Qishan Wen keeps reminding me of Imperial China's Qin Dynasty.
There is a work of Wuzi "Evaluating the Enemy", where he discusses how to defeat six surrounding hostile powers, based on the terrain, character and government of each region.
Qin's nature is strong. Its terrain is difficult. Its government is severe. Its rewards and punishments are reliable. Its people do not yield; they are all belligerent. Therefore they scatter and fight as individuals. As the way to attack them, one must first entice them with profit and lead them away. Their officers are greedy for gain and will separate from their generals. Take advantage of their separation to attack them when scattered, set traps and seize the key moment, then their generals can be captured.
(Mark Edward Lewis: The Early Chinese Empires)
Doesn't this sound like Qishan Wen?
Accordding to Wuzi here the Qin's unforgiving terrain comes hand in hand with the people's fierce character. And that, in turn, results in the need of an even fiercer government, which acquires loyalty through great rewards and terrible punishments.
There are other works that link a region's geographical features with the characters of their inhabitants, such as the Tribute of Yu or Xunzi's philosophical works.
These texts compare the North with extreme yin (shady, dark and cold), and the South with extreme yang energy (bright, sunny and hot). Though the latter wasn't exactly supposed to mean superiority to the darkness and cold. In fact, a later text describes the South (under the Yangzi, plenty of moisture and heat) as a zone of desease and death full of poisonous plants and a toxic atmosphere. It was also reffered to as the Land of the Sun. Just like Qishan.
Now, I'm aware, Qishan in mdzs-verse is not on the South. Quite the opposite, it's rather on the North-West. Still, take a look at this related, 1st century A.D. text:
The fiery air of the sun regularly produces poison. This air is hot. The people living in the land of the sun are impetuous. The mouths and tongues of these impetuous people became venomous. Thus, the inhabitants of Chu and Yue [middle and lower Yangzi] are impetuous and passionate. When they talk with others, and a drop of their saliva strikes their interlocutors, the arteries of the latter begin to swell and ulcerate. The southern commanderies are a very hot region. When the people there curse a tree, it withers, and when they spit on a bird it drops down dead.
(Mark Edward Lewis: The Early Chinese Empires)
Ooff bit harsh innit. But North or South, no difference, Qishan is supposed to be scattered with volcanoes, which still matches the description of extreme heat, toxic air and harsh environment.
And the same links between geography and character appear a lot in mdzs. Pretty visible from the coldness of Nie Mingjue (see, the northernmost clan), through the easy-going nature of the Jiang and the refined nature of the Lan, to the abundance of the entire Jin clan (on the trade-wise advantageous East).

Certain dramas do very well in summer slot, and certain don't . Is there a theory to it? For instance some modern dramas like Crime Crackdown and You're my Glory did great last year, and this year seems its Costumes. Wish ygy aired as well in this slot
Great question!
Well summer is a time when schools and universities are off, and that period is around end of June/ beginning July to end of August. At this time, costume dramas esp xianxias are very popular (if done well...) coz they are catered towards the younger population (you'll often see older drama viewers being bored with seeing content from this particular genre). Also side by side, any costume dramas such wuxias and historicals are also popular, especially if they feature traffic idols. The three examples are the dramas with a good amount of heat this summer, "Love Like the Galaxy (Zhao Lusi / Wu Lei)" on Tencent, "Immortal Samsara" (YangZi/ChengYi) on Youku and now "Love between Fairy and Devil (Esther Yu/Dylan Wang) on Iqiyi.
Right now in 2022 summer, these three web only dramas have the highest broadcast heat among the three largest web playforms, and rankings sort of jumps between each other.
(Not counting "A Dream if Splendour" as it was pre summer and ended before July)
Romcom with young/traffic idols are also a huge hit in the summer, examples would be like you said "You're my Glory" with Dilireba/YangYang from last year and in 2019 would be "Go Go Squid" with YangZi/LiXian.
Crime Crackdown last year was aired in Dragon TV, BTV, CCTV and Tencent Video. It aired during the month of August last year, and was starred by Sun Honglei who is a very respected veteran in the industry and drama is supported by a strong supporting cast as well as supported by govt agencies. So this drama was quite unique in itself.
I wish Yuguyao aired as well but summer is now over. I'm hoping the drama gets promoted well, whenever it airs.

In Yangzi’s Level 4 Pop’n Sweet Cafe story, he brings MC to a fancy Asian restaurant where they still serve Fancy Soup made with shark fin, and Yangzi remembers how he’s heard that the collagen in the soup is good for the skin, supporting how his grandmother would say that shark fin is good for the body.
Obviously an important ingredient in this dish is shark fin.  However, the shark fin trade and commerce is both controversial and, in many places, illegal.  This article by the Guardian gives a nice overview of the situation, which incorporates history and photographs.
The most accepted imitation for shark fin is Korean glass noodles!
Keeping the flavor of the original shark fin soup seemed to be the most important quality of the recipe that I found, which requires then a few more additional ingredients than usual to recreate the same consistency.
Note, however, that this recipe is not vegan-friendly!  It is, though, much friendlier to the sharks.  In place of the health benefits of shark fin soup provides, one could...get more, restful sleep?  That would certainly help your skin and bodily recovery, and it’ll be easier to rest knowing that you didn’t take part in the torture of sharks!

Last Yangzi CG so now I can (hopefully) catch up and post the first ones of Ike and Moses. Yangzi was a classic tsundere type and I appreciated him.
