Y’all are getting tunes whether you ask for them or not
1. A song that reminds you of your childhood
Orinoco Flow - Enya
One of my favorite songs as a kid. I still listen to it because I love the otherworldly feel it has to it. Plus now I associate it with Myst because the instrumentals are a lot like the Myst classic soundtrack. That matters because the Myst series is the only video game my mom plays and I have fond memories watching her play.
2. A song to sleep to
Bad Wings - The Glitch Mob
The Glitch Mob has a lot of tracks I find to be rather soothing. This one especially because it is slower than most of their other tracks. I actually found this one when I was playing my bed time Pandora radio like back in ohhhh 2014 I believe? So it works.
3. A song that your best friend loves
We’ll roll with Isa over @ aiiizawa
Pay No Mind (Feat. Passion Pit) - Madeon
Feeling is pretty mutual on how much this song rocks. It is nice, bouncy, and the song just makes you feel warm all over.
4. A song that hypes you the fuck up
Never Gonna Stop (The Red, Red Kroovy) - Rob Zombie
I will not be surprised when I get a speeding ticket due to this song. It’s just that good and I will never not go apeshit to it. I also love the bass in the intro, it sounds fucking killer in almost every car/truck I’ve been in.
5. A song you like to daydream to
Here Comes the Rain Again - Eurythmics
It’s soothing, it has a sweet vibe to it, it also has a longing feel to it. It works for almost every ship of mine, it instantly puts me in a mood. What else could I want from it?
6. A song that’s on at least 3 of your playlists
Bite Me! (Chrom Remix) - Hocico
This one was recommended to me by a very dear friend and I just love it. It’s on my personal playlist, a playlist for a friend’s character, and my general VtM playlist. It’s just a really cool song.
7. A song that you love from a genre you don’t usually like
Train, Train - Blackfoot
Rockabilly is something I want to get more into, but I really am so choosy. This was one given to me by my Dad and he was absolutely right to. The song fucking slaps.
8. A song that you liked when you where 10 that still slaps
Imaginary - Evanescence
I’ve loved Evanescence since I was a little one and I’m still right on that. Amy Lee’s voice is amazing and I still listen to her very often. This one was my favorite as a kid because on the Fallen album, you go from Tourniquet with it’s full orchestra ending and then it drops to this single violin in the intro and that rocked. I was always so excited to hear it as a kid. I also loved shouting “FLOWERS”. Didn’t really know any of the other lyrics until much later.
9. A song that makes you want to go on an adventure
Uncharted Worlds - Sam Hulick
Is it cheating to pull from a game OST? Either way, this song always makes me want to explore the galaxy. Lucky bastards in ME.
10. A song you’d want to dance with your partner to ( or future partner )
Ragtime Cat (Ft. Lilja Bloom) - Parov Stelar
I’ll take my L on this one, but I do genuinely love electro swing, I love swing dancing, and this one feels like the perfect one to dance with. It has a fun tempo and I also love the jump between new and old in this song.
11. A song to stomp around and pout to
Happy? - Mudvayne
I mean really, what else do you need beyond a passive-aggressive nu metal song to be angry to?
12. A song to listen to whilst you lie in a meadow
Wheel in the Sky - Journey
Sounds like the perfect place to contemplate, and Wheel in the Sky is the perfect song to do that with. Think about the future and fate while enjoying a good tune by Journey.
13. A song that reflects your views on love
Sparks - Faith and the Muse
Kind of my go to love song? There is a reverence and a hesitance in this song that really speaks to me. Love is scary, but it’s alive and well.
14. A song to sing to the sun
I could have been cheeky and picked The Sun by Gothminister, but I won’t
Honestly, I’m not sure how to read this, so take something that is definitely a daytime tune with Song 2 - Blur
Not a “sun” song, but I always associate it with the kind of sports I like and that as close as I can get.
15. A song you like that sounds like its on the soundtrack to an indie coming of age film
Volcanic Jig - Natalie MacMaster
Feels like the kind of light, bouncy stuff they would play in an opening scene to me.
16. A song that you like that romanticises being a teenager
Electricity - Red City Radio
At least part of it. It has a growing up with someone you like kind of feel to it and part of that would have to be being a teen. Beyond that, evidently nothing I listen to matches this either.
17. A song that makes you want to grab your friends jump up and down dancing and screaming the lyrics
Devil’s Dance Floor - Flogging Molly
Mostly because it’s just the song stuck in my head really bad, but that chorus, it sounds so fun to sing!!
18. A song that you like that the lyrics are just so beautiful they’re practically poetry
Oh I regret using Sparks already
Love You To Life - Grace Jones
Might as well be a poem really! Just take a listen and enjoy.
