Lover- Kitali is very much a physical touch/acts of service person. Her greatest sign of affection is curling up against someone/letting them curl up against her. But doing little things to try and make their day less stressful or trying to make a task easier on them is the first thing she'll do.

I don't know if Kitali loves herself. I don't think self love was something she considered for most of her life. She knows she's loved by other people (Aymeric never lets her forget) but if someone were to ask her "do you love yourself as you are?" I don't think she'd be able to answer.

If you told her "love is all you need" she'd scoff and dismiss you out of hand. Love is never the only thing you need. Love is never the only thing worth sticking around for. Love is nice, sure, but some things are more important.

Seeker- books! Books are her first go to for finding information, and if she can't find a book to read then passive observation is her next step. Kitali really enjoys reading since she never had a formal education, so the only way she could learn about things was in whatever books her parents could afford for her, or things she could pick up for herself.

Kitali doesn't do blind faith. She will trust in the ideas and words of those who've earned her trust, because she believes in them, not what they're espousing. Very much a "I believe that you believe that." She didn't spend months apprenticing under Severian to not believe in the scientific method.

Xceptional- if there had to be Only One, it would be Estinien. He's been an exception to the rule long before she even met him. She does not love Aymeric less but Estinien certainly has a lot more Stuff going on with him. And he's the one who's allowed past most, if not all, of her barriers. She still doesn't consider him a Scion, even if he did formally join and then "leave" the Scions, so when she gets in her cups with her "me vs them" mentality she doesn't think to exclude him.

At this point in her life I think the idea of retirement sounds nicer and nicer each week. She just wants to go back to being an adventurer, she's always had itchy feet and she likes exploring. Being as supercharged as she is now I think plain old dungeon delving would be a breeze for her.

Task Tuesday: Headcanon A to Z

V - Visionary

Esme's plans change from year to year with the ever changing landscape of the city. There are some ultimate plans where she'd like to grow the pack further and maybe overtake Lycaon pack. At the moment it's not got her full focus, instead dealing with short term goals like building a community that just belongs to the pack within Chissob Hills, including housing and stores.

X - Xceptional

She would say all of her children are exceptional in some way. Admittedly it is Leela that she favours above all else, knowing her daughter will lead once Esme is ready to step down.

R - Rebel

It is not in her nature to be obedient. Esme spent much of the early years of her life being so and now she won't return to that kind of meek behaviour. Outwardly, she will betray the good citizen but there are things she's willing to break rules for and she isn't against talking to demon's to get what she needs.

She does find some rebelliousness in her lovers attractive. She got the brat tamer for a reason...

L - Lover 

Esme shows love in the way she cares for someone. She will feed and dote on people she loves, both romantically and familial. She will do this by cooking meals, running hot baths, putting blankets on them, bringing coffee over, things like that is how she can show she cares.

It's harder for Esme to know if she loves herself. She would like to think she does because she has loved herself enough to keep surviving. She doesn't hate what she sees in the mirror but sometimes her heart aches from the mistakes she has made.

Love is wonderful but it is hard and sometimes you can't be loved because you need to heal and learn to love yourself, in those times you don't have love but it's not all you need to survive.

Who is the most exceptional person in their life?

While the most obvious answer for this one would be her partner, I'm going to use this question to showcase a character who hasn't much in the way of obvious mention on this blog because the OC belongs to someone who hasn't had much availability for RP in quite some time: Toshinori Crane, who generally introduces himself as "Pennyworth." (Yes this is an old joke based on Ferthur masquerading as nobility, and Crane playing the part of her 'butler' while watching over her.)

Toshinori Crane was a loyal and lifetime friend of Ferthur's mother, as well as a fellow shinobi. When her mother had to send her away under the guise of Lady Omori Kaya in order to free her from the control of Fane lux Verinus (NPC), but her mother couldn't get herself free without making it obvious what she'd done and leaving a trail to follow, Crane took it upon himself to act as Ferthur's guardian. The xaela played the part of the estate's caretaker, taking care of everything from household chores and baking… to casually apprehending a pair of spies that attempted to insinuate themselves into her household and dropping them off a cliff. Since the death of her mother, Crane is now the closest thing she has to family, and the only one who's been there her entire life.

