What exactly is Israeli food, you might ask? There’s no better way to acquaint yourself with the country’s gastronomic pleasures than partaking in a traditional Israeli breakfast. Almost all hotels offer a healthy spread (typically included in the cost of a room) of fruits, cheeses, salads, yogurts, breads, smoked salmon, and a variety of croissants and other baked goods. Niesamowite odkrycie jakiego dokonaliśmy w podlądyńskim Lesie Epping, jak również udział w turnieju rycerskim na zamku Hever nie mogły nie obić się bez echa i szybko dotarły na dwór królowej. Nie trzeba było więc długo czekać i w końcu zostaliśmy zaproszeni przez samą królową, aby uczestniczyć w polowaniu i uczcie przygotowywanej w jednej z jej posiadłości niedaleko gdzie mieszkamy. Nie wiedzieliśmy czego się spodziewać, bo to w końcu królowa, która kojarzy się z etykietą, dworem i co tu dużo mówić sztywnością w obyciu. Szybko jednak okazało się, że biesiadować uczyć się trzeba od najlepszych i to w najlepszych miejscach. A miejsce gdzieśmy byli – wino i miód pili – jest niesamowite..

Domek myśliwski królowej Elżbiety (Queen Elizabeth’s Hunting Lodge), jest unikalnym przykładem budynku z muru pruskiego (timber-framed building), który przetrwał do dnia dzisiejszego otoczony królewskim lasem myśliwskim. Domek ten pełni dziś funkcję muzeum, a także jest miejscem, gdzie odbywają się liczne wydarzenia historyczne. Znajduje się tutaj bogaty wybór strojów jakie nosili poddani królowej w epoce Tudorów, a które można przymierzyć i poczuć się jak poddany Jej Wysokości Królowej Elżbiety. Jest to również miejsce gdzie można zapoznać się z różnymi herbami, ich pochodzeniem i znaczeniem.

Z okien drugiego piętra można natomiast podziwiać najbardziej spektakularny widok na Las Epping i wyobrazić go sobie jak wyglądał w dzień polowań. Na tym piętrze również podziwiać mały zestaw łamigłówek z konstrukcji dachu z drewna w tym domu Tudorów.

And then we realized the ghastly blunder of talking to the people who work there, and spoilt all of the splendor. Brutal Fistfights Are Depressingly Common

Riding a roller coaster in the winter is like going blasted in the appearance by an ice-shotgun, so theme parks tend to do the majority of members of their business in the summer. That comes with its own difficulties: Between the hot, the long wrinkles, and the smell of contaminate sweat, tensions lead higher than some of the people operating the rides. Fistfights are basically ensure. Anthony, who used to work at a pretty famous theme park, tells us TAGEND

“I told him it’s five dollars, but you’ll have to go to the back of the line, a “mens and” his daughter are up next. He reads, ‘Fuck that! I wanna play now! ‘ ‘Sir, get out of the behavior, it’s our turn.’ ‘No! Fuck you! ‘ Then that pa smacked the drunk guy so fucking hard. Knocked out fucking cold. Both beings got kicked out of the park. I attained sure that dad got a reward for his “girls “, though. Dude deserved it.”

We’re sure the daughter had so much better recreation that day, and was in no way scarred by these events.

Do Not Eat Anything, Ever

If you’re a fan of corn dogs, Anthony is about to spoil your day — even more than your several-corn-dog lunch would TAGEND

“Regular practice in our kitchens — when we find rodent fells — is to throw away only whatever the drops are on.”

“We had a bad rodent problem, and any of our food that was OBVIOUSLY in contact with mice was shed out, while nutrient who are able to even be in the same suitcase was saved.”

“Like many other corporations, the park was all about their bottom line, ” Anthony persists. “They will try to save money any room possible, and that, unfortunately, typically was seemed in our meat business district. Our fryers were hardly ever changed, and the petroleum would be there months. I have also understood hires droop food on the soil, and continue to use it. I have no idea if their standards have gotten better, but I refuse to eat in the common anymore.”

Though to be fair to the park, you are supposed to be wino when confronted with that decision.

