Big fan of the way Dracula Daily hasn't broken out of Tumblr in any real way

primarily, because I love being able to casually mention it to non-tumblr friends like I'm just that kind of cool, intellectual and cultural person who signs up to projects where you read a classic novel over the course of 6 months, and not because it's a big social media trend.

Whilst, actually it is a big social media trend, and I get to make and see lots of stupid memes and just, have fun with y'all in this space

Y'all have forgotten so quickly that this was once an innovative and exciting platform, not simply "soft, sad freaks on an unprofitable website"

Watching y'all pretend to be the fount of tumblr knowledge, but clutching your pearls that people other than Mr Gaiman or Wheaton are here is so funny

I know everyone has a lot to say about Mina's holiday, but I think there's interesting history in;

"Men all in a panic of fear, sent a round robin, asking for double watch," from the Log of the Demeter

Like me, you might associate "round robin" with Christmas cards or a style of tournament.

But here, in Dracula, it means that the crew wrote their request and then signed it in a ribbon (robin) or circle, so as to not identify the instigator, or those who were first to sign, and thus avoid punishment for those specific people!

Here's what they can look like:

The below example is actually from sailors!

I think that's such a neat and simple work around to avoid punishment and allow people to organise and show support without being singled out.

I think it's so sweet that Colin gets to be the catalyst that's thrown them full wack into being a true found family.

Colin, who despite his very nature, tried so often to get them to do things together, to try and fix arguments, who was worried about taking a promotion because he didn't want less time for them.

And I love that Colin has a clean slate too, he actually gets to be involved now, he gets to be a true part of the family and not just a guy always treated with distrust who's just kind of there most of the time.
