4. with dialogue i'm proud of
i am never not banging pots and pans about steadfast & dependable, and this little bit (where they're really saying what the other should say, and simultaneously saying nothing of consequence at all) is one of my favorite things i think i've ever written
Elizabeth set a hand on [James'] chest, felt the beat of his heart and quickness of his breath, and said, “You could have broken the engagement.” He frowned up at her. “And leave you destitute? No, I could not," he said, like it should be obvious. "You could have left at any time.” “No. I couldn't. It would have been a disgrace to us both, and my father as well.” She paused. Then, thoughtfully: “You could divorce me, then.” “No,” James said once more, “I cannot,” more softly.
8. that hurt my own feelings to write
god. so much. a swerve from potc into my weird assassin's creed death loop + greek mythology longfic, from the penultimate chapter, which completes a 30-chapter-long running thing where persephone asks "when will i see you again?" and ezio answers with some flirtatious invocation of another god:
Lightly, she asks, “When will I see you again, shadow?” When, indeed. Ezio sets his shoulders back. He watches the petals fall from the laurel tree above them, swaying in the gentle current that flows against logic here in the Underworld. He draws in that clean, cool air, lets it warm in his chest, and releases it. “When I sever the threads that have woven my lives,” he answers slowly, “and Hermes carries me home on the swiftest of Aeolus’ winds, my queen.” “May it be many, many years from now, shadow.” “Have I finally overstayed my welcome?” Ezio asks, a laugh curling his words. Persephone does not smile at him, but tilts her head, considering the man who sits before her. “No,” she answers, her voice serious but light. “No, I will have your eternity, someday. Until then, I will not deny the world above the pleasure of loving you. Live well, Ezio. Live long.”
16. from a recent piece i want to brag about
from any means:
Desperate for something, anything to do with his hands, Norrington removes his hat, sets it on the desk. He lights an oil lamp and hangs it on the wall. He draws a bracing breath and turns to face Elizabeth, in private at last, and— Elizabeth has silently moved closer. Before he can react, she draws his sword from his scabbard and swings at him with all her might. His sword is one-handed and meant for lunging, and her grip is weak; Norrington catches the sword at the base of the blade just above the hilt before it can cleave his shoulder. The edge bites instead into his palm, spilling hot blood down his wrist. Norrington grits his teeth against the pain. “Elizabeth, I am not your enemy!”

1, 4, 12, 20, 29, and 30 for the fanfiction asks!
WOOF OKAY XD
1) How old were you when you first starting writing fanfiction?
I technically wrote self insert LOTR, Zelda, and Pirates of the Caribbean fanfic when I was 13, but I had no idea what that was called and I never shared it with anyone.
I had a very short lived spurt when I was like 23 of wanting to write a My Little Pony/Persona 4 crossover that I had all planned out and never ended up writing because the FIM fandom got real gross real fast and I stopped participating in it.
So my real honest to god first published fic was TAZ, and I was 29 haha.
4) What is your favourite genre to write for?
Already answered this, but Magical Realism!
12) Who is your favourite character to write for? Why?
MAGNUS MOTHERFUCKING BURNSIDES.  I like writing heroic softies, and Magnus comes to me so easily because of that.  He’s absolutely the kind of character I would make.
20) Are there any stories that you wished you’d ended differently?
I don’t know about ending differently, but I do wish I had spent a little more time on the second half of Strange and Beautiful.  The first half is great, and the build up to the sex is cute and fun, but the sex itself is really rushed because I thought the fic was going on too long and I didn’t want to cut any of the build up.  I wish I had made the sex a little slower and a little more tender?
29) Do you have a story that you feel doesn’t get as much love as you’d like?
My bottom 3 on AO3 are all fics I genuinely really love and think deserve attention so in case any of y’all haven’t read them:
A fever you can’t sweat out is a cute stolen century magnus/taako sick fic where magnus contracts a local illness and taako has to take care of him.  It’s very warm and fuzzy, and I’m actually kinda shocked it didn’t take off.
You’re all I want for Candlenights is a Barry/Lup fic that talks about how they prepare for two different Candlenights: the first one after lup regains her body, and the one all those years ago where they gave their bodies up.  It’s a stealth marriage fic with lots of thought put into it because I wrote it for a candlenights exchange.
A Warm Cup of Caring is my least read fic but I fucking love it.  Magnus goes for a fantasy starbucks run and thinks about relationships, Julia, and Taako.  It’s very gentle and sweet, and has possibly the best line I have ever written about Magnus which is “He was made for love, built for hugging and holding and cherishing others.“
30) In contrast to 29 is there a story which gets lots of love which you kinda eye roll at?
I don’t have any that I genuinely eye roll at, I’m rather fond of what I’ve written overall.  Even my really weird wrestling au fic The Sunset Flip, has good moments.  I do genuinely wonder why Show Me How He Likes to Feel, which was baby’s first attempt at a smut fic and primarily written at two in the morning, is my second most popular fic.  It’s pretty tame by all standards and not that sexy, I even have a disclaimer in the notes saying I’m ace and do not understand sex lol.
