Why is the Qatar World Cup 2022 a Disgrace
Back in 2010 the position to host the 2022 World cup was awarded to Qatar, a middle eastern country which back then lacked infrastructure and many more things which were odd for the event. Since then Qatar has been in a rapid contructing phase and gained many investors attention. Quickly many questions were pointed out by the critics against the nation and its poor laour rights . Soon after netizens started calling the 2022 world cup a DISGRACE. Here are the reasons to justify the statement.
Labour Rights
We discussed earlier that the nation lacked more infrastructure and it couldnt accomodate the wide fans of the game. To resolve that Qatar started working on it vigorously. In this process the main issue arose, The Labour Rights Violation. 95% of the labour force in Qatar are foreign workers mostly from South Asia. The workers were added to the force by their sponsors who tell the people out there seeking jobs that they will be provided with good wages , decent working conditions , ticket back to home after 2 years of tenure and good accomodation. Once the workers land in Qatar they find that all these were nothing but lies.
According to journals the meeting to join the company would be the next day after landing. The workers see the light of truth and try to return home, but that isnt the case here. The Qatari Government treat the workers with Kafala system.  Their passports and other documents will be ceased by the sponsors.
The accomodation is very poor. The rooms smelled like urea all around. The workers had to work day and night in the soaring temperatures. According to reports over 6,500 workers have died mostly due to the temperature. But the nation denies the numbers.
LGBTQ law
This is a growing issue as fans from LGBTQ  community fear that they would be supressed in the tournament and would be punished since the islamic nation follows strict rules against homosexuality. The nation has announced that it would allow homosexual fans still some speculate that the nation would go into the law once the tournament is over.

NME
By Damian Jones, 21st November 2022
Figures from the music world have been sharing their reaction after England won their opening World Cup qualifier against Iran 6-2 in Qatar.
Goals from Jude Bellingham, Bukayo Saka, Raheem Sterling, Marcus Rashford and Jack Grealish ensured Gareth Southgate’s side got off to a winning start at the Khalifa International Stadium.
Ahead of the game England, Wales and five other nations announced they will no longer wear ‘OneLove’ armbands at the tournament.
The armband was set to be worn by the captains of a number of countries at the tournament in support of LGBT+ rights. Homosexuality is illegal in Qatar, which hosts the tournament that began yesterday (November 20) and runs until December 18. But governing body FIFA revealed that it would consider sporting sanctions – including yellow cards – against any captain who wears the ‘OneLove’ armband, which has been deemed to be against the rules.
Despite that, the players did take the knee in a gesture against racism and inequality just before kick off.
Following England’s victory, Louis Tomlinson was one of the first to congratulate Gareth Southgate’s side.
“Unbelievable performance from England!! Loved that,” he wrote before adding: “Number 1 album and massive England win in the same week! Happy days!”

To enjoy and celebrate the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, around 1.5 million international tourists came, representing about half of the country’s residents, compared to an estimated 2.9 million in 2021. Among the tourists who came to the Arab countries were fans of the 32 teams that qualified for the track, as well as nationals of countries that did not participate in the World Cup but wanted to…

Not only Magda is critical in public against Qatar. Nattis, Stina and Julia Z don't want to watch the world cup

The women's national team's criticism of the WC: "Not optimal"
Several Swedish women's national team players are critical of the men's WC host nation.
They are not even going to follow the championship.
- It feels a little odd to look at something and support something when there is so much terrible that has happened and is happening in Qatar, says Nathalie Björn.
November 20 starts the men's World Cup in football.
Qatar is the host nation and has been heavily criticized for violating human rights.
That is one reason why several of the Swedish women's national team players do not even intend to turn on the championship on television.
- First of all, it is in Qatar. We have all read or seen how the championship has been built up there. Then Sweden is not included. I don't really need to check that. There is enough football in everyday life anyway, says Nathalie Björn , 25.
Stina Blackstenius, 26, who did not think that it is soon time for the WC to start and is hesitant to watch, is on the same track.
- It is quite clear that there has been a lot of uproar around this WC and it is completely understandable given that human rights are an important issue for us in the Swedish national team.
Nor has Julia Zigiotti Olme, 24, planned to sit down in front of the television to follow the championship.
- It does not feel good. Many things need to change for there to be a WC in Qatar, she says.
Other if Sweden was involved?
But had Nathalie Björn checked if Sweden qualified?
- Honestly, I don't know. Of course you want to support your national team, but at the same time it is under such incredible conditions that this World Cup was built on. It feels a little odd to look at something and support something when there is so much terrible that has happened and is happening in Qatar, she says.
How do you see Qatar being awarded the World Cup?
- It is as it is. Now it's there, Björn replies with a sigh and continues:
- There are many things that make it would have been better if the championship had been somewhere else. At the same time, it might raise problems that are there and people get to take part in things that wouldn't have been raised otherwise. But I don't think it's optimal.
The Swedish women's national team will meet Australia in a practice match at the opponents' home ground on Saturday.
