The best songs of the 1970s
“What started out as a joke has turned into a disaster!” - Stu Nahan, Rocky IV
So my employment has me in my car a lot, which means I’m listening to the radio a lot. If I’m not listening to a podcast or baseball game through my phone I also have SiriusXM, which of course has a plethora of musical options. I gravitate to the 70s and 80s channels because, well, of course I do.
Something else about me you may or may not know is that I love ranking things. I have a Note on my phone I’m regularly accessing that is nothing but different types of rankings.
Thus, you can imagine my excitement when the 70s on 7 station announced a listener-voted Top 700 Songs of the 70s countdown over Labor Day weekend. It was a fun listen. They went through it twice over the four day weekend, and I was laboring much so I heard much.
It prompted me to think: What are my top seventy songs of the 70s? Surely I wasn’t going to come up with a top 700. After all, some in that list were real stinkers. But seventy? No problem. And indeed, it wasn’t hard to come up with that many songs. The hard part was narrowing it down. And once I did, there were still so many songs on my list I had enough for more lists, so I expanded it to 140, then 210, and... well...
I’m about to give you the authoritative list of the 350 best songs of the 1970s. I originally put out a Top 70 list on Facebook a few weeks ago. Much that of that list remains the same, with a few changes. But now there is much more. I’ve divided these into five “volumes” of seventy songs. They are my picks, but I welcome your feedback, because what’s a good set of rankings without debate and discussion.

Movies I watched in January 2021.
(only includes movies I watched for the first time)
 A stranger outside (directed by Jake Helgren) – 2018 (12) 2½ stars.
This film is a who is it/who did it movie about a girl named Daphne (played by Brittney Underwood) who is babysitting a young boy called Toby (played by Jet Jurgensmeyer) whose parents are out of town.
I gave it a low rating since I found it very dumb and the acting is not good, a hard movie to take seriously, the characters are also very stupid, and it is an overall very predictable movie.
But saying that, I would still recommend if you want to watch a movie you can make fun of and like seeing family bonds being made (between the babysitter and the boy). It is also a good movie if you want to get into horrors/thrillers or get someone else into them.
*spoilers*
The main reasons I found this a dumb movie is how obvious it was that the maid was the killer, like, what maid only cleans the kitchen and does it in less than 5 minutes? She was also an overall bad killer and felt like a very lazy try.
Also, the girls reaction to everything, I don’t understand why they didn’t lock all the doors and how Daphne walked through the door that she put the windchime, a very dumb move. Also, Daphne’s friends when being killed, I could not wait for the scene to be over, she wasn’t doing a particularly good job at trying to escape.

Uncle frank (directed by Alan Ball)– 2020 (15) 5 stars.
This film is about an 18-year-old named Beth (played by Sofia Lillis) who travels back from Manhattan to her hometown Creek Ville, South Carolina, with her uncle Frank (played by Paul Bettany) for a funeral and end up being joined by his boyfriend (Played by Peter Macdissi).
I gave this film such a high rating because of how real this movie feels and how the acting feels so pure and you can tell that they put effort into this. I also just really love family connections in movies. It is just such a beautiful movie, made me cry so much. This film also really highlights how much Frank is terrified of his parents fining out he is gay.
I just highly recommend this movie. Anything I say will not do this film justice.
*spoilers*
The main scenes that really stuck out to me where: 1) The flash back scenes between young Frank and past lover Sam. Mainly the scene where his dad (played by Stephen Root) catches them together one night. And he didn’t the relationship his son had with the other boy, which sends Frank into a panic. This scene also shows the type of man his dad was and how that impacted Frank.
2) The will reading where Frank is outed. This scene really pinpoints how much hatred Franks dad had towards him. In this scene you can also see the sheer panic he has and doesn’t want to stick around and find out what is family will say.

Deadly detention (directed by Blair Hayes) – 2017 (15) 1 star.
This film is about 5 high school students; the ‘hot girl’ Lexi (played by Alex Frnka), ‘hot boy’ Barrett (played by Henry Zaga), the ‘sporty female jock’ Jessica (played by Sarah Davenport), ‘the skateboarder’ Taylor (played by Jenifer Robyn Jacobs) and the ‘presumed gay, Christian’ with his bejewelled bible named Kevin (played by Coy Stewart), who all have Saturday detention. Their detention takes place in a now closed prison with someone trying to kill them.
