s2g every time I try and make a point to my boss/boss's boss it ends up being more trouble than it's worth bc they are somehow hell bent on misunderstanding me.

#we've gotten meta this time too bc my point was that I'll push myself to work extra hours to avoid having to explain myself to them #they were like okay let's go over your Timecards for the last two months and see how many extra hours you've put in bc you're burnt out #and I'm like what no that's not what I said at all #what I said was that I'll often sit at my desk until 7/8pm (1-2hrs past my contractual 8) finishing some dumb work #Bc it's either go home at a reasonable time or finish this stupid task and not risk being woefully misunderstood when I try to explain #why it didn't get done #there were weeks when I did not leave the office before sunset #I am still not over my boss threatening to throw me off my project for being behind on work when I had been out sick two days the prior week #that was the point that I decided I'd rather suffer overworking than whatever the consequences of not getting shit done we're #and they're out here preaching 'take time off when you need it' or 'communicate when you're overloaded' #and I'm just like dude I get yelled at and misunderstood every time I try and communicate those things #the only positive thing is that I don't have to sing and dance for my time off #it does just get approved and I don't really have to justify it #I've learned that the less I say about why I'm missing something or not coming in the better #ugh #I'm so fucking annoyed today #lilli liveblogs her sad existence
