“We destroyed them!” Holtzmann clapped her hands, joy exuding out of her like atoms fissioning out into heat and light. “We refused to assimilate, we fought them off, and then on the grounds where we destroyed them, we rededicated the temple in the name of self-determination. And our perseverance, our survival, and our ability to beat back fascists from whatever holes they crawled out of - ” She pressed kisses to Abby’s lips, her jaw, and her cheek to emphasize each noun she rattled off. “ - was rewarded with the miracle of the oil.”

In 2022, Abby and Holtzmann recount the story of the Maccabees and remind themselves of the true meaning of Hanukkah at a moment where things feel scary and uncertain for Jewish people in the United States.

Not a fandom oracle reading, but I needed to share this beauty from my new 78 Tarot Astral deck. I'm calling it my "Holtzmann card" due to the goggles, but if you want to be truly accurate, this is Abby and Holtzmann's android love child. (if you look closely, you can see the screws and the seam of the access panel on her cheek.) Obviously this is what they were working on at Higgins and why they didn't find a ghost until Erin came back.

You all are precious beans and I love, love, LOVE that you’re asking me about all the rarepairs in this fandom!

proposes - Neither would propose on their own. They’re so sweet and loving and they have such Big feelings about each other, but they both are so scared of talking about their feelings. They say they’re married and call each other wives SUPER early on, though; Erin and Patty are shocked to learn they actually aren’t. Their relationship is nontraditional and it works for them.

shops for groceries - They definitely do this together. Abby does her best to wrangle some real food for them to eat occasionally and Holtz tags along pretty much solely to assist in snack selection. Shenanigans often ensue.

kills the spiders - Abby. Midwestern spiders are terrifying, source: I’m from there and they’re terrifying. She got bit once by a brown recluse and it was awful; now she doesn’t mess around. Holtzmann, on the other hand, has always been a Bug Kid. She totally picks up spiders with no fear and lets them crawl around on her arm, which unnerves Abby every single time she has to witness it.

comes home drunk at 3am - Holtzmann and she just climbs directly into Abby’s arms / bed when she does. She has different drunk vibes and she generally doesn’t know which one it’s going to be in advance. She might get emotional and cry over the things that are hard to talk about otherwise, in which case, Abby will hold her and rub her back and let her cry. She might come home super giggly and elated about life and have have HAVE to share that with someone, in which case, Abby will crack up at how adorable she is. Or she might just pass the fuck out, but she’ll still make sure she’s Held before she does.

makes breakfast - Abby. Abby and Holtzmann are bonded in a number of ways, not all of which are healthy - they mesh so well and effortlessly in part because they understand each other’s shared unhealthy habits. Both women are inclined to hyper-focus on a task or a project at the expense of taking care of themselves. It’s just Abby and Holtz for a long time, and Abby is protective of Holtzmann, so she takes it upon herself to ensure they both eat real food regularly.

remembers to feed the fish - Holtzmann. Like I said in the other ask, she’s got names and soap opera-level dramatic backstories for every one. She can’t tell them apart, but she insists she totally can.

decorates the apartment - Okay, neither, and here’s why. 😁 These two are absolute whirlwinds of color and chaos; have you seen the lab they share at Higgins? The way they immediately make HQ #1 above Zhu’s look like it belongs to them? Any space these women inhabit and claim is going to become Theirs with a capital T within days. Neither of them will intentionally give a lot of thought in advance to decorating the apartment; their apartment will just *become* decorated as they buzz through it and fling starlight everywhere in their wake. They love their super messy apartment full of memories and somehow they always know exactly where everything is.

initiates duets - Holtzmann. Singing isn’t something Abby does naturally or casually, but she feeds off of Holtz’s energy, too, and always winds up roped into it.

falls asleep first - Abby; Holtz’s energy is boundless. But unless she has a good reason to stay awake and work on something else until she feels more tired, Holtzmann will try to mirror Abby and sleep at the same time as her. She gets cuddles that way and that’s a trade-off she’s willing to make (sometimes 😉).

sends the most selfies - Both, these two are the worst in the best of ways! They feed off of each other’s most chaotic energy, are very silly together, and love pulling a good prank on each other. Holtz sends selfies of her doing / about to do something dangerous (which Abby always encourages) and Abby sends Holtz the most ridiculous pictures of whatever she’s doing (and Holtzmann secretly saves every single one to look at when she’s sad). They’re constantly trying to outdo each other.

makes the first move - Holtzmann. Have you met her?? Abby holds back initially because their relationship blurs so many boundaries it makes her worry about the power dynamics. But their relationship is what it is, and they quickly shift from being primarily coworkers to being primarily friends and girlfriends who also work together. They don’t explicitly confirm they’re dating to each other or anyone else until the moment where Holtz says as much to Dr. Gorin, but they are what they’ve always been and they love each other.

plans spontaneous trips - Both, omg. These two are the definition of spontaneous and they’ve been flying by the seat of their pants together for years. They hear one hint that they might get to see a real ghost and they’re out the door, fuck whatever else they might’ve had going on that day.