I gave the film such a low rating since its just bad. The script is awful, the characters are written so poorly, I can’t believe this movie was able to be realised, it is also very predictable, you are able to tell who the killer is within the first 10 minutes.
This movie gave me the vibe of a poorly rewrite of ‘the breakfast club’ if it was a horror in prison. But if you want something you can watch to laugh at and not take seriously then you could watch this.
*spoilers*
The main things that really annoyed me with this film are not that the killer was obviously the cop but that:
1)    Barrett never stops smiling! Someone is trying to kill him, and he doesn’t even care.
2)    Taylor and her skateboard, she can’t even ride properly, she should have left it, it’s not important.
3)    Keven and his light up shoes, and how he had to make sure they were on the same colour, he should leave them alone and hide.
4)    And just the fact that Barrett and Lexi care more about hooking up than trying to escape a killer, especially when Berrett is already dating Jessica.

Deadpool (directed by Tim Miller) – 2016 (15) 4 stars.
This film is about a man named Wade Wilson (played by Ryan Reynolds), who wants to get revenge on a man named ajax/Francis (played by Ed Skrein) for experimenting on him to cure Wades cancer and to give him healing abilities, but it ends up leaving him disfigured.
I gave this movie a high rating because of how it managed to include multiple genres at once; for example, this film included, action, a little gore, comedy, raunchy and romance. Also, the uses of breaking the fourth wall, I think was done particularly well.
Other things I like about this film is that he does not call himself a hero, because he does not want to be and at the end of the day, he isn’t one, but he’s also not a villain.
*spoilers*
An example of this is right near the end when Colossus is giving that classic ‘you can be a hero’ hero speech, Deadpool shoots Ajax. Because killing him was what the main plot of the film was.

Soul (directed by Pete Doctor) – 2020 (PG) 3½ stars.
This film is about the journey of jazz piano player/middle school teacher, Joe Gardner (voiced by Jamie Foxx), who experiences a near death experience that gets him trapped in the afterlife, trying to reunite his soul and body, who is landed the responsibility to be the mentor to the soul, 22 (voiced by Tina Fey), who needs to find her spark to be sent to earth.
I gave this movie a middle rating because I like what it portrays – where your dreams come from, where your interests come from, also that for some, it can take a lot longer than others to figure out what they are. However, I feel like this film feel flat the longer it went on, it also feels like the people working on this got bored at the end and did not care anymore. Could as well be due to do with the fact that there were a couple things I thought would happen and make more sense but did not happen.
But its still, at the end of the day a cute, funny, family movie and great for kids to learn that they should do what they love and its okay if they take longer than others to figure out what they love to do.
*spoilers*
Examples of what I thought would happen/hoped would happen that would have made sense to be in the film are:
1)    I was expecting that Joe was going to realise that he liked being a teacher. The flash backs really set up that was going to happen but then I just did not.
2)    I was hoping that we would get a time skip to a few years later and joe and the person that 22 went into would meet. I was expecting that the happen from the beginning.
*spoilers done*
Adventures in babysitting/A night in the town (directed by Chris Columbus) – 1987 (12 or pg. if you watch the Disney + cut) 4 stars.
This film is about 17-year-old Chris Parker (played by Elisabeth Shue) who is babysitting 8-year-old Sara Anderson (played by Maia Brewton) and her 15-year-old brother, Brad (Played by Keith Coogan), but ends up in a night full of adventures, along with Brad’s friend, Daryl (played by Anthony Rapp), due to Chris needing to pick up her friend, Brenda (played by Penelope Ann Miller).
I gave this movie a high rating because I think it’s a nice funny, sweet movie. I has great family like bonds between them all, which I love to see, and it makes you feel good watching it.
What I liked in this film was that it felt like it wasn’t trying to be realistic and because of that anything so unrealistic that happens feels normal.
I do highly recommend this movie to anyone who likes comedic adventurous films.
*spoilers*
One thing I liked that I found funny was how the gang was trying to capture the kids and Chris all because of the Playboy.
I also really love the scene when we find out Chris’s boyfriend, mike (played by Bradley Whitford), was cheating and after Brads speech about Chris then says he isn’t going to hurt mike because he is a bigger person, Daryl kicks mike. I think the main reason I loved this scene was because it really shows how different each character is from each other, but they still have a great friendship.
