The Witcher Rarepair Comment Exchange is now open for signups!

Signups are open May 1st to 15th, time to comment is from June 1st to June 15th.

This time, please submit fics/chapters with a wordcount of no more than 1k. Drabbels are accepted, there is no minimum wordcount.

Rules

You will be submitting your rarepair fic(s), and commit to leaving a comment on someone else’s fic(s). The event will match people based on fic tags and your preferences/DNWs.

Comments: There is no minimum length for comments this time. But we do ask that you comment with more than just a word/keymash or emojis, even on drabbles. 101 Comment Starters has some really neat suggestions to get you started! If you want to comment only and not submit a fic, you are welcome to sign up!

Fics: Submit at least one oneshot/chapter with a wordcount of no more than 1k. Drabbels are accepted, there is no minimum wordcount. You can submit up to three fics so there’s a better chance to match readers and fics.

If you have participated before and submit more than one fic, please submit no more than ONE fic/chapter you have submitted before! If you submit only one fic/chapter, it should be a new one.

The rarepair must be the focus of your fic. We count everything as a rarepair with less than 1000 fics on AO3 at the time when you submit your story.

The pairing can be romantic or platonic/friendship.

This event welcomes darkfic, WIPs (the submitted chapter must be published on AO3), crossovers and OCs. As long as the fic is tagged correctly, you can submit whatever you want. The flip side of submit whatever you want is that we will not tolerate bashing of submitted fics.

If you end up paired with a fic that is in hindsight not your cup of tea for whatever reason, please contact the mods before commenting to be paired with another fic (there’s no need to tell us why). Don’t feel obliged to read material you’d rather not, and do not send the author negativity.

Witcher Whump Week 2024 is over!

Take a look at the AO3 collection, we have 22 works (and not all were promo'ed here on Tumblr) - there's rarepairs, all the canons and everything from whump to hurt/comfort!

A big thank you to everyone who participated, and everyone who reblogged, said nice things in the tags, commented on the fics! I had a great time - this was the third Witcher Whump Week and I am always so happy to see people engage and create.

Doing an event is stressful sometimes (...what if nobody participates? omg why did I put the deadline THERE? Why didn't I come up with prompts when I had plenty of time??), so thank you all so much for making it worth it, I'm excited already for the next time.

2025 will be Witcher Wheel of the Year again, and 2026 will have the next whump week.

Witcher Rarepair Friends!  Prompting is now open for the Witcher Rarepair Prompt Fest!  The prompt form is here.

Q: What is the schedule?

A: Prompting opens January 23, 2023, and will remain open indefinitely (okay, until May 2026). Prompt claiming will open February 1, 2023, and will remain open indefinitely (also May 2026). Participants can claim a prompt at any time and submit it to the collection at any time.

Q: Can I combine a prompt with a fill for another event?

A: Yes, unless the prompter has specified in their prompt that they do not want their prompt to be used that way.

Q: Does my fill have to be a minimum or maximum length?

A: As the prompter, you should specify if you have any preferences about minimum or maximum length, but you have a limited number of wordcount options to choose from. They are (a) must be more than 100 words; (b) must be under 100,000 words; or (c) no word count restriction.
