I like to think that Negan was one of the people that visited Rosita to say goodbye before she passed away, even if just to lean in the doorway and say a few words. She essentially got Andrea’s comic book death, and in the comics while Andrea’s sick in bed, Negan’s among the people shown to stop by:
“They weren’t going to let me see you. You were a badass, and you were hot as fuck. I’d have been honored for you to be the one to kill me.”
His words to Andrea fit perfectly being said Rosita, too. She literally tried to kill him on the show, and he even calls her a badass afterwards (after, y’know, freaking out over the bullet hitting Lucille.)
It’s also such a shame they never got a proper scene together to acknowledge Abe, or Spencer, or how anything during the Savior era affected her. We never got more than a couple sentences spread out across three seasons.
So yeah, it’s my headcanon that this happened.

3. how long is my muse’s turn-around time? || 13. does my muse find any non-sexual parts of a partner’s body sexually appealing?  ( ie. hands, abs, etc ) || 14. are there any non-sexual actions that turn my muse on?  ( ie. watching someone perform manual labor )
Spicy Headcanon Questions | Not Accepting | @mercyprevaild
When he was younger, Negan only really needed a couple minutes before being ready to go again, if that. As he’s gotten older, he typically only has it in him for one or two rounds in a session and needs a second to catch his breath (though has no problem continuing to pleasure his partner in other ways in the meantime.) On nights when he’s out after the first one, he’ll be ready again by morning.
Negan can find just about any body part sexually appealing depending on the partner. Notable ones though are hands, legs (particularly on women), arms/biceps (particularly on men), the back, and, sometimes... feet. Sometimes.
Watching someone perform manual labor can definitely be a turn on for him, as can watching someone cook for him. In the zombie apocalypse, witnessing someone slaughter walkers and be a badass can get him going in a certain way, too. If his partner has kids, seeing them be a good, loving parent towards them is extremely attractive to him as well. This is obviously not going to turn him on in the moment because that’d be inappropriate, but it will give him that warm fuzzy feeling and desire to be intimate once they’re alone.

Shipping Questions for the Mun - NSFW Edition | Accepting | @merlexxdixon
28. is your muse someone who like to initiate? are they a tease? would they rather wait for their partner?
Negan absolutely likes to initiate, and most times does. He’s definitely a tease, it’s in his nature, he loves to flirt and tease his partner in hopes of getting them in the mood-- he’s also just playful in that way in the bedroom. But he certainly enjoys his partner initiating things as well; he thinks it’s hot when they make the first move.
29. how would your muse react to someone teasing them?
Assuming it’s someone he’s attracted to or otherwise potentially interested in, he wouldn’t mind. He enjoys playful and suggestive teasing, might even give them a little in return. In bed he likes it as well, however sometimes he can get impatient if they drag it out for too long.
If it’s someone he has no interest in and they continue to tease after there’s been no reciprocation, particularly if he’s voiced his disinterest, Negan will get annoyed or irritated, which is somewhat ironic given his tendency to go over the line himself with that sort of thing sometimes (though he typically stops once he knows he’s gone too far.)
31. how does your muse handle bad sex?
In a relationship, he’ll talk about it. He’s not afraid to bring up things he didn’t like and would rather his partner be upfront with him about it too so if something didn’t work, they both know better for next time. However sexual compatibility is very important to him and if it turns out that he’s not compatible with someone for whatever reason, if the sex is bad and there’s no improving it, the relationship ultimately won’t work. If was casual or a one-night stand anyway, he probably won’t care much. He likely just won’t sleep with them again.

Sinday Meme | Selectively Accepting | @sacrificesmade
These were both answered here and here! To elaborate a little more on his “sexiest feature,” though:
Negan really does think his best feature is his smile. He talks big about his dick, sure, but that’s mostly an overcompensation for his insecurity (as I’m sure many have guessed.) But Lucille always told him he had a handsome face and a nice smile, and he holds onto that. Always knew how to make a man blush, that one. If he had to pick another physical feature aside from that, he’d probably say his broad back and shoulders.
He says sense of humor, too, because he’s always believed that being funny will get him laid more than just being nice. It’s had varying results over the years but he sticks to it anyway.