19. A song that you can imagine listening to in an abandoned church ( if it isn’t hozier im judging you, but whatever )
Listen to more artists
Sunday Morning - The Bolshoi
I would pick this one for a number of reasons - first off, it has a good sort of distant feeling to me that matches an abandoned place, second it has to deal with negative feelings with Christianity, which would match my mood best while standing in a church, abandoned or not.
20. A song from the soundtrack of a film that you like so much after the film finished you immediately looked for it
Warrior Falls -  Ludwig Göransson
Yes, it is a Marvel movie soundtrack, but consider - The drums in the Black Panther Soundtrack rock. Now to be honest, this is like one of the only movie soundtracks I have saved. If we went video game, then god it might have to be
Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag Main Theme - Brian Tyler
AC soundtracks in general tend to fucking rock, but this theme is so powerful every time I hear it, I’m fuckin ready to be a pirate.
21. A song for when the sun has gone down and you are feeling absolutely buck-wild with exhilaration!
Augen Auf - Oomph!
I have so many songs that work for this. This is normally when I listen to music so I have many Manic Energy Songs.
22. A song that makes you feel like you’re strolling through Ancient Greece living your best life
Very specific indeed, but perhaps Antvmnos - Eluveite ?
Tell me it wouldn’t be perfect to stroll a Greek shoreline with.
23. A song that when you listen to it you’re transported to a liminal space, time is pointless and you must sit and wallow in the void that remains
Black Car - Beach House
I listen to this song and my mind is instantly somewhere indescribable and unknowable and all I can do is listen, relax, and go through it. It’s very pleasant to me.
24. A song to listen to on a long drive when you have the really strong urge to keep driving until you find somewhere to start a new life (preferably a europian city whose language you don’t speak)
Perhaps not that exactly, but a song that makes me want to be a weary traveler seeing sights most can only dream of is Far Horizons - Jeremy Soule

What are things Ghetsis likes to do in his spare time? Does he have anything in particular that he really enjoys doing that most wouldn’t know about? (Like. Knitting or some hobby type thing like that.)
Hobbies, huh. . . .
Ghetsis is a very goal-oriented person. Back when he was Plasma Boss and all, he wasn't really one for many hobbies--he certainly enjoyed doing things in his free time now and then, but by the time he'd adopted N, he was putting most of his free time into Plasma and advancing his goals and such.
But like I said, he did enjoy things now and then!
((snip snip unless you’re on mobile in which case as always I am sorry--maybe i should start putting these into multiple posts instead of singular big ones?  lmao
Also brief mentions of I think abuse, Pokémon abuse, torture??  i don’t think there was anything else triggering in there but i’m also too lazy to reread it lmao))
Ghetsis loves to read. He most enjoys nonfiction--true crime, history, religion, culture, Pokémon, human psychology, science, world news; Ghetsis really loves just about anything that can teach him something new. He's all about doing lots and lots of research, too, and he's actually well versed in old languages, too, especially old Unovan. He made a cypher for translating(and even taught Zinzolin how to read it a bit! In fact, Zinzolin is the one who has the Old Unovan linguistic work he's done atm because he can't let go of his boyfriend's old things) But he also likes a good fiction novel--crime, historic, alternate history, adventure, thriller, horror. . .he's picky about fantasy and science fiction and romance, but he'll read them now and then too.
While he's not really that into it, he does watch a lot of TV lately. He has days where he's pretty much immobile, so something he can just lie down and watch is nice to at least keep him from just sleeping all day. His taste in TV and movies is pretty similar to his taste in books. However, he's not much of a TV person and it's more something he just kind of accepts as what he 'has to' do nowadays. Sometimes he just. Doesn't have the energy to turn pages in a book. But entertainment is always better than boredom.
In his current state, Ghetsis doesn't really do much daydreaming or quiet contemplation, because ultimately it leads to a heavy slew of negative thoughts and emotions and makes him feel terrible. But in the past, he spent much of his time thinking about the world, plotting, planning. Lately if he does anything it's daydream or dissociate but. The latter isn't really, y'know, a hobby or something he really wants to do.
Music! Is one of his highest interests!! The Harmonia family is a very musical and artistic one, so he was surrounded by music and taught to sing and play instruments since he was in diapers. He doesn't think of himself as being able to play instruments nowadays. . .even though he still played now and then when he lost most usage of his arm, so long as it obviously didn't really require both hands or a need for both could be worked around. At present he's more into listening to music than anything--and his tastes are far more variant than you'd expect, as he's able to find some enjoyment in most any genre. He's started to sing more lately, too, although since his voice is often poor, he hates to do it and have to hear how terrible he sounds. But after Bede told him not to be discouraged over it and that some practice would surely restore his voice to its former glory, he's been singing to himself a bit more in an attempt to get his vocal chords back in decent condition.