Some Parks Operate On Slave Labor

Outsourcing responsibilities is old hat. Nowadays, all the cool theme parks are really into insourcing, i.e. hiring seasonal help from abroad for so little fund, you’d “re going to have to” doubled it to call it a “slave wage.”

“Our park participates in a foreign exchange curriculum targeting economically depressed countries, ” Anthony reads, “like Turkey, and Thailand, to find students who want to participate in their foreign ‘work study’ program.”

Anthony was right to use quotation marks there, because the only act foreign exchange proletarians actually contemplated was the art of grifting.

Foreign works at Anthony’s park were brought into the country with predicts of enjoyable operate, good remunerate, and all the narcotics they could steal from the person who runs the bumper gondolas. In actuality, though TAGEND

“They are paid the same minimum wages we were, except 70 percent of their paycheck is given back to the common for chamber and board rates. Since “they il be” being paid minimum wage and having their hire taken out of it, most laborers end up not stimulating enough to pay back the cost of what it took to operate out there.”

Well, that is pretty representative of the modern-day American experience. Good profession, theme parks?

If You’re A Live-in Employee At An Theme park, They Own You

The problem with human employees is that they’re sometimes late, or get sick, or insist on having their own lives outside of task. That’s why theme park cannot wait for current technology to catch up to Westworld . In the meantime, they just have to settle for house some of their local proletarians in fellowship dormitories as well, thus awarding themselves an lunatic degree of govern over their workers’ lives.

Staying at Tintswalo Atlantic in Cape Town

As much as I love city life, sometimes I just need to get away from it all. Living in Cape Town, the best place that I’ve found to do that is Tintswalo Atlantic boutique lodge.

Nested in the Table Mountain National Park, this five-star boutique lodge feels a world away from the hustle and bustle of the city. With panoramic views of Hout Bay, this place is the ultimate escape.

Here’s my experience staying at Tintswalo Atlantic in Cape Town!

Getting to Tintswalo Atlantic

From the heart of Cape Town, Tintswalo Atlantic is just a thirty-minute drive along the stunning, coastal drive inside Table Mountain National Park.

When you’re traveling outside the major cities in South Africa, your best bet is to rent a car. It will give you the freedom to travel off the beaten path and see some of the country’s hidden treasures.

The location couldn’t be any better– consider road tripping around Chapman’s Peak to Cape Point and enjoying the Cape Peninsula during your stay.

The Hotel

Tintswalo Atlantic is the only luxury hotel in the National Park. Located beneath Chapman’s Peak, this place is a dream beachfront location!

This is definitely my favorite property in the Cape Town area, and I’m not alone in those sentiments. It’s truly the perfect weekend escape from the city, and a great option for both travelers and locals.

The Tintswalo Atlantic is typically fully booked (far in advance), so plan on booking as soon as you have a date in mind.

The Rooms

There is a fabulous selection of island suites at the Tintswalo Atlantic. Drawing inspiration from far-flung locales like Sicily, Zanzibar, and Java, each room has its own unique, effortlessly chic style.

The one thing that every island suite has in common is privacy. In each of the ten suites, you’ll feel like you’re in a private cabin by the beach.

Best of all, Tintswalo is beautiful in every season.

With decks overlooking the ocean and fireplaces to cozy up in front of, this is the perfect place to get away from it all, all year round. It’s also the perfect spot to create your own DIY spa. The rooms have heated floors and bathtubs with a breathtaking view.

They also have the softest robes I’ve ever felt—I’m actually so obsessed with the Tintswalo’s robes that I bought one to take home with me!

The Food

The Tintswalo Atlantic restaurant is focused on fresh, locally sourced, and sustainable foods. We started every day on a massive wooden deck overlooking the ocean. It’s was an ideal spot to indulge in some incredible food while taking in the ocean air.

Lunch and dinner service is always available on request and it’s all about customization.

You can even hop into the kitchen, sip some wine, and learn a few insider tricks from some of South Africa’s top chefs while they create a bespoke dining experience just for you.

The Tintswalo chefs are also exceptionally good at working with dietary restrictions, so just tell them what you are looking for, and plan to come hungry.

Activities

While it’s secluded, you could never be bored at the Tintswalo Atlantic. It’s just a quick drive to Cape Town for a world of retail therapy, endless cafés and restaurants, and some of Africa’s best nightlife. The vineyards surrounding the area are also some of my fave in the world and are a must-see for any wino.