One thing that did annoy me about this film was Chris and Dan together at the end. It would have been okay for me, but she broke up with her boyfriend that night. Also, we don’t know how old Dan is, all we know is he is in collage and Chris is 17 in high school.
*spoilers done*
Z-O-M-B-I-E-S (directed by Paul Hoen) – 2018 (pg.) 4½ stars.
This film is about a zombie named Zed (played by Milo Manheim) and a human cheerleader named Addison (played by Meg Donnelly) who become close very quickly and need to hide that due to the fact that humans still believe that zombies are evil monsters.
I gave this film a high rating due to the how this movie made me feel, it quickly became a comfort movie for me, if you watch it you will understand where I’m coming from.
I also want to point out that yes, this is a very cheesy movie but its Disney channel, what else do you expect?
And despite it being the classic Disney channel cheese it is, I would like to pinpoint that it covers issues I think kids should learn about, for example; discrimination, not to pay attention to stereotypes and rumours also not to bully someone and just because they may be ‘different’
Highly recommend to all kids and anyone older if they love cheesy films.
*spoilers*
I have seen that some people don’t like the fact that Addison compared her hair would get her treated the same way Zed gets does, and I can see where they come from but to me, I interpret Addison’s hair and wig as real things people can hide about themselves, so they don’t get treated badly and zombies as something that people can’t hide about themselves.
*spoilers done*
Z-O-M-B-I-E-S 2 (directed by Paul Hoen) – 2020 (pg.) 2 ½ stars
This film is about werewolves coming to Seabrook/Zombietown due to their charms running out of their powers, needing to find the moon stone with help from a whitehaired teenager.
I gave this movie a low rating mainly due to how much it disappointed me. I expected much more, especially because of how the first one was amazing. This film felt very fast paced and felt like they didn’t put as much effort into it.
But saying that I do recommend watching, it’s still a fun time watching.
*spoilers*
Examples of what annoyed me in this movie was;
1.     How the zombies as well as the humans automatically assumed the werewolves where evil. You would have thought that the zombies would be more understanding since humans thought that about them before and that humans wouldn’t have jumped to that conclusion as they were wrong about zombies.
2.     The ban on all monsters when the zombies didn’t do anything wrong.
3.     How bucky went back to hating zombies. I don’t understand why because at the end of the first movie he realised zombies aren’t bad.
4.     Eliza should have ran for school resident! Mainly due to her having such strong views I feel like she would have taken it very seriously.

Official secrets (directed by Gavin Hood) – 2019 (15) 3¾ stars
This film is about the true events of Katherine Gun (played by Kira Knightly), who is a British intelligence specialist and leaked secret information about an illegal NSA spy operation made to urge the UN security council to give approval for the 2003 invasion of Iraq, to the press hoping to avoid this from happening.
I gave this movie this rating due to how it keeps you engaged in what is happening, despite it being a sort of slow burn. Also, from what I heard it stayed true the real events (I’m 17 so I wasn’t old enough to remember it myself) and I like how it used the actual news footage.
This movie is also easy to follow and to know what’s happening.
I highly recommend this film if you love learning about true events/find them interesting.
The green mile (directed by Frank Darabont) – 1999 (18) 5 stars
This film is about Paul Edgecomb (played by Tom Hanks and Dabbs Greer), the commanding officer of the death row cellblock at Cold Mountain Penitentiary in Louisiana, who meets inmate, John Coffey (played by Michael Clarke Duncan), who has been accused of murdering two young girls. Paul’s life isn’t the same when he discovers John’s special gifts.
I gave this movie such a high rating because it’s just such a masterpiece of a movie. The actors did an amazing job at portraying their characters and made sure you like the characters your meant to like, despite what they did in the past and dislike the characters your meant to dislike.
This movie also gave me so many emotions, for example, one moment I’m really happy and the movie is making me feel good then the next I can’t stop crying.
Despite the rating being an 18+, I would recommend to anyone 15+.
*spoilers*
I would like to state that the mouse, Mr. Jingles is my favourite character so, if you have seen it, you can guess that when Percy (played by Doug Hutchinson) stepped on the poor thing busted into tears and then when John healed him, I started crying even more because I was so happy.
I also thought the ending to the film was very poetic in the way the Paul is still alive and that being his curse, and having to see everyone he cares about die, due to John being executed despite, in the end, being innocent.

Those are all the movies I watched this month. Please know that these are my opinions, and its perfectly okay of you have different ones.
