So apparently NXT drew 900k to AEW's 600k on tv (no mention of Fite or BR streams) meaning that they 'win'. Which is a shame because it would've been super funny if they lost.

And it'll matter a whole amount of 0

But I'm sure WWE tribalist stans will celebrate their 11 in 63-11 win over AEW on their regular day after throwing top starts like Cena and exhuming the Undertaker at their so-called 'Developmental', I still preferred Dynamite.

My two cents on WWE: Evil

Mannnnnn😩 If you would have told me ~10 years ago that I would fall out of my WWE phase, I would have cried. If you would have told me 5 years ago that I would somehow start a spiral into the lore of WWE junior year of college, I would have laughed. BUT LOOK WHERE WE ARE NOW!!

I got Peacock not to long ago so I could watch Bel Air, but that had took a backseat when I fell upon this docu-series. 8 episodes almost an hour long each and focuses on a specific villain throughout the years. Some of these episode do relate to each other and some of the creation of certain villains are a result of another villain. Honestly, after this I could probably watch hours and hours of the lore and storyline that goes on. I’m not going to go into too much detail, yet I will say I was not expecting how deep some of these stories got. Did shed a tear or two sometimes.

Hopefully, there would be a season two just on the basis that I know that there are more villains that has a good story to be told. Out of the first season my favorite (probably the only ones i would rewatch) episodes are the stories of “Hollywood” Hulk Hogan(nWo), Sasha Banks, and Roman Reigns. I wish I could but the Undertaker/Kane episode up here, but I was involuntary getting shivers every time I heard his gong😬

Out of 5 starts, I give it 4⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! I hope everyone has a good Wednesday, if you have already taken or doing finals good luck <3

A Slept-On Review: WWE Smackdown 9/16/22

Logan Paul and The Bloodline Promo / Ricochet vs Sami Zayn

We are starting off POORLY! The short and only important information from the first few minutes of Logan talking: He wants to fight Roman and actually had a good rebuttal to the what chant. He's not the worst at this, but I hate it. I know too much and I hate him. I cannot like subjectively anything that he does or anything that he is involved with.

Praise the sun! Paul is back! He’s here to save this segment because he truly is the only one who could. If Paul Heyman wasn't here I probably would have walked away at this point. He tries to convince Logan to walk away from the situation, but he won’t. Ricochet comes out to help even the odds. This poor man has been forced to team up with Logan Paul. I am in physical pain.

We return from commercial and Richochet is up against Sami Zayn. I don't know why we are here. I don't want to be here. The in-ring wrestling itself it's not bad. I almost feel like I'm watching a game of 2K right now: simple, average, nothing out of the ordinary happens. Paul knocked over a soda and then proceeded to pour the rest of it all over the commentary table which was very funny.

Maximum Male Models Segment

It's MMM time! They reveal their “back to school” collection, and are adorable.

The Braun’s music hits.

The absolute piss your pants fear on these men’s faces when said music hit made the whole thing absolutely perfect. Braun stampeded in and knocks them around for a few minutes. We probably would have been a wonderful, funny, and straightforward segment, but for reasons I do not understand, Alpha Academy interjects. They are putting too many people into what should just be Braun showing up, smashing, and leaving.

Bayley vs Raquel Rodriquez

Jojo Siwa is here and she is the CUTEST. I love her. I hope she had a good time.

Enter Damage Ctrl. They are proud of themselves and they should be. I love them they're so evil.

I still can't decide if the spinning slam itself was better than the noise Bailey made while in it. We get an incredible flying elbow, but I'm 99% sure that should have constituted a DQ, which makes this whole match really freaky when you consider the amount of out-of-ring action there has been that has previously been. It makes the strategic nature of distracting the referee feel…pointless and less impressive.

Shotzi also gets a run-in post-match, adding to the lots of last-minute additions tonight and I don't like it

Ronda Rousey and Liv Morgan Interview

Liv stands up for herself in the hardest way I've ever seen her do so. She’s all grown up, she’s strong, and she has the numbers against Ronda. This makes me love her even more. Now, during this segment, it’s established we're getting Extreme Rules match against Rhonda. Now that I've said that, I'm really worried that Ronda is going to win, since she can hit very hard even with rules keeping it in place, and if that happens I will be very sad.

After this match, Drew McIntyre straight up just climbs on top of the announce table to challenge Karrion Kross. He’s angry and sweaty and I’m exhilarated.

Solo Sikoa vs Madcap Moss

It’s a little weird that we're challenging for an NXT Championship right now two people in this make me feel like it's fine. I want to see this match it even if it doesn't make sense. Unfortunately, it quickly falls into its death spot, because I know so little about Solo. I don't know much go to NXT either, so quickly I had very little reason to care outside of the fact that he is a member of the bloodline and I like madcap. Which isn't to say that the wrestling was particularly bad, I was just uninterested and I found it hard to focus on

Sammy is an absolute bro, the whole time and deserves a shoutout for that though.

Brawling Brutes vs New Day vs Imperium vs Hit Row

Yeah, there's officially too much going on in this episode. I was dealing with food poisoning while watching, which may not be helping the situation. That being said, I cannot follow anything that is happening at this point when there are this many people all doing things in the same ring at the same time repeatedly over the course of this episode.

In some ways, I'm glad that some of these people that we're going to put on the back burner for so long are finally getting screen time, but there is such thing as too much and I think that this week cross that borders at least a little bit.

Good news: everyone in this match is just nuts and it was very entertaining. Top Dolla being able to carry all those people genuinely scares me/ I do not trust when multiple people get lifted up anymore. Thank you, Wrestlemania and Rick Boogs for that one.