Give us a random song lyric you think relates to your muse 15. This one isn’t a question. I just want to show my love <3

Excluding music, my favorite sound to write to would probably be rain, or a gentle thunderstorm. Though during the summer, I also really like having the windows open and hearing the birds chirping and kids playing and people doing yard work and whatnot. It’s a very nostalgic set of sounds for me.
I honestly have no idea what Negan and I would do if we had to spend a day together, we’re just so different and I’m not an exciting or adventurous person. He can kick my ass at some video games or teach me how to cook something I guess lol.
My favorite constellations are the Big and Little Dippers or Orion’s Belt. Because those are the only ones I can actually point out in the sky and I don’t know the names of many others.
Random headcanon: Negan got into a confrontation with a father on school grounds after he witnessed the man hit his kid, one of his students. He only intended to tell him off, but the parent escalated it into a physical altercation. Negan was forced to take a brief leave of absence while things were investigated, but was ultimately able to keep his job. He’s an asshole, but his heart’s usually in the right place when it really matters. He doesn’t tolerate people hitting their kids.
Since I was listening to it on my way home from work yesterday, here’s lyrics from Blaqk Audio’s Graphic Violence that give me certain Savior Negan vibes: No more conversation / I know who you are / Let's take this no further / Or I may go so far / As to keep you from leaving / I would like to see / You begging, barely breathing / Bleeding on your knees
And thank you, you’re awesome! <3

☮ Position Preferences
☯ Kinks
♣ One thing they’ve never told
♡ What they do after sex
♕ What is their mood-killer

Headcanons: Sex Life Edition | Not Accepting | @wexarethewalkingxdead
Negan most prefers anything that allows him to see his partner’s face, honestly the missionary position and variations of it work perfectly well for him. However he also really likes doggy style.
He doesn’t need a lot of kinky stuff in the bedroom to get off, but he can certainly enjoy it. Some of his favorites include dirty talk, mild pain (biting, spanking, hair pulling, etc.), watching/being watched by his partner, oral, being restrained/restraining, teasing and light humiliation, and praise.
One thing he’s never told anyone, related to sex? He has a few fantasies that he’s never outright told anyone about, but besides that I’m not sure! He has very little shame when it comes to this topic.
What he does after sex depends on who he’s having sex with. If it’s a long-term partner and someone he has feelings for, he likes offering aftercare, cleaning up, cuddling, and so on. If it’s a quickie or with someone casual there might not be time for that, or he may not put in as much care. But he does try to clean up and tidy up, at the very least.
His main mood-killers are 1. his partner not seeming enthusiastic, just laying there, etc., and 2. his size being made fun of. That’s not the kind of humiliation he enjoys, and he definitely can’t enjoy himself if his partner doesn’t seem to be into it and isn’t actively participating. All that’ll do is hurt his ego.

💤 - In which position would they like to sleep in with their partner afterwards? And what position are they likely to end up in instead?
NSFW Headcanons | Accepting | @mercyprevaild
Negan’s favorite position to sleep in with his partner would probably be where he’s lying on his back, and his partner’s snuggled up to his side, their head on his chest-- or vice versa, in the case where he feels like being the one that’s doing the snuggling. But ultimately he likes any position where they’re close and holding each other. However, there’s plenty of times where they might just end up falling asleep side by side, on their backs or facing each other, and that’s fine. That might also be more likely when it comes to hook-ups and one-night stands, when he’s not particularly attached to the person he’s sleeping with.