(The unexpected part of this is when you find him singing old pop songs. . . . . . . .)
Ghetsis is, despite being antisocial as far as his personality/mindset/comfort levels, actually quite outgoing and enjoys people's company and talking to them, watching them. He loves social events and crowds and being around people--although he also hates it because, well, everyone is below him and the world around them is usually disgusting. But he quite likes company, especially from interesting and intelligent people, and he's playfully flirtatious too. While he prefers to do the talking and teaching, he's not against listening if somebody catches his attention and, again, Ghetsis has an insatiable desire for knowledge. Oh and socializing doesn't always have to be positive, either! He l o v e s to harass his protags. He likes to disturb people and make them afraid and uncomfortable and upset. He'd probably be an internet troll now and then if he bothered with internet socializing.
(Also, Ghetsis fucks to survive is a hedonist. So having people around means getting laid when he wants to. And how can he say no to being attended to and having his body worshipped and pleasured? To the power that comes with controlling someone else's pleasure, making their whole body respond with a mere touch, sometimes even less?)
As of late he also quite enjoys taking walks when he can--and while he's still beginning to accept it, he has started taking his wheelchair out(though, not in the regular world, only in the magic plane he’s hiding on) if he can't do his own walking and just enjoying the world outside. He. . .misses it.
He actually is very well travelled and he loves travelling, visiting new places, learning new things in person, going on expeditions and to archaeological sites and ruins and historic places. . .! Up until BW he travelled a good amount and enjoyed the bounties and interests his the world had to offer, practical or not. He likes himself a good time and experiences. Of course it lessened when he acquired his kids, especially N. And nowadays he hardly even leaves the house, let alone the region, though with the way his magic hideaway works(rather, doesn't work) he can wind up travelling by accident simply because it isn't stable enough not to move around.
And, of course there's magic. Ghetsis habitually draws little magic circles and things here and there, little spells to store magic or discourage nightmares or encourage remembering things. If he's idly tracing something on a table that's probably why. If he's idly tracing something on a person, that's probably why--in particular, he'd 'bless' N with safety when he went outside, or put magic on him that would ideally 'lock' his mind somewhat so he wasn't influenced by the outside world and had his plans ruined. Ghetsis does rituals every now and then(there used to be some cultish stuff in Team Plasma. . .maybe. . .but rituals aren't necessarily cultish, just like regularly done things) and magical cleanses, protection for his own spaces, charging the crystals and things he has around, and practices little bits of magic here and there just so he knows he can still do it. Now and then he tries to learn or develop new magic, but he's really not in the best condition for good magic usage. It certainly doesn't stop him but, y'know, tries to keep playing with fire to a minimum lest he burn his house down.
Of course, these are mostly things he does at present. . .with the strokes and the weakness in his body and the problems with his cognition and mind in general. . .his options are lessened in his opinion. His depression and lessened will to live make it hard for him to do even those things--let alone some of the things he used to do.
Sports are among the things he'd done in the past--namely basketball(just kinda happens when you're over 6ft tall.) He gave his old ball to N to teach him to play, but back then he could still play, one arm or not. Nowadays he has trouble even sitting up let along standing, running, and he's still accepting that he needs a wheelchair now and then when he can't get around so easily himself, so wheelchair basketball isn't something he'd even consider trying. Playing basketball? Tennis? Hell, any sport? He can't even consider it. He hates watching sports now. Whereas he used to love to do so because he could watch Unovan teams VS other regions and feel proud and cheer for Unova and so on, but now he can't stand it because it makes him think of how he used to be.
One of the things he did a lot up until the end of BWB2W2, was, of course, train his Pokémon, care for them, sometimes even play with them. They needed exercise and enrichment, and keeping them in fighting and killing shape was a high priority, both for enjoyment/entertainment and for the sake of having strong Pokémon. But now his Pokémon are all gone. . .and he resents all Pokémon for it and his hostility towards them all has increased. If anything at present, he takes even greater delight in hurting Pokémon than he had in the past.
Public speaking, debating, evangelizing, convincing people of Plasma's ways, giving and writing speeches was also a hobby he enjoyed. Usually, however, he winged his speeches, simply spoke from his cunning heart. Of course, if he tried to do something like that today. . .well, someone would call interpol and it'd be a whole thing. . .he does talk to himself a even more than he used to now, but it's not the same.