Rich Holland doubled down on that and lifts Top Dolla.

The ending couple of minutes were especially wild, with high spot after high spot until Brawling Brutes are able to snag the win, which I did appreciate.

You smile directly at the camera to start your introduction, "I'm joined by NXT champion Dominik Mysterio, who got a front row seat to his opponents match for tonight, that his father set up. How are you feeling going in?", you turn to ask him and immediately you are struck. Dominik looks bent out of shape all of the sudden, his jaw is tight as if it was wired shut and his fist is clenched to his side. He shakes his head and coughs trying to play it off, "Well, my back hurts from carrying this company on my back for past almost two years now. I already beat Dragon Lee twice with my dad in his corner". Dominik speaks to the camera but its clear to you that his mind is elsewhere, his hand is twitching at its side now...towards you.

You smile at his cocky response moving on to one more question with your own twist, "Standing here with Mr. 'Dirty' Dominik Mysterio has been a great pleasure, we have one more question for you.".

Dominik swallows and you noticed he has started to sweat, pulling at his shirt to get some air. "Yea".

Your directors nodded at you, they knew of this news, but Dominik is just now finding out on live television. "What is your advice for a new wrestler such as myself?", the roars of the crowd were booming loud enough for the cameras to pick up on. Dominik's eyes went comedically wide and he nearly dropped his belt right off his shoulder. He breathes shallowly, he gathers his bearing just enough to say, "You don't need any advice". This means Dominik had complete confidence in your abilities. You turn your attention back to the camera and you smile. The crew instantly packed up their things and rushed out of the room in a matter of 30 seconds, on their way to other segments.

The door clicks shut and you hear Dominik's belt smack on the ground. He unbuckles his belt, ripping it off of his body and he rushes towards you. His large hands grasp and squeeze your waist, his nose nustling into your neck, and then you hear a loud muffled moan. His mouth is open sucking on your neck while he takes deep breaths, inhaling the natural smell the perfume brought out. Your fingers run through his hair, and you giggle at his reaction, "You okay baby?".

Dominik thrusts your body against him, with no space left for yourself. "You smell good", he says in an uncharacteristic deep voice, your eyes light up. You kiss his cheek, "Don't I always?".

The Love That Whirls, An Introduction

One of my biggest loves is women's pro wrestling. Ever since the early 2000s when I started watching wrestling, I was amazed by the women who found their way to the top. I loved Lita and Trish Stratus and was floored by how incredible the Gail Kim and Awesome Kong feud was. However, with the lack of exploratory knowledge of the Internet and lack of critical research I missed out on the best of the best from that time that had happened outside of major promotions and what little from Japan I knew about. I ended up falling away from really diving deep into it. I had seen the rise of 4 horsewomen of NXT and learned more and more about STARDOM as it grew in popularity. Social media helped give me glimpses of Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling (TJPW) and other smaller joshi promotions. AEW also helped with giving me exposure to the international scene, as well as the ill-fated NXT UK. Though, I never REALLY stayed focused on women's wrestling.

In 2023 however, I started watching TJPW more seriously. I wanted to really dive deeper after being inspired watching old joshi matches and video essays about the modern scene. I was also seeing American independent wrestlers I was familiar with participating in TJPW shows. So, I borrowed my friend's Wrestle Universe account and watched TJPW Grand Princess '23. I was amazed by how much fun I had watching, and wanted more. Not just more of TJPW, but I wanted to pay more attention to STARDOM, Marvelous, Sendai Girls, Pure-J, anything women's wrestling I could find. I initially included that with paying attention to more wrestling overall, and was rating matches across the board I enjoyed. Then it dawned on me that while I know that men's wrestling could be great, I was just losing immense amounts of interest. Especially in American wrestling and New Japan. Meanwhile, I was drawn back again and again to the women.

I started with deep diving into TJPW, STARDOM and as much of the American scene that was available to me (AEW, WWE, ROH, Impact and various others). I've put money into WRESTLE UNIVERSE, Marvelous and PURE-J. I got into Actwres Girl'Z, OZ Academy, WAVE and Sendai Girls. I know far more about the current picture than I did in March when I started. This has led me to wanting to not just rate matches or throw a few quick opinions out on Elon's hellhole or anywhere else. I decided that I should really consider covering the women's wrestling scene.

That's where this blog comes in.

While I am not ready to get started yet, I am looking to get fully invested in taking in as much women's wrestling as I can next year. I want a fresh start in January, and cover everything. These women bust their butts, and I want to just appreciate it and tell everyone all about it. From Tokyo Dome week to WrestleMania weekend, from the theaters and clubhouses in America to Arena Mexico. Wherever there is women's wrestling, I want to see it and tell you about it. On top of that, I want to deliver my thoughts on classics from time to time.

The Love That Whirls will be a new venture for me, but I want to try and bring the Internet the best writing I can produce about what I am passionate about. I can't just scream from the rooftops or post loudly from social media to watch things. I have to get as much of what I watch out there for the world to see, and learn about scenes I am less familiar with new and old. The importance of women's wrestling can only be shown if given the love and attention it deserves, and that's what I promise to deliver.

See y'all soon. I might post a classic review or two before the year gets started and offer a look back at 2023 if time allows.

One of the wonderful/sad things about listening to the back catalogue of a podcast about wrestling, even when it's a review podcast of a show from many years prior, is that there are these moments that really hit different in hindsight. such as this quote from the NXT Wrestling Fan about the episode where Sami tags with the Usos, spoken in mid-2021:
