child of mine:
it's grace's birthday!
hugo running away :(
sam got grace a new phone which connie isn't happy about
grace hasn't been taking her epilepsy medication and refuses to take it so connie says she has to come into work so she can keep an eye on her??? because we all know connie always does a great job of keeping an eye on grace in the ED...
david's back!
alicia's walking in behind connie, sam, and grace and cal and ethan walk up behind her and cal goes "i wonder how grace feels about her new step mum? do you think you're gonna all go on holiday together maybe? what's it called, blended family?" while ethan seems to be avoiding looking at her. cal mate leave her alone!!
of course connie immediately tells noel to watch grace. when she says she's going to watch her she never actually means she's going to do it herself does she. she also says she can have her new phone once she's done her physio exercises?? girl it's her birthday give her a break!
oop sam just shared my sentiment. "she needs rest days, she needs time for her muscles to recover" "right so suddenly now you're an expert in physio?" "she's doing too much" "how would you know, you're not with her everyday?" "neither are you." OUCH SSJDJDFF i do not like him but unfortunately he seems to be the voice of reason when it comes to grace
elle and dylan see sam with grace and elle's like "you'd think he'd have more things to worry about than just hounding us" RIGHT??
oop elle says "connie still thinks she's safe" and dylan goes "what on her salary? i'd say she's the biggest prey" that's a good point actually. and if connie lost her job she'd have a lot more time to spend with grace. but i doubt sam wants that cause then it would be even harder for him to get a look in
so if david wasn't really ready to come back to work after years off, how is he ready to be back after a few weeks?
charlotte's been discharged
oh molly drover! she's asking for zoe😬
louise booked a table for her and jez at some fancy restaurant but he can't afford it
connie gives grace a cupcake as a peace offering, apologises and lets her have her new phone... could've been fine if she hadn't hidden her meds in the icing to trick her into taking them
david saying he knows what it's like to want everything to just stop and how much harder it is to get up and try again :((
aand grace has discovered the pill :/
grace goes "you tried to drug me" and connie's trying to defend herself but then realises that she spoke and realises that sam isn't surprised and grace is like "i've always been able to talk. i just didn't want to talk to you because i hate you." and connie goes "well you know what sweetheart, the feeling is mutual." umm wtf :/// and then grace has a seizure
david tries to apologise to robyn but max gets protective of her. poor david :(
connie tells sam he should take grace for a while
connie telling hugo's dad "he's clearly very upset. he just needs a little bit of love, and a little bit of support." you might want to try taking your own advice connie. and by that i mean with grace not hugo! do NOT take on someone else's child because you're finding your own a bit too difficult!!
charlotte is managing to make a lot of noise without moving at all. not even her mouth lol quite a realistic looking doll i'll give em that
ah mo effanga?
lmaoo jez doesn't want to tell louise he can't afford the restaurant so he tells her he's getting an early night and she goes to alicia upset and alicia's like "come on, let's drink gin and talk about how rubbish men are" and then immediately turns to ethan who just happens to be passing and invites him to the pub with them man she is DOWN BAD😭😭😭😭 it's odd that louise seems to have no reaction to this whatsoever though?? surely she would be wondering what the hell alicia's doing inviting a man to their complaining about men session? maybe alicia just knew that ethan was gonna decline so she did it to get herself in the mood for the complaining about men shjsjddjk
connie agreeing to take hugo for a few days??? wow it's a good job you got grace out the way so you can spend all your time with someone else's child isn't it
aww robyn letting david hold charlotte🥺 and jacob not accepting his resignation :)
one episode to go...

Every time I see someone say that Negan’s redemption arc is “forced” because it’s “nothing but him saving women and kids” I have to wonder if they’ve been paying any attention at all.
1. He sat and suffered in a cell for nearly eight years (to compare, he was only a leader for about a year and a half), in conditions that in the real world would be considered torture, to the point of self-destructive and suicidal tendencies. He was completely broken and had become a shell of who he was.
2. We see him developing a bond with Judith, allowing us to see another, friendlier side of him, along with more evidence of his soft spot for kids. We learn that he helps her with homework and is very honest with her when she asks questions, and was upfront with her about what he did to get himself thrown into his cell. He owns up to what he did and doesn’t act innocent.
3. We witness his trip back to the Sanctuary. We see him go back in hopes of there being something there, only to face the reality that everything he had built and everyone that was once there really was gone. We see him attempt to work out staying there himself, but ultimately returns to Alexandria. Doing this he admits not only to himself but to everyone there that he knows there’s nothing out there for him and that he’s better off in Alexandria, locked up, than out on his own. His acceptance that everything he once was is gone and there’s no getting it back.
4. The very first time he’s let out of his cell, he doesn’t hesitate to run off after Judith despite the dangerous conditions, well before anyone else bothered to. He saved both Judith and Dog’s life.
5. His “no one ever thinks that they’re the evil one” line. He’s clearly, at least in part, referring to himself and how he knows now that he was the villain and the one in the wrong back then but didn’t realize it at the time.
6. Since then he’s been allowed to start working outside his cell. This has been going on for a few months at least given the time jump, and from what we’ve seen he’s been nothing but cooperative and on good behavior, doing whatever they ask him to without complaint. It’s interesting to note that it’s all things like gardening, laundry, and trash duty, things he used to make his workers do at the Sanctuary. He’s now getting to experience what that’s like (and lbh, Alexandria’s treating him much better now than he treated his workers.) It’s likely very humbling.
7. The only time he tries to get out of something is when Gabriel makes him help with the walkers, and his reasoning was understandable. But he still does it, and saves Aaron’s life even after he had been shitty to him. He also looks after him (kept watch) while Aaron was suffering from his temporary blindness. He put Aaron’s safety and need for rest over his own.
8. He saved Lydia when she was getting beat up, and did only the necessary amount needed to defuse the situation (vs people that were saying he should have harmed/killed Gage. No, there was no reason to do anything to him once he was off of Lydia.) Yes, Margo died, but we know that was an accident.
9. Not only did he save Lydia, but he gave her someone to talk to. She felt like he understood her and as a teen getting picked on and struggling to fit in, it was important for her to have someone like that.
10. He repeatedly rejected Brandon’s fanboying. Brandon’s idolization of him and his ways as a leader forced him to see the mindset and behaviors he encouraged during his Savior days and what that looks/looked like to everyone else, and it’s made clear that he’s now disapproving and annoyed by it. He then gets rid of Brandon after he kills the mom and kid to “impress” Negan, and idk what to say if you missed the symbolism behind him killing Brandon right as he starts saying “I am Negan.”
11. Speaking of Milo and his mom, after saving them Negan was planning to help them get to Hilltop so they could live safer, better lives. He tells them not to tell anybody who sent them or how they found them, meaning he didn’t want any credit for it (and also saves them the risk of being interrogated if they knew where Negan was.) This also gives us a glimpse of Negan’s improved (?) opinion of Hilltop and the other communities.
12. Negan is now risking his life infiltrating the Whisperer camp on his own and is most likely gaining their trust in order to help Alexandria take them down.
But sure, it’s “just” him saving women and kids. Nothing else to it.

I understand and respect that you feel TO is wasted potential, but I'm honestly not sure what they could've actually shown. Given that the family faced all its major problems and broke off in TVD, I'm not surprised it was just Klaus and Elijah. Literally, Mikael, Esther, Henrik, Finn, and Kol are dead. Rebekah wanted little to do with Klaus. Freya was probably a good start but it felt sort of off. What could we have gotten for story, in your opinion? Sorry for loaded ask. I'm curious.
Did they face all of their major problems in TVD though....? Just off the top of my head what I might have done with their backstory if it were me:
1. They’ve been alive for 1000 years and we’ve seen flashbacks of Klaus/Elijah/Rebekah in three different time periods and that’s it
2. Explain how Elijah actually got to the point where he was willing to kill Klaus and follow up on that estrangement because I don’t think being mad about Katherine is a realistic explanation
3. Explain how Esther met Ayanna, how she got the immortality spell out of Ayanna, and why and in which ways vampires are different from Silas
4. Explain if other witches have tried to make immortals in the interim between Silas and the Originals
5. How did Esther meet Mikael
6. How did Esther meet Klaus’ father
7. Did Esther know that Klaus’ father was his father from the time he was born or did she find out when his werewolf gene manifested itself like everyone else in the family did
8. What was going on between Esther and Mikael that cause an affair deadass in the middle of their relationship
9. Why didn’t Esther teach magic to any of her children
10. How did they actually get to North America
11. WTF is up with the Five and why do they go after vampires if they were meant to kill Silas
12. Why were the Five in Europe when vampires originated in North America and Silas was also in North America
13. What exactly happened with Tatia
14. How did Tatia’s familial line go from Virginia to Bulgaria
15. Why was a descendant of Qetsiyah in the same random ass place as Amara’s doppelganger and obviously that can’t be a coincidence so the fuck
16. How did Qetsiyah find Tatia or Esther and how did she wind up in Virginia with a bunch of Scandinavians
17. How did the Mikaelson siblings even discover the existence of doppelgangers and how did they find Katherine/why did they know they needed her to break Klaus’ hybrid curse
18. How did Klaus know how to break the curse in general
19. How did Klaus acquire the apparent squad of supernaturals he built over his lifetime
20. Why was Kol so interested in witches, why was Kol separated from the family for so long, what was he doing in the east, why did Klaus dagger him, what would he be capable of that would make Klaus afraid of him
21. How did Mikael become a vampire hunter, what was his experience with that, why did he and/or Esther decide to make the white oak stake when they were so desperate to keep their children alive, why did they make only one stake, how did Mikael eventually get taken down and entombed like we see when he’s first introduced, how did Mikael nearly extinguish the entire werewolf race
22. Maybe give an actual backstory to their first born child and not make her a sad prego Rebekah replacement
23. Show Klaus’ experience living through the hunter’s curse and show how tf Rebekah and Elijah managed a constantly suicidal immortal for half a century
24. Explain what exactly Finn did that made the rest of the siblings cool with living him daggered for almost a thousand years
25. Explain how tf Klaus has been carting around Esther’s body for so long, why Elijah and Rebekah didn’t seem to be aware of this, what made him decide to take her or to go back and retrieve her body
26. Show why Sage is apparently the only vampire Finn ever sired
27. Show whether or not the rest of the Mikaelsons would just be like oh well whatevs after two of their brothers have died and they clearly have the ability to bring them back
28. And there seems to be a really obvious way to incorporate that with the ancestral witches who have a bunch of witch spirits trapped in NOLA if that’s what the writers wanted to go for
29. Show how the eff they figured out that they could make more vampires, show why exactly Klaus thought he could make hybrids out of werewolves when it had never been done, show how they figured out that vampire blood heals people, etc.
30. Explain how they discovered the humanity “switch”
So I could go on but I’m gonna stop there, because I think that pretty clearly demonstrates that there were enough plot threads to make a show out of TO that didn’t involve Hayley and her fabulous unicorn womb and the hot potato unicorn baby.