This is the first time I have ever done something like this so please let me know how I can improve. And let me know your thoughts.

35. Part 2
Tumblr media
I am still annoyed at the fact my wife wanted to wear sexy lingerie, does she not have a brain cell, why did nobody say no. Robyn knew I would say no, she wouldn’t have called me up here in the first place, she is attention seeking. She looked so beautiful though, I want her to wear that in the bedroom for later. I am waiting here until she can bring her ass out rightly dressed, Robyn dragged the door open “seriously, what is your problem? Why can’t you just be normal?” now she is naked “I am in my own bedroom, I can walk around butt naked and not want your pencil dick” she said storming into the closet “well this pencil dick got your fat ass pregnant, how are you going to go to Disney fucking land looking like some hoe? Who does that? You may could have done this being single but not anymore” watching Robyn hold the dress she initially showed me in the first place “since when did you lay the law down on what I wear huh? Now you take notice” I can’t speak to Robyn butt naked, turning my head “now you can’t even look at me, prude ass nigga or you think I am just too fat for you like you just called me fat ass” Robyn is playing up so much “because how about you won’t give me sex, I am feeling horny and you walking around naked turns me on, just get in the bathroom and get dressed” Robyn pouted turning around and walking into the bathroom, Robyn is playing up so much with me. She did that on purpose, I know her. She is playing havoc because I am going and then I told her that Monica is staying.
Robyn slowly opened the door stepping out “I am wearing a bra” she mumbled in annoyance “great, you look beautiful. This dress is beautiful, you look like an angel” dragging my eyes down, this white dress is figure hugging but beautiful, it shows the bump off so beautifully too. I don’t think she should be wearing heels, Robyn’ ankles look like a struggle but how do I even say that to her, rubbing my chin “so I guess we can go now” she said, clearing my throat “erm, yeah but” I have to say it to her, she is my wife and I want her to look the best, I don’t want nobody else to say it “you know I love you, I would always tell you the truth. I don’t say shit to upset you but to protect you, I am here for you for that” I hope Robyn can be civil and not have a meltdown “it’s weird, I can feel the baby move so much. It must know we are going to a party” smiling at her “I don’t think you should wear heels, your ankles are looking a little big. It’s too much babe, I love you. You know I do, I am the same guy to massage your feet so I know but let’s change those” Robyn looked down at her feet “I felt it but I like these heels” she is so stupid “then why wear it?” I questioned, she shrugged “because I am me, I do have backup shoes which are better” so she is not angry because she knew, why is my wife this way “what would I do without you” I feel like I am on a rollercoaster with Robyn.
Robyn squeezed my hand before walking down any further “I have to admit something” what has she done now “yes?” Robyn is playing so much havoc with me “I only wore that to test you if you found me sexy, I am getting ever so big and it’s like nothing is cute. I am sorry, it’s just. Imagining it from your point of view, I bet it’s like having sex with a baby elephant” I snorted laughing “but this is not you, you’re pregnant Robyn. I can deal, I can handle you. You just don’t listen to me on this, I think you are sexy either way” chuckling to myself “what is funny?” she questioned, I can’t stop giggling now “because you called yourself a baby elephant and I find it funny” so hilarious “but I feel that way but do I look nice now” nodding my head “my wife, you look beautiful. Come, let’s see the family” she is crazy, Robyn is just on something else with testing me out all of the time.
Monica and my mom look so happy “look at you both, you both took your time” if only Monica knew her daughter was trying to test me to know if she didn’t look like a baby elephant “yeah, just helping Robyn” Yusef has the biggest smirk on his face, I will get his little ass because he knew. Letting Robyn’ hand go, seeing my dog eating leftovers on the floor, Robyn will be so annoyed “boy, what you doing” grabbing his collar “you going to end up looking like a baby elephant eating all of this” this shit is so funny “you’re hilarious Chris” I jumped at Robyn behind me “well, sorry” pulling Zeus along “you bad as fuck, you know you need to stay behind the gate” his big ass can jump over that and I don’t want to get anything bigger because then I can never see them “so I am going to put you back, don’t come out. Mommy is uptight with you” Maleah touched his head “he is so fluffy uncle” opening the gate “he is, mind you. Rihanna wanted me to get rid of my babies, how could she even think of such evil things” I love them all so much.
