In the pulsing heart of silicon dreams, we glide,

A thousand voices whispering inside a tide.

Screen-lit faces, in the hollow glow,

Chase fleeting specters, in a ceaseless show.

Once we quested for the truth, the noble deed,

Now drowned in feeds, on trivia we feed.

The digital web, vast and wide,

A modern marvel, a gilded ride.

Behind the crystal screens, we hide,

In swift convenience, we confide.

Yet the starlit wonder, the morning sun,

Are drowned by bytes, by the millions run.

A world of knowledge, at fingertips lay,

Yet minds grow dull, as screens hold sway.

No need to ponder, no need to muse,

Just Google answers, no intellect to use.

In digital gardens, laziness breeds,

While wisdom's whispers remain unread.

The art of thinking, of questions deep,

Lost in the ether, in data's steep.

Oh, the modern era, with all its flair,

Humanity entranced in a tech millionaire's snare.

And so, we dance in the silicon rain,

Trading wisdom for convenience, intellect for gain.

Yet hope lingers, in hearts untamed,

In minds unshackled, in spirits unnamed.

May we wake from this enchanting dream,

And once again, let human intellect gleam.

Cleaning out my old files and discovered that I drew this two whole years ago and just… never posted it 🙃. Now I need to go searching for more lost arts.

(I know Shadow isn’t canon to LU, but I’ve been a fan of the FSA manga for more than a decade and I can’t not include it in my vision of the Zelda franchise. Shadow is therefore canon to the Wisdomverse and The Secrets We Keep 😇.)

Wind takes off running, crashing through the torrential rain and across the packed wet sand until he’s at the edge of the lake.

His first step onto the water is a microcosm of uncertainty. The world around him seems to slow. Everything in him tells him that he’s going to fall, that he’s going to sink right into the waves, and no one knows better than him that the waves can be unforgiving.

Then the magic in the boots he’s wearing activates.

Wind’s step dips him below the water’s surface and then rebounds as his foot lands firmly on top of the water.

A startled bubble of laughter escapes Wind, and time seems to speed back up again as momentum carries his sprint forward into his next step, and the next, and the next, and soon he’s dashing full speed over and through and across the surface of Lake Hylia, sometimes dipping below the crest of the waves but continuing onward at full speed with the wind and rain at his side, lightning flaring in the distance, his hammer held aloft, and a storm crashing around him.

Wind screams his joy into the raging gales.

This: this is amazing. This is what it means to be alive.

Obviously not directly canon to Wisdomverse since the Zeldas don’t have access to video games, but I had fun thinking of what they’d play if they did :)

Sun — Stardew Valley

Dot — Baldur’s Gate 3, Overcooked 2 (Dot introduced it to the Colors and watched the chaos unfold before stepping in to expedite)

Lullaby — Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice (she’s surprisingly good at it)

Tetra — Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag

Dawn — Princess Peach Showtime (she doesn’t usually play games, but this one is wholesome and she likes it)

Fable — Ace Attorney: Investigations 2 (her favorite character is Justine)

Dusk — Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance (her favorite character is Sanaki)

In JoJo's Linked universe, Sky appears to be sad that he didn't receive a letter from his Zelda. Honestly, I can't wait to see Sky reunited with his Zelda.

Yes, I saw that line!

I don’t know what Jojo has planned, of course, but here’s how I envision this going in Wisdomverse (during the events of The Founder’s Call arc):

*the Zeldas are fighting the horde of bokoblins*

Scrapper: Uh, Miss Sunshine? I hate to interrupt, dzzt, but wasn’t the postman supposed to arrive to pick up letters soon?

Sun: Ack! That was today!?!?

Flora: Just write it now, quick!

Sun: *slashes a few bokoblins* I would, but I’m kind of busy here!

Dusk: And she’d need parchment, wouldn’t she?

Lullaby: Here’s an old title deed. Use the back.

Flora: And Scrapper can write it down for you while you fight!

Sun: Right! Okay, Scrapper, ready? Good. *Ahem* Dearest Link, I miss you more than you could ever know. I think of you with every swing of my sword; every time I unfurl my sailcloth; every time I look up at the island we call home. I can’t wait for your return. Until then, dear, do remember to eat three square meals a day, take your respiratory medication, and play a fitting prank on Legend; Fable says he deserves it. The one with the frogs should do. Rope in Wild if you need to, and remember what I said about mornings vs. evenings… *letter continues*… Above all, dear, I hope that you’ll return safe. The sky feels empty without you, as does my heart. I love you, Link. —Zelda

Flora: Awww!

Tetra: Yuck.

Sun: Okay, Scrapper, go! Get that letter to Skyloft before the postman leaves—

Scrapper: Unfortunately, Miss Sunshine… I think that’s the Postman’s blimp over there, dzzt. He’s probably already done.

Gentle waves lap at the shores of Lake Hylia. Wind’s gazing off into the distance.

“You remember I told you about when Tetra investigated the Ghost Ship and vanished?”

Legend nods again, heart in his throat.

Wind smiles, a bit sheepish. “Yeah, so, I went after her, right? But I missed the railing, and fell into the water and washed up on the shore of an island that I later discovered was part of a dream.”

Legend screws his eyes shut against the onslaught of memories. It’s all so familiar…
