Despite being tossed a few curveballs by the universe over the last few months we finally got our studio space in working order! The goal was to fix up the space using as many ♻️ recycled items as possible since we wanted to keep things out of the landfill and also had no budget. We started around the beginning of the year by stalking Craigslist and FreeCycle and were so lucky to score shops lights, work benches, cabinets and a monster sized 3 compartment sink for free. In addition we used old pallets to rebuild the doors, add some partitions and patch holes. In the end we only spent money on paint, screws & bolts, and plumbing fixtures. We would have never been able to do this without the generosity of those who donated all those big items and our amazing neighbors who set us up with the space (shout out to the @willowfarm, thank you so much.) Having a dedicated space to store, clean and cut bottles for our candle line and build market/retail displays is something we've never had. We just got word we'll be able to return to some of our Farmer's Markets in about 2 weeks and many of our retailers are reopening in the Bay Area so the timing couldn't be better.
