Sometimes, I’d get this feeling in my shoulders. I’d feel the brush of my shirt against my shoulder blades, and something under my skin would flutter, twisting inside me and sending shivers over my chest and down my spine. 2: yes. not all the time, not super often but often enough, and it varies in intensity from "hm. wish I had wings" to... close to what I wrote there 😅 I tried to put to words the feeling that I get sometimes, that aching longing for something i can't ever have, but in alli's voice and foreshadowing for her experience

When talk of a chronically online post crosses your dash and people are- rightfully- critiquing the OP because the OP does not understand that there's no linguistic difference between "can not," "cannot," and "can't."

"Cannot" is just the closed form of "can not" while "can't" is a contraction of "can not." If you can easily flip between "can not," "cannot," and "can't" in the sentence and it will not change the meaning for the reader, then the "not" in "can not" is not a part of a separate phrase.