“Uncle Chris, can we go with you” Mylen asked me, unlocking my Rolls Royce door “erm, I think you can” Robyn is taking forever to come down, seeing Mel behind Robyn and Yusef “I think this car might be full, you know what kids go with my mom” I don’t want Mel’ dumbass in the car but I don’t have a choice “but uncle she took my dad away” looking at Mel and then slowly turning my head away “come with me” placing my hands on Mylen’ shoulders “my mom is still going in a dope car, she taking my Range. When we go back to your home I will take a nice car then, I am in the middle with this, I am sorry” I feel so bad “I don’t like her, I am old enough uncle. It’s ok Maleah” I am so upset for these kids “ma!” I spat “take them for me” I pointed, my mom would have forgotten “look after my mom” I said to Frank “ok, Rich and Cass is waiting down the road for you. They will join after” sighing out walking back to the car, I don’t want to be in between this shit but if I need to be then I will have too. Mylen is too clever for his own liking, that’s my nephew though.
I don’t know why I have to drive these in my car, Yusef is ok. Placing my phone in the side panel, the phone connected to the car automatically “you seem off, is everything ok?” Robyn asked, driving the car slowly and my phone started ringing. Checking the caller I.D and my smile grew, Mijo’ baby mother. Answering the phone call, I didn’t manage to say hi at all “I am so sorry, you must be busy but the kids left the gift they bought you and also Mylen left his inhaler so can you please keep an eye on him” just what I wanted “I can come and pick it up, I mean the inhaler. I can get someone to come along” maybe not me, that will be awkward “ok, please thank you. And I hope you get the baby girl you want” I chuckled “aight, thank you. Bye” disconnecting the call, seeing Cass’ car as I drove by “doesn’t your lover man have any inhalers or does he not see them?”I said to Mel, looking at the rear-view mirror “I am not sure” Mel said “step mother should know these things” I feel so responsible for kids that ain’t even mine “can we not do this today” calling Sinko’ phone, I will get him to get it because I rather Mylen have it with him.
Getting out of the car “Pedro! My man” shaking his hand “Chris, I made it happen” he hugged me “I appreciate it” moving back letting his hand go “you said famous people was coming, we have had loads come with their kids, so many people and now you are all here. You left it to me and this is how it will go, oh look at you beautiful Rihanna” Pedro hugged Robyn “oh my god, the baby bump. Look how big it is. You all look beautiful” placing my arm around Robyn “she looks beautiful” I am proud of my wife “you right, we have all the staff catering to everyone needs but we have gathered everyone at Fantasyland, we are going to reveal the gender now. This is surprise for you but Anthony and I we know, he knows and he said we can do it first. We have transport, we will transport you all there. This all so exciting, only the best for you all. We have the party after, we have surprise for you then also” well I did leave it to him “Pedro, I am nervous so let’s do this” it is best to get it done then we can just chill, also Fantasyland is at a distance where I wanted the party to be at. I didn’t even request Fantasyland, but I will take it.
Pedro is riding with us “this is why we changed time, we wanted it to be late at night. The visual will be so so much more better. Also, we wanted to give you a gift before the festivities start, the gift from us to you. Your baby first birthday party is on us” my eyes widened “awww oh my god, thank you so much” Robyn said “that is dope Pedro, thank you” shaking his hand again “good friend of mine, I have been stressing so much. I said Chris and Rihanna are spending lots of money and I want it perfect, this was all me so please I hope you like it all. Lot of your friends wanted to help” seeing sleeping beauty’ castle, it’s pretty dark around here but I can see everyone has gathered “I think I can see Trey from here” I pointed “everyone actually came out for us Chris, this is so sweet” I think every invitation that got sent out they all did come and that is love, but nobody has done this level of reveal party, this is dope as fuck already.
I am already loving this, just to see our friends and family gathered in one place, I think we invited everyone we could, every person that we are associated with and there is a lot of them “I hope you have a little nigga like you” Trey shouted, dapping him “nobody wants that now” I said shaking my head, Robyn pulled at my hand to walk “just stand here and look at the castle, I mean there is nothing to see but just look here” looking over at Ant and he is smiling at me so much “stop it, you already know. You can’t be smiling at me like this” it annoys me that he knows because I want to know already “I can’t help it, exciting times for you” shaking my head smiling at him, the firework display started, this actually looks so pretty with the effect of the castle. This is not giving me clues at all, there is only so much pink and blue but I think there was more pink than blue in these fireworks, I can’t be doing all of this working out.