{{ 1, 3, and 4 for the villainous questions meme}}
Questions About Villainous Muses | Accepting | @saviorxxsimon (and @wexarethewalkingxdead, who also asked these questions)
1. What would it have taken to prevent your muse from becoming a villain?
Lucille not being sick and passing away would’ve helped, for sure. Besides that, I think a big reason he was able to more easily become a villain is because he had no one but himself to care about in the apocalypse. Every person he met early on died, and by the time he met a group that could survive, a lot of the damage had been done, and he was pushed over the edge when another group threatened them. While he’d be a very morally grey person no matter what, I think if he had his wife with him and/or had been able to find and form a tight-knit group early on like Rick did, one that he could bond with and find support in, he may have avoided going full villain.
3. When was the last time your muse cried for someone else’s sake?
When he held Lydia, after killing Alpha. Maybe he wasn’t fully crying, but there were tears in his eyes when he hugged her, because while killing Alpha was necessary, he feels guilt for taking a girl’s mother away from her, and hated seeing her in pain.
4. Are there any ethical/moral lines your muse will not cross?
He doesn’t kill for pleasure. Negan might say he enjoys killing but he only kills, tortures, etc. when he has reason to do so (of course his “reasoning” may be a little questionable, but still, they are legitimate in his mind.) He’s not okay with killing pregnant women, either. He will never force himself onto someone, and kills those that do. He also doesn’t believe in killing kids and does all he can to avoid this-- though, at least during his Savior era, we do see him supposedly pushed to a point of desperation where he seemed willing to break that part of his code. Though I believe he would’ve regretted it/felt bad about it afterwards had he succeeded.

There’s going to be spoilers for the Here’s Negan episode in this post. I’m not tagging it twd spoilers bc I don’t want this coming up in search. This is your warning! (I’m hoping writing “twd spoilers” here will be enough for blacklists to pick it up.)
I’m thinking of what I want to take from the episode and include in my portrayal. I will be sticking to Negan’s original comic book backstory. As much as I enjoyed the episode, my portrayal has been built upon his comic backstory for over three years now, and the way things were changed in the show make it impossible for both versions to exist together. However, there are little things I’ll take from it. Here are some things I’m adapting into my portrayal in some way:
Smith. Yes, Negan is now officially Negan Smith. No, your characters don’t get to know this information until he personally tells them (it’s fine if they do in banter/crack RPs, just not serious threads.)
“You Are So Beautiful” being Negan and Lucille’s song.
Negan being a gamer. Not heavily, but I always imagined him dabbling in it.
Negan having reading glasses. But can usually manage without them, hence why we never see him wearing them anywhere else. Could probably use a pair in the current season as his vision gets worse with age.
Negan getting into a fight with that man at the bar. HOWEVER, my Negan did not beat him badly enough to be sent to the hospital. He does not get fired, sued, or get charged. They were just two idiots that got into a fight over something stupid. Negan is still a gym teacher when the outbreak hits. He does however have a past of getting fired from previous jobs.
Negan’s more caring, loving side while taking care of Lucille. While she passed away at the very start of the outbreak on this blog, a lot of the sweeter moments we see of them in the episode will instead be moments they had together pre-apocalypse after Negan left his mistress and began focusing on her again.
Negan using his basement as a bunker and staying there in the early days of the outbreak. Only the first 3-4 weeks. Eventually realizes he needs to move, and continuing to stay there just brings back painful memories after losing Lucille. He burns the house down before leaving as a way to put it behind him, and keep himself from being tempted to return.
Laura (and Franklin) being one of the early Saviors. I’m not sure how to fit this in yet, since for my Negan it’s still Dwight’s group that takes him in. Maybe Negan encounters them, they offer some medical/first aid supplies but he doesn’t stay with them bc he’s grown tired of losing people. Maybe their group of doctors falls apart and they turn up again later as part of the group Negan welcomes in (the one whose leader he kills.) I dunno! But Laura is with the group before they reach the Sanctuary.
The leather jacket being a “gift” from Lucille. I’m still debating this, but I like that it gives the jacket some meaning. Maybe it’ll be an actual gift and not something Negan technically bought.
Things I am NOT incorporating:
Lucille surviving months into the apocalypse. I am open to RPing show canon with Lucille blogs! But otherwise I’m sticking to comic canon. Negan being alone from the start is an important part of his story.
Negan lying to get out of driving Lucille to the doctors. I’m keeping comic canon where she collapses and is brought to the hospital. He is with her when she gets her diagnosis.
Laura giving him the bat. I love this idea for the show! It just doesn’t fit in with what I have established on this blog.
As mentioned, he doesn’t get fired from his teaching job.
He doesn’t cheat on Lucille with Janine, nor does he keep it secret. Lucille knows and Negan tells her once it’s over. Still debating this but it’s just some mistress in comic canon and idk if I want to switch it to being Lucille’s friend.
Craven’s group being Negan’s first Lucille victims. I’ll still have them be a group he encounters at some point (minus the held captive aspect), but his first victim is still the leader of the group he encounters in the comics, since there’s a lot more meaning behind it imo.
So... yup. I’m still thinking about some things but this is what I got for now.