Of course, it’s also an ideal spot to get back to nature. Go on a diving expedition, meet the locals out at Penguin Island, or chill poolside at the Tintswalo Atlantic’s sparkling pool.

– In My Opinion –

While Cape Town’s tourism boom is typically for summer travel, I think Tintswalo is one of the best hotels to offer appeal year-round. I visited in the winter and it was so cozy and charming! On a rainy winter’s day, some hotels feel a bit dark and depressing. But, there’s a whole different charm to Tintswalo in the cold mornings and evenings.

Even though I only got a couple hours of sunshine to warm myself by the pool, I cuddled up on the patio at sunset with a blanket and cocktail in hand, and later cozied up in my robe by the fire.

As for length of stay, 1 night is perfect for locals or anyone with limited time in Cape Town. Even if you aren’t able to book a stay, it’s definitely worth reserving lunch or dinner at Tintswalo.

Napa Valley - Disneyland for Winos On A Budget

Napa Valley is a winos overwhelming dream. Admittedly, we Winos are a little biased. Mark and Stacie both lived in the Bay Area of California and visited in the 90’s whenever someone came into town to visit. Gopi and Denise travelled extensively to Napa for ‘research’ before their wedding more than 9 years ago. This foursome has visited together several times, but this is the first formal visit since we have launched the site. SO, this trip was a mixture of visiting our ‘go to’ favorite wineries and some new options we uncovered.

Here are some general considerations when planning a wine tasting trip in Napa Valley:

Figure out where to fly into:

· San Francisco – If you can visit the city, this is a good option. As a ‘land and drive’ location, this is the worst of your three closest options. Renting a car is a pain compared to the two other airports, getting through the city and over the Golden Gate can take you a long time, and once you get past Sausalito, you will have the same type of sights as you would from the other landing points.

· Oakland – Easy to get in and out of. Rental car is off-site but easy to navigate. Quick baggage claim. About an hour and ½ drive time depending on traffic. There could be a traffic issue until you get into the Benecia area. Metro Oakland and Berkeley can get jammed up certain parts of the day, so plan for more windshield time if you are traveling during rush hours.

· Sacramento – Probably our number one choice with all else being equal. Fast to navigate everything and not much traffic all the way to Napa Valley. Even with some road work, we made it in an hour and ½ on an early Friday afternoon. By the way, most flights are the same cost as going into Oakland J

Figure out where to stay:

· B&Bs - There are a million options – if this is your dream vacation, we recommend spending a little more for one of these.

· Embassy Suites - Ok, they get a special shout out from us, but that’s because of two things: location to Napa wineries and great breakfast to prepare for an aggressive wine tasting day. Depending on the time of year you go, this can be a very affordable option (not during ‘crush’ though). The extra room with the pullout bed adds room for a third person or second couple if you really want to save your budget for wineries – and you REALLY like your friends!

· Napa Valley Wine Lodge - This is where we stayed this trip. Famous people through the years have stayed here. No, not because it’s glamorous. This simple motor lodge format has clean rooms, a pool and hot tub, and a great breakfast in the morning! During crush the prices go through the roof, but this place kept it reasonable. We will definitely go back.

Figure out how to get around safely:

This is the MOST IMPORTANT PART OF YOUR TRIP!!!! You are there to drink wine. Even if you bring your own ‘DD’, they won’t be able to resist – and they wouldn’t be reading this website probably…

· Renting a Limo - This is the most expensive option by far. Ranging from $600 - $800 for a full day, unless you need the comfort for a large group and can split the cost between people, consider our other recommendations to spend your money on the wineries instead of how you got there.

· Renting a town car/SUV with driver - Good option for larger groups. There are several reputable agencies (we have probably tried 4 of them) and the pricing is comparable. Check online for any special deals. Anyone who is driving in Napa Valley will have good customer service and some knowledge of the area. For people who want more of a ‘Guide’, be sure to ask the person at the company for a driver that has access to wineries that require reservations or advance notice. Those people are usually tenured drivers who can fill in the drive time with guide-like fun facts.