Punishing and teaching Plasma's members and anyone they decided to. . .host for a while, so they could learn the truths and come to know Team Plasma's might and perspective. . .being able to torment captives, seeing the hope leave somebody's eyes, god. He misses power. He misses victims. He misses taking out his frustrations on somebody locked in his dungeons, beating them and spitting on them and showing them how above them he was, torturing them--. . .expressing his power, he never really gets to do it anymore. . . . Harming others. . .even less. . .and what power, authority, strength does he have to at present anyways. . . . .
Training members of Plasma and their Pokémon, using the Pokémon they'd liberated for various behind the scenes work like building the castle, abusing people and Pokémon alike, really he found such bliss in it. Yes, it was something he kept quite quiet about or explained away until Neo Plasma--after all, nobody knew of his plans and intentions until he was defeated--but that didn't mean he didn't enjoy it.
Unexpected things. . .hm. he's pretty adventurous so I'm sure he's tried lots of things, but ultimately discarded them as things to do often for one reason or another. Knitting he can't see himself doing, one hand and all.
When N was younger, he actually took care of the human dolls and toys he gave him, since n mostly cared about the pokémon ones and was neglectful towards the human ones. Which was what was intended! But it irked Ghetsis's sense of perfectionism to see them all messed up, so he'd do their hair and dress them and so on just so they were in order and not a messy pile in the corner.
Ghetsis liked visiting dig sites and such, but he also enjoyed personally going on expeditions now and then too! He'd been planning one to the Abyssal Ruins for some time, but it never came to fruition. . . .
Since he was so well researched and did lots of discovering things himself, he’s written academic papers and things of that nature too.  Spreading his knowledge is always great.
Sciences piqued his interests sometimes, although that may not be a surprise. It's probably even less of a surprise that he was interested in experimentation on people and Pokémon--he was usually eager to let Colress do as he pleased as a result.
OH RIGHT ALSO! COLLECTING STUFF!! In particular things relating to or supposedly relating to legendary and mythical Pokémon and extinct ones too and history/legends and other unique things--stuff like feathers from legendary birds or orbs or gems said to strengthen or summon them and stuff like that. . .! He has a raw keystone, but he's not super aware of what it is since Mega Evos only really have recently come into common knowledge and he wasn’t in Kalos to learn about that in particular at the time, so he just thinks it's a cool kalosian rock with a strong life energy.
Tbh idk about any unexpected hobbies for him. . .tbf i also have like. No hobbies of my own. So this is kind of a hard question for me because doing things in your spare time??? I can't even bring myself to do things when o have to do them! Lmao.
He's abandoned a lot of his hobbies and interests. It kinda comes with being old and disabled and depressed and losing your will to live. He's feeling a bit better as of the start of the blog recent--so he's getting a bit active again, but. . .he's still not used to being "incapable" and it gets between him and doing anything for fun.
But hopefully this answer satisfied! And if not, if you're curious about anything in particular, send another ask my way!!

30 of the Punniest best keyboard to learn piano
Correction Appended
Tumblr media
On an album of bittersweet childrens music that she wrote a lot more than ten years back, the lady who arrived being regarded only since the piano teacher made available what, in hindsight, looks like an eerie glimpse of her have long term.
Im relocating away right now to a spot so far away, where nobody knows my identify, she wrote in the lyrics of a music known as Relocating.
When she wrote that song, she was young and vivacious, a piano Trainer and freelance music author who liked Beethoven and jazz, sunsets and river sounds, prolonged walks and anything about Big apple.
On a type of beloved walks, via Central Park in the intense Sunlight of a June working day in 1996, a homeless drifter beat her and made an effort to rape her, leaving her clinging to life. Once the assault, the phrases to her song arrived real. She moved absent, outside of Ny city, outside of her aged daily life, and all but her closest close friends did not know her name. To the remainder of the planet, she was — like the a lot more popular jogger attacked in Central Park seven years before — an anonymous image of the urban nightmare. She was the piano Instructor.
Now, to the tenth anniversary of the assault, she is celebrating what is apparently her entire Restoration from Mind trauma. She's 42, married, with a little child. She's Kyle Kevorkian McCann, the piano Instructor, and she or he hopes to inform her Tale, her way.
Her health practitioner advised her it could take ten years to Get well, and Sunday was that talismanic anniversary. I truly feel my life has become redefined by Central Park, she said several times back, her voice comfortable and hopeful. Prior to park; following park. Will there ever be described as a time After i dont Feel, Oh, Here is the tenth anniversary, the 11th anniversary?