The fireworks stopped eventually and I am still confused, it is so silent and I am like what the fuck “oh my god” the castle lit up in blue and then looking up as the blue confetti fell on Robyn and I, looking behind me in shock. Seeing Mickey holding up a blue bodysuit and rush over to Robyn “it’s a boy!!” Ant spat, looking at Robyn “it’s a boy” Robyn grabbed the bodysuit from Mickey and a outburst of tears “we are having a boy” she hugged me, holding Robyn feeling a little in shock because my heart was set on a girl but it’s a boy. Hugging Robyn even more “shit, we really having a baby boy” I don’t know what to say, see Robyn didn’t care but I kind of did. Robyn moved back “I am so happy for you” I am so lost “you’re having a boy, a young prince Chris. Look at your face” Ant hugged me “I am so happy for you” I need to look like I am not so lost because I am.
I have had an hour or two to digest the fact I am having a son, I think I am ok. I was just in shock, I really thought I was going to have a girl. Robyn really cried, I don’t know where she is at because there is too many people to work through “Chris is going to have another young prince to take the crown my nigga, I am happy for you” Diddy said hugging me “welcome to fatherhood, young kings to show the way. Nothing better than a son to take your crown” nodding my head smiling “I ain’t going to front, I wanted a girl” I admitted “my nigga, girls give you heart pains. I don’t mean bad heart pains but those pains of don’t grow, you got to watch those little niggas because that is your princess but the love they give you, it’s the most precious” I wanted that love but that’s my son, I will get used to the idea but I didn’t expect Robyn to be that emotional and cry so much.
Walking into the hall, I am a little late because I was on the rides. Noella waved me over “excuse me” walking by my friends “congratulations son” my dad said holding my arm, I looked at him but continued to walk “took your time” Noella said, seeing the mountain of gifts that we said not to bring “shit, why” I said with my eyes bulged out “you ok now?” I said to Robyn, she looks tired “I am overjoyed, so happy!” kissing Robyn’ lips “you need to thank them, I didn’t want to say anything so you can” this is why she dragged me back “alright, where is the mic?” I said to Pedro “nephew, I been looking all over for you. I am so happy for you” Snoop said “appreciate it” dapping Snoop “you need to show him how not to be light skinned, just bring him to uncle Snoop and I will show him the right way” busting out laughing “you know he already got light skinned antics” Pedro passed me the mic “thank you bro” this has been a shock for me “can I have y’all attention please” I said down the mic, grabbing Robyn’ hand and pulling her to me “Robyn and I just want to say thank you, if we didn’t get to see you or say thank you then we will work through the gifts and personally say thank you. We didn’t expect anything but everyone went all out, the baby is already blessed with everyone in this room being in his life” I chuckled “I won’t front, I am still a little shocked but blessed still. We are both very excited about what is to come next so thank you” seeing Ant walking towards us.
What is he even doing, Ant took the mic from me “I got you both something, it’s in with the gifts but I wanted to make sure Chris got this. I knew about it being a boy for a while, I got this made for young Brown” Ant opened the case “no way, what?” I said seeing the gold Black Pyramid chain with diamonds “I can’t take this, why did you get it? That is crazy” it’s so tiny too “I want him to have it, but I got more things. I am so happy for you both and Chris, I know you wanted a girl but believe me, you will have so much fun with a son. I want to see matching outfits and shit” Ant touched my shoulder, taking the box from him “thank you so much Ant, that is the sweetest thing. You have really had Chris’ back” Robyn said “his heart is always in the right place and another thing, turn around” Ant pointed, turning around seeing the screen “the Fenty-Brown Puma clothing line releases tomorrow and the billboard is already done, worldwide baby. Robyn couldn’t be on it but they get it. The hype is real and I am so proud of you both, making a name for yourselves. But I have another thing, you know the hype is real when this baby already getting a deal. Puma is already offering a deal on a clothing line, that is something I will leave with the parents but congratulations” my son ain’t even born and is getting deals, what is even this.
I am actually very happy about the outcome, I am having a son “oh shit, Tim. You came out!” I forgot all about this “come on over” how can I miss this random white man, posh old guy from London “Tim is here?” Robyn said ever so confused “I invited him, we spoke business didn’t we?” placing my arm around Tim “I told Tim how sorry we are about what happened, and I been working. This is what I meant Robyn, come on Tim tell her” Tim laughed “I want to work with you Robyn, Fenty-Brown? I am happy to do something with you, I do believe we will make so much money. I have the contacts, you have the brains and we have Chris here with the support. I love his ideas and I am in” Robyn stared at me all wide eyed “this is what I am telling you babe” Robyn hugged me so tight “thank you so much, oh my god” Tim smiled at me “I am so speechless, I didn’t think I would be able to get back in the make-up line industry” I get things done for my woman.
