with a focus on the structural alignment of the body through the practice of asanas. It differs from other styles of yoga in three ways of precision, sequence and use of props. Why should one do YOG or practice flexibility? Yog is a spiritual discipline that works on bringing harmony between mind and body and involves breath control and postures . Flexibility is an essential part of physical fitness and is extremely important so that our body can work in optimum and best possible capacity. Alongside Yog also balances any sort of hormonal imbalances that our body might have further increasing the wellness to another level.