Negan most definitely would benefit from very intensive therapy.
Send Me Your Assumptions About My Muse and I’ll respond with “Correct,” “Nope,” or “Kinda” | Accepting | @wexarethewalkingxdead
100% correct. I mean, I think it's safe to say every character in twd would benefit from therapy, but yes Negan especially. Not only has he been through a lot of heavy, traumatic things since the outbreak started (even before that, actually), but he's never had any sort of support group. Unlike others who have friends and family (blood, found, or otherwise) to lean on, Negan never had anything like that in the apocalypse, even before he became the horrible man he's most known as. He's, for the most part, kept everything locked inside, and not only that but suppresses it instead of allowing himself to grieve or process what he's been through. It's incredibly unhealthy. He has a lot of issues and I mean it sincerely when I say he needs help.
I think this would still be true even if the outbreak never happened. In a situation where there was no outbreak but Lucille still passed away for example. I unfortunately think Negan would hesitate to seek help or therapy, would probably think he can or is supposed to deal with the loss on his own, that it'd make him weak to admit he needs help. Which isn't true of course, but that's probably how he'd see it. He has a lot of trouble with being vulnerable around others.

(from betaofthedead) 2. What is your muse’s kill count? // 5. What is your muse’s biggest regret? // 10. Does your muse have nightmares? What about?
Angsty Character Questions | Accepting | @betaofthedead
If you’re asking how many people Negan’s killed directly with his own hands, the number’s probably around 30-40. If you include deaths that were directly or indirectly caused by him, his rules, or his orders during the war, the count is much higher. Negan remembers a lot of the people he’s killed but if he’s honest, there’s some that are blurs to him. The deaths he’s caused bother him more now, namely the ones that looking back he thinks may not have needed to happen, but he remains so detached from most people that unless they’re innocent, he can kill if he needs to without hesitating or feeling bad about it. It’s just survival to him, the way the world is now.
Negan’s biggest regret is not treating Lucille better, and not being a better husband. Even after all the other atrocities he’s committed since then, at the end of the day his biggest regret will always be that: not treating the only person he loved, and likely the only person he will ever love, the way she deserved to be. Following that however, over the years since the war, he has gradually begun to feel remorse, some guilt for all the damage he did during his reign as leader. It’s a complicated thing though, because while he recognizes most of what he did as wrong, due to circumstances he still feels it was necessary at the time.
He does have nightmares. How often fluctuates, though he by far has them most often during his years in his cell. There’s a few reoccurring images and themes in them. He often relives his wife’s illness and death: where one minute she’s fine, and they’re happy, and the next she’s turning frail and falling apart in his arms; or where her reanimated corpse is on the hospital floor, grasping and clawing at his legs, clinging to his ankles, asking in garbled growling tones why he left her, why he did this to her. Sometimes part of her skull is bashed in and bloody.
Sometimes he relives his most gruesome moments as a leader, sometimes he has nightmares where they do to him what he did to them. Sometimes he has nightmares of being trapped in his cell, that darkness, dread and anxiety as the window vanishes and the room shrinks around him, trapping him, suffocating him. There’s nightmares where he’s left behind, where they all turn their backs on him, where no one glances back as he pleads for help as he’s devoured by walkers. There’s nightmares where he’s isolated, completely and utterly alone, forever.