Everything went as planned, I am so over the moon with everything “come on, I wasn’t going to come here and not perform for my homie” seeing Diddy take stage “oh shit” I said smiling “oh snap, Ginuwine. I am out here” Leandra pushed passed me, her ugly ass “after you” I gestured to Robyn, I am feeling a little tipsy so I am hoping for freaky time tonight “this my song though” bopping my head “What I need, is a pretty woman next to me” I sang placing my arm around Robyn “to share the dreams that I believe, maybe we could start a family. Someone who truly understands, how to treat a man. This is what I need” pecking Robyn’ lips “you got it though” Robyn wiped my lips “I am still searching” I said furrowing my eyes “stop playing” she hit my chest “I am blessed to have you Robyn, I feel fulfilled. I made your dreams come true, making you a mother, a wife, a business woman again. We good, we don’t need anyone” I don’t know how but I did it “I am blessed to have you honestly” warms my heart to hear this.
“We going now right? We need to finish this party in the club” Lo gestured, I don’t need the club cause my ass is already a little drunk. Blowing the smoke out from the blunt “Robyn” where did she even come from “why are you acting so surprised? You are stood at the door, let’s go” Lo eyeballed me “but they are going to the club” Robyn looked at me dumbfounded “so?” I don’t know what to say now “and you have a bed with a wife in it naked, what you going to do about it?” she said walking off, looking at my boys “he’s gone, nigga! You weak!!!” Lo spat “she going to be naked, I am out. Pussy over y’all, bye” let me follow Robyn “look at his ass, he is so whipped. That invisible ass leash she got attached to you” hearing Sinko shout “try having a pussy then nigga!!” Robyn shouted back, I am about to have sex so fuck them and fuck everything else “you really giving me sex yeah?” I need to make sure “if you let me wear heels and be sexy then yes” raising my arms up in the air “I am going to get sex!!” I shouted out, Robyn hit my chest “stop it, oh my god” I chuckled placing my arms down “I love you, I am happy we having a boy. You cried a lot though” I asked, holding Robyn’ hand “I am so happy to have a baby that I didn’t care but then I just imagined having a baby you and I was saying to myself I hope I have a boy and it came true, I feel like he will be just like you already. He is having a party in my stomach at every moment” a mini me, that is something the world doesn’t need.

Reflections in Canon
So I was YouTubing and found an Olicity scenes vid that happened to perfectly capture a screen grab of what Felicity was looking at when Oliver came into her office and surprised her in season one.
It was a list of all of the Hood’s targets up to that point meaning that Felicity DEFINITELY and IN CANON knew Oliver was the Hood before he revealed himself.
I know that’s not exactly a revelation since she told Barry she knew he was the Hood long before he wound up in the backseat of her car but this was early, very early, into their association and she was obviously nervous around him when he walked into her office so, to me, that says she was on the fence about continuing to help him. Still, she did it. She kept helping him even though she had made a list of all the names of the people he killed and connected them directly to information she had provided to him.
Maybe it’s five years too late for this revelation, I get that, and maybe it doesn’t matter anymore, but I’ve never been able to ‘catch’ that flash of her computer screen until now and, while I always suspected that’s what she was doing, this is confirmation.
I just find it absolutely fascinating because that one little scene is well known and quoted constantly but not a big deal to most people, and rarely, if ever, have I seen any stories that specifically point out that she was compiling a list of names connecting the Hood to Oliver.
It kind of flips that whole scene for me a little. Think about it, put yourself in Felicity’s shoes and think about it:
She’s in her office which is basically the server room. The impression we’re given from the dim lighting is that it’s after hours and the IT department is empty except for her. She’s working late, which isn’t all that unusual for her, but she’s not there doing work. Instead she’s busy solving the puzzle of Oliver Queen and trying to figure out just how far she’s willing to go to help him with his quest.
She suspects he’s the Hood, she’d be an idiot if she didn’t, but she needs proof so she begins making up the list and comparing those names to everything she’s helped him with. When she’s done she stares gaping at it and realizes, ‘This is it; Oliver Queen is the Hood!’
