It had been five years since she’d left her hometown. Being back felt strange, like stepping back in time. The place held so many memories. So much heartbreak. So much laughter. This was where her parents had divorced. Where she’d broken up with her first boyfriend. Gone to prom with her best friend and had a blast. Helped him through losing his mother and depression. Where she’d fallen in love with the sad boy...and where she’d broken her own heart, and unknowingly his, when she left for an ivy league school far from home. He’d sworn he would never talk to her again. She hadn’t believed him. They always forgave each other, but he’d been true to his word.
Molly had only ventured back to the town to help her mother move. Her childhood home had been sold; a two bedroom house had been bought to replace it. After all, now that her older brother was married and out of the house and Molly lived elsewhere, it hadn’t made sense for the woman to live in such a big house. Moving wasn’t the most exciting thing in the world, but how could she say no? Her car breaking down wasn’t part of the plan. Luckily, the problem hadn’t seemed to take too long to fix. She walked into the garage, freezing as she spotted him. Words left her for a moment. The normally talkative girl was at a loss. “Oh...uh...hi.” Her lips pursed together briefly. “Um...I got a call my car was ready?”
