Really thought it was a sick joke… I’m so sorry for Craig’s family & friends. He seemed like a genuinely nice guy & was such a joy to watch drive.
Motorsports has come on leaps & bounds in the past few decades in regards to health & safety. But this is just a startling reminder like anything in life there will never be zero risk. My heart goes out to Craig’s family & friends. I’ve only had the pleasure of watching his skills on screen this year but he will be missed. Still hadn’t really hit that he won’t be in Croatia. That he won't be racing again or laughing with his family & friends again. Life really can be taken in a matter of minutes.
Rest in peace Craig Breen ❤️

Today starts with the Rally of Finland in the 2023 WRC season, the land of not only rallying, but also the land of Moomins.
I've finished working on a drawing featuring the Peugeot 206 WRC driven by Marcus Grönholm, with Moomintroll and Moominpappa spectating at the rally.

Take a sec away from being pissed and go and watch this, honestly he sums everything up a lot better than I could. Ultimately there are bigger issues than the latest drama that will blow over in a week anyway.

Honestly I shouldn’t still be crying over a person I’ve never met. But Craig seemed like such a lovely bloke. And all I see in my mind is his smile, sarcastic comebacks and little waves after a not so perfect stage run. Or his laugh, little waves at events, suggestive jokes, his skilled driving. And then I remember his instagram bio “Living my childhood dream and loving every second of it!” and I start to cry all over again. Sometimes it doesn’t sink in just how much these Drivers are putting their lives on the line all in the name of passion and living their dreams. Then I remember I never met him, so I don’t have the right to feel so upset when somewhere in the world tonight his parents are grieving. They’re going to try and sleep tonight knowing their son isn’t here anymore. Or his family and friends will go on to have moments they want to share with him but he’s not here. Those thoughts alone breaks me.
It still hadn’t sunk in. All I can hope is that he wasn’t in pain and didn’t suffer. He didn’t deserve that. Your life is a severe price to pay for living your dream.
Rest in peace Craig ❤️

I hope I'm not too late for the Rally of Chile in the 2023 WRC season, since I finally finished drawing the Seat Cordoba WRC rallying through the rally stage in the country.
I had to blame my school for wasting my time after finishing it.