(from betaofthedead) 6 and 8 for the villain meme question!
Questions About Villainous Muses | Not Accepting | @betaofthedead
6. If questioned about their evil behavior, what excuse would your muse give to justify it?
Negan would say he’s only doing what needs to be done, and that there’s no other way. He doesn’t kill, torture, etc. unless he has a reason to, even if others disagree that his reasons warrant such extreme actions. Everything he does, in his eyes, is done to maintain control and keep people alive. He believes he knows how to survive and keep civilization going better than anyone, and he justifies it all through that view.
8. If your muse could feel the emotional pain of the people they hurt, would this deter their villainous behavior?
It would at the very least make it more difficult. Being numb to and repressing most emotions is what makes Negan’s more cruel, villainous acts so easy for him; he doesn’t feel the guilt, isn’t empathetic towards the people he hurts and any sympathy he expresses is often very surface level (such as acknowledging how hard it must be for the group to watch Glenn die, before gleefully “getting back to it.”) It’s not to say he doesn’t have his moments -- his apologies to people like Carl and Olivia are genuine, for example -- but when it comes to his villainous acts, that’s his whole thing: he can’t feel, and so can do whatever he deems necessary to survive without feeling bad about it. He even calls it his strength at one point.
If he didn’t have that, and had to endure the pain of all those he hurt? It’d become more difficult for him. We even see some evidence of this as he’s apologizing to Maggie for killing Glenn; that after having time to think about what he’s done, he’s able to connect with her through his own grief. He understands the pain of losing a spouse, and is able to use that to relate to her pain and what he’s put her through.

I’ve been reading a lot about the effects of solitary confinement, and this article here is the first that gave a nice easy bullet point list of side-effects to look at, and got me thinking about which ones Negan’s been most affected by.
This is a very lazy post, but I’m just going to copy + paste everything from the lists in the article that I feel Negan’s dealt with at some point while in confinement. The ones in bold are things he’s still dealing with currently (as of season 10c), and anything in italics only somewhat still applies. Everything else are side-effects he primarily dealt with prior to season 9b, aka before he started being allowed things to do and being allowed to work outside.
Anxiety and stress. Depression. Hopelessness. Anger, irritability, and hostility. Panic attacks. Worsened preexisting mental health issues. Problems with attention, concentration, and memory. Hallucinations. Self-harm and suicide (attempt). Chronic headaches. Fatigue and lethargy. Heart palpitations. Hypersensitivity to light and noise. Loss of appetite. Muscle and joint pain. Sleep problems. Trembling hands. Weight loss.

Send me a ★ for an IC fact or send me a ☆ for an OOC fact. | Not Accepting | @mercyprevaild
In character:
1. Negan used to do crossword puzzles with Lucille before bed, and she was usually better at them than he was. As a Savior, he keeps a few crossword books in his room at the Sanctuary to do while he’s lounging in bed alone. Sometimes when he’s stuck, he’ll talk out loud to the baseball bat at his side. Sometimes that helps him figure it out.
2. Negan as a gym teacher can be a bit of a hardass; he expects everyone to participate, isn’t afraid to call students out when they’re slacking off, and is guilty of pushing them a bit too hard sometimes. Some love him, some hate him, and it definitely takes time to warm up to him. But he also genuinely wants them to have fun, and occasionally participates in playing sports with them instead of always watching from the sidelines. He’s capable of sincere pep talks when it matters and even though he’s known as an asshole, he’s also a teacher that students know they can go to about problems without being judged.
3. Negan has a history of struggling to hold down a job, especially in his younger years, and has been fired from and quit multiple jobs. He finally found success with his teaching job after getting his degree, which is why Lucille’s particularly exasperated by the thought of him getting fired from that one as well. However unlike the show my portrayal follows the comics, in which he successfully holds onto it, albeit with a few slip ups.
Out of character:
1. I love going to zoos and aquariums. Prior to covid I’d go to the zoo at least once or twice a year, and there’s aquariums I’ve been to that I wish were closer because I could easily stay there all day.
2. I never learned how to ride a bike. My choices as a kid were to learn how to swim or how to ride a bike, and we had just gotten a pool in our backyard at the time when I was still using training wheels so I picked the former. And then I just never got around to learning how to ride a bike.
3. I once had to walk around downtown blindfolded (with a guide, who I barely knew) as part of an assignment in college. I was definitely taken through a cafe at one point and I don’t even want to know what kind of looks we were getting lol