In Doma, he's known for answering the door in frilly pink maid attire for both his own amusement and to keep visitors off balance with the unexpected. Of course, this only adds to the rumors that Lady Omori Kaya herself is probably completely insane.

Are there any rules that they have notable exceptions to?

Ferthur? My chaos demon? …. Rules? She makes herself the exception to most of them, honestly.

Okay, but seriously, she actually does have several strict rules that her mother instilled in her. While her mother had their survival in mind when she stressed their importance to her daughter, and obviously meant well, they have also done significant harm. Surviving is not the same as living, after all. But, I digress...

One of these rules is to avoid committing murder whenever possible. When you leave a trail of bodies, you're also leaving behind several other things: evidence, a reason to come after you, and the grief of those who cared for the recently deceased. All of those things make disappearing like smoke in the breeze more difficult, and increase the likelihood that someone is going to decide you're their nemesis and make it their life's mission to track you down for vengeance.

That being said, she has killed people. But the thing with that is, if you need to kill someone, you have to kill everyone. It's not a crime if there's no one left to press charges, right? When Fane lux Verinus found her again, not because he was looking for her, but in a cruel twist of fate because he was actually looking for the real Omori Kaya, and everything went to shit, well… she didn't just kill him, she also killed the dozen or so traitorous shinobi working for him. Not all at once, mind you. She meticulously isolated and hunted them down one by one over the course of a month.

She also killed an uncounted number of very-far-gone tempered Garleans as she made her way through the country trying to get her mother back, but, well, that was different.

What gets them excited in life?

Well, she's a bit of an adrenaline junky, so there's that. Have a list!

Speed: The obvious one. This is why she loves her Fenrir and why she's trying to get her hands on a Gabriel. VROOM.

Dancing: She will go toward music like a moth to a flame and lose herself in it until she falls over from exhaustion.

Physical Touch: yeaaaah, I don't think I need to explain this one.

Challenge: Tell her she can't do something? Damn right she's gonna do that shit. She doesn't steal things to survive, she does it for fun, and to see if she can pull it off. This one escalates entirely out of control between Ferthur and Eligos since neither of them will back down from a challenge, so when they challenge each other, well… there will absolutely be a significant amount of collateral damage.

X - Xceptional - Who is the most exceptional person in their life? Are there any rules that they have notable exceptions to? What gets them excited in life? • Maha!

The person Maha finds most exceptional is probably Lithen. She's impressed with her skill with the blade, and defers to her on matters of combat and adventure. But more than that, Lithen is a safe, stable presence in Maha's life, one she's never had before. She likes the way she feels when she's with her, and doesn't want to lose that. That alone is exceptional in her eyes.

As for the rules thing, I'm not really sure. Maha doesn't have a lot of set rules in her life, save for the one where she refuses to bend to the will of another ever again. Ever since fleeing the Coeurlclaws, though, this hasn't been much of a problem. Her alchemy mentor wasn't strict when it came to her free time, only during his lessons did he command her attention. Thankfully she found the subject matter interesting enough to not be bothered by this.

Lastly, Maha can be easily satisfied by the potential of something new. Her hobbies vary from time to time, and if a hobby doesn't entertain her, it's quickly traded for another. She's excited by her own freedom and ability to dabble in whatever it is she wants to at the time. And, of late, she's excited to share these fleeting fancies with her partner, which is good, because she often needs Lithen to pull her out of the trouble she tends to get into.

this was such a hard one to answer for Q'ihnn I had to think about it for several hours but honestly the answer to each of these questions is just,,, his family.

there's no one exceptional person in his life because they're all exceptional to him, they're all amazing and brilliant, each and every one of them - even lil baby Alia.

and the way he considers his family is also a bit of an exception to the rule - he's never known his tribe, not really. he knows which tribe they are but he's never met another member, never spent any time with them. im slowly working out his mess of an adoptive family tree, but what he considers his family really is an exception to what people would consider it "should" be

they're also all what gets him excited about life. at his lowest point he really was just kinda alone, even Ophianne was off exploring some unknown corner of the world at the time and he was just... there. he gets up everyday and finds joy because of his family - his siblings, his kids, his dads - they're just what gets him through it all <3

Who doesn't Sage think is exceptional? From Carly supporting her through work and life to Vince being a person she can always count on for guidance and support, to Ayanna helping her sort through feelings -- Sage thinks most everyone in their life is exceptional. In nearly every person they meet, they can find some good -- that's how they were taught to see the world. However, they're very, very smitten with Owen and in awe of him. He's pretty spectacular in their book and they could ramble on and on about him, his compassion, his brain, his sweetness... you get the idea. So, if you asked them, they'd currently answer Owen without missing a beat and with a wide grin on their face.

Witness - What do they consider the best thing they have ever seen? What would they most like to see in their life?

♦ The best thing Rae has ever seen was arriving in time to witness a rare Death Valley super bloom (something even rarer in an apocalyptic wasteland!)  Sunrise over the lush blanket of yellow, orange and purple flowers was a view they’ll never forget. They would like to travel the world and see all sorts of rare, hard to reach events.

Xceptional - Who is the most exceptional person in their life? Are there any rules that they have notable exceptions to? What gets them excited in life? ♦ Rae would pick their father as their exceptional person. His adventures highly influenced how Rae wanted to live their life! He indulged her curiosity, fueled her craving for knowledge and gently pushed the "be kind, but take no bullshit" philosophy Rae still tries to live up to today. Rules that Rae will make exceptions to... They have a tendency to be willing to work with unsavory individuals if they feel they can leash the bad so it doesn't outweigh possible good results. Rae gets excited by new books, wind in her hair as she drives really fast. Small things. :)

Yes! - Do they believe in luck? What makes them feel lucky/grateful? ♦ Surprisingly no, Rae does not believe in luck. (Which is extremely funny because they take risks based on mathematical odds all the time!!) They believe in skill and stubbornness to succeed, which Rae has both in abundance. Rae is grateful that she's had the freedom to explore and help people wherever she goes.

Zoo - What’s the favourite animal? Do they ever behave animalistically? If they were an animal, what animal would they be? Why? ♦ Both the favorite and "would pick to be" animal is the lobster. Rae saw a nature documentary holo-film about as a child and has been obsessed ever since. Lobsters grow bigger as they age, theoretically able to live an incredibly long time in a good location, are very pretty, virile and smart. All things Rae appreciates. No, Rae takes great care to keep controlled, even during the thrill of adrenaline rushes.

Ok long story short we had a hole in our roof soffit after a storm that went unnoticed until one day I heard baby birds tweeting in the walls of my master bathroom. Went outside and looked up around where I heard the noise coming from and sure enough I see a hole and a mama bird with a worm in her mouth fly right into the hole. We call a handy man and tell him we need him to relocate a birds next and patch up a hole. The most red neck, inbred, coked out, missing teeth, hillbilly FAMILY comes to fix it ( pop pop, uncle, and someone’s like 5 year old) Anyways while showing the guy the hole , the mother bird comes flying out of the hole screaming and pecking at something and that’s when I see a BIG ASS SNAKE slither over the hole! Bird mama is bravely diving and pecking at him trying to protect her babies but then he lunges at her and she kinda backs off but is still tweeting frantically. Sadly the snake ate her babies and disappeared further into the hole in my house in between my walls!!! So the guy says “I’m not touching the snake and the birds are gone so I’ll just patch up the hole for $200. So holes patched but this snake is still living rent free in my walls . Called Xceptional wildlife removal , the guy came , shined a flashlight in my attic and said there’s nothing he can do. Called multiple other removal services only to be told the don’t remove snakes or are don’t have any availability or the just transfer me to someone else…

So anyways we named him Adam and I heard him slithering above my kitchen this morning 😭🐍🤢