Her mind then begins to trip over all the possibilities. If she continues to help him then she could go to prison for aiding and abetting a murderer. No one is ever going to believe she bought his bullet-ridden laptop story or the fact that he brought her a sports drink in a syringe. They’re going to say she knowingly helped the vigilante pick off his victims.
On the other hand, these were bad guys, men who existed beyond the reach of the law, and the hacktivist in her has a lot of sympathy for his mission. She’s scared but she wants to help him.
The problem is that Oliver has never explicitly told her he was the Hood. He hasn’t really tried to hide it though and that has her even more worried for some reason.
Think about it; he’s pretty much flaunted the fact that he’s the Hood with his baldfaced lies and ‘wink-wink, nudge-nudge’ deadpan delivery. It’s like he wants her to come out and ask, ‘Are you the Hood?’
Why though? Why does he trust her to help him? Why does he keep coming back to her?
Does he know about her past with Cooper and Brother Eye? Is that why he trusts her; because he sees her as a fellow vigilante or as a person who doesn’t mind dealing in shades of gray? Or is it because he doesn’t see her as a threat for another, more sinister reason?
Just as she’s trying to decide, Oliver slips in and startles her. She quickly darkens the screen so he can’t see then helps him out all while trying (and failing) to play it cool. After he leaves she sits there in a daze and wonders why she didn’t say something to him about it.
Is she scared of his reaction?
Does she think he’ll decide she’s expendable and kill her?
No.
No, she’s not afraid of Oliver Queen. For some reason she trusts him and knows, deep down, that he won’t hurt her.
This small little scene is probably the most important Felicity moment on the entire show because that was the moment she committed herself to Team Arrow.
The moment I’m referencing is at 6:38 and the list of names are Paul Jordan, Albert Davis, Adam Hunt, David Drayson, a name that’s obscured but it’s either Rocher or Brocher. It might be a misspelling of Isabel Rochev but how she’d know about her so early is another mystery. Other names are  Grant Schulner,  Eileen Niederhauser,  Jason Brodeur,  Danny Brickwell, Sean Sony, and  Hannibal Bates.
youtube
Now, according to the Arrow wiki, this is a list of all the people we know are on Oliver’s list, both that he’s actually dealt with and those that are just names:
Known individuals on "The List"
Harold Backman Guillermo Barrera (deceased) Hannibal Bates (deceased) Frank Bertinelli (deceased) Daniel Brickwell (incarcerated) Jason Brodeur (incarcerated) Justin Claybourne (deceased) Monty Cora Joseph Cray Ted Daniels (deceased) Ted Gaynor (deceased) James Holder (deceased) Adam Hunt (deceased) Doug Miller Leo Mueller (deceased) Scott Morgan (deceased) John Nickel (deceased) Warren Patel (incarcerated) Edward Rasmus (deceased) Nelson Ravich (deceased) Marcus Redmond Isabel Rochev (deceased) Martin Somers (incarcerated) Cyrus Vanch (incarcerated) Anthony Venza (incarcerated) Justin Whicker (deceased) Ken Williams Hideo Yamane (deceased)
Names only The names below have only been seen on "The List", and have not appeared in the show.
Justin Adkisson Christine Alpert Wes Anselm (deceased) Laura Bauer Sachi Beech Lester Buchinsky Palmer Cokes Joseph Corng Brandon Costalis Charles Davenport Gregory Davenport Albert Davis John Deleon Brian J. Dickerson David Drayson Toby Greene Johnston Hall Ben Hawthorne Paul Henry Lee Heuton Gionni Iacnci Katie Johnston Paul Jordon Jeremy Koorng Andro Macoish Nick Major Harold Moore John Nelson Jamie Ontiveros Matthew Overson Steven Perry Marc Pilet Mark Porter Michael Rieber Samuel Rosenburg Ken Shane (deceased) Yasemin Soze (deceased) Blake Thompson Gary Wedlake Peter Wheeler Brandon Whicker London White Brody Wickham
Now, as you can see some of Felicity’s names don’t appear on the list Oliver has so my theory is that these are names she’s gathered from Walter’s copy that she’s investigated on her own and who she has gathered evidence on. I’m guessing that she thinks they might have something to do with Walter’s disappearance or that they could be next on the Hood’s hit list.
Why no one has written a story exploring that yet I’ll never know.
