Pameran World Press Photo 2021 di Jakarta

JAKARTA – Pameran World Press Photo 2021 menampikan karya visual jurnalisme terbaik yang diselenggarakan di Pusat Kebudayaan Belanda, Erasmus Huis Jakarta pada Jumat, 19 November 2021 hingga Sabtu, 11 Desember 2021.

Yogyakarta tepatnya di Pendhapa Art Space merupakan tempat selanjutnya pameran ini digelar mulai 19 Desember 2021 hingga 9 Januari 2022. Pameran ini mempersembahkan kontes World Press Photo 2021. Foto-foto pemenang tersebut dibawa ke Indonesia dan Pusat Kebudayaan Bendanda, Erasmus Huis.

Foto Mads Nissen dengan judul “The First Embrace” atau pelukan pertama sebagai World Press Photo of the Year. Dalam foto pemenang terdapat Rosa Luzia Lunardi (85) dipeluk oleh perawat Adriana Silva da Costa Souza, di panti jompo Viva Bem, São Paulo, Brasil, pada 5 Agustus 2020.

World Press Photo merupakan salah satu pameran foto jurnalistik dan fotografi dokumenter paling terkenal di dunia. Foto-foto tersebut menunjukkan apa yang sedang terjadi dan mengingatkan kita akan tanggung jawab kita.

World Press Photo 2021 menampilkan gambar-gambar paling mencolok dan kisah-kisah menarik dari tahun 2020, seperti pandemi COVID-19 dan protes keadilan sosial di seluruh dunia. Foto ini diambil oleh 45 fotografer dari 28 negara, salah satunya Indonesia.

“2020 adalah tahun yang sulit, pendongeng visual yang mempertarungkam nyawa mereka untuk menyajikan kepada kami kisah-kisah penting tentang dunia kita,” kata Joumana El Zein Khoury, direktur eksekutif dari World Press Photo Foundation yang dikutip dari situs resmi worldpressphoto.org.(AN)