She spoke in her modest ranch household within a wooded subdivision in the Big apple suburb. She sat within a dining place strewn with toys, surrounded by photographs of her cherubic, dark-haired 2-calendar year-old daughter. A Steinway grand filled 50 % the area, and at one particular stage she sat down and performed. Her actively playing was forceful, but she seemed humiliated to Enjoy more than a few bars, and shrugged, as an alternative to answering, when questioned the identify on the piece. She asked that her daughter and her town not be named.

She calls that working day, June 4, 1996, the working day when I was hurt.
youtube
Hers was the primary inside of a string of assaults by a similar person on 4 Women of all ages about eight times. The last victim, Evelyn Alvarez, 65, was crushed to death as she opened her Park Avenue dry-cleansing store, and finally, the assailant, John J. Royster, was convicted of murder and sentenced to lifetime in jail.
Yet the attack on the piano teacher would be the a single men and women seem to remember essentially the most. Element of the fascination needs to do with echoes of your 1989 assault over the Central Park jogger. But What's more, it frightened men and women in a method the assault around the jogger didn't for the reason that its situation ended up so mundane.
It didn't happen inside a distant Element of the park late at nighttime, but close to a popular playground at 3 inside the afternoon. It might have occurred to everyone. The strain was heightened through the thriller from the piano academics identification.
For three times, as police and Physicians tried out to determine who she was, she lay within a coma in her healthcare facility mattress, anonymous. Her dad and mom were being on holiday and her boyfriend, also a musician, was in Europe, on tour. Last but not least, certainly one of her pupils recognized a police sketch and was ready to identify her from the hospital by her fingers, for the reason that her encounter was swollen over and above recognition. The law enforcement didn't launch her identify.
The last thing she remembers about June 4, 1996, is giving a lesson in her studio condominium on West 57th Street, then Placing her extensive hair in the ponytail and going out for the walk. She isn't going to don't forget the attack, Whilst she has listened to the accounts on the law enforcement and prosecutors.
To me its similar to a truth I discovered and memorized, she mentioned. As if I had been a university student at school researching record.
She won't contemplate The person who did it. I might need been indignant for a second, although not for much longer than that, she said. How could I be offended at John Royster? He was declared not crazy, but I suppose by our standards he was.
Dr. Jamshid Ghajar, her health practitioner at Big apple Healthcare facility-Cornell Health-related Center, as it had been recognised in 1996, instructed reporters that she experienced a 10 percent probability of survival. Health professionals had to remove her forehead bone, which was afterwards changed, to generate home for her swelling Mind. When her mom manufactured a community appeal to pray for my daughter, thousands did.
Right after eight days, she came away from a coma, to start with inside of a vegetative state, then in a childlike condition. As she recovered, she slept tiny and talked continuously, at times in gibberish. I used to be obtaining mad at people today every time they didnt reply to these text, she reported.
Like an Alzheimers affected individual, she had small limited-expression memory and would forget site visitors once they still left the space.
Over several months, she needed to relearn the best way to wander, gown, browse and produce. Her boyfriend, Tony Scherr, visited every day to play guitar for her. He encouraged her to Engage in the piano, in opposition to the recommendation of her Bodily therapists, who imagined she could well be disappointed by her inability to Participate in how she the moment had. Mr. Scherr played Beatles duets with her, playing the still left-hand portion although she performed the ideal.
Which was my most effective therapy, she explained.
In August, she moved back property to New Jersey, with her father, an engineer, and mom, a schoolteacher. She frequented old haunts and known as pals, hoping to revive her shattered memory. I used to be incredibly obsessive about remembering, she reported. Any memory decline was to me an indication of abnormality or deficit.
Her therapists imagined her progress was fantastic, but her two sisters protested that she was not the deep thinker she had been.
What bothered her most was that she had dropped the ability to cry, like a faucet within her brain had been turned off. One evening, nine months soon after she was harm, she stayed up late to view the John Grisham Film A Time to Eliminate. Just after her father experienced long gone to mattress, she watched a courtroom scene of Samuel Jacksons character on trial for killing two Gentlemen who had raped his young daughter.
The faucet opened, and also the tears trickled down her cheeks. I considered my dad and mom, my father, and whatever they went through, she explained. Tiny by minor, my feeling returned, my depth of intellect returned.
youtube
Urged by her sisters, she went back to highschool and got a masters degree in tunes education.
Not every little thing went well. She and Mr. Scherr break up up five years after the assault, even though they continue to be friends. She dated other Guys, but she often advised them with regards to the attack immediately — she couldn't enable it, she mentioned — and they under no circumstances named to get a 2nd date.
We've to find you anyone, her Good friend David Phelps, a guitar participant, claimed 4 several years ago, ahead of introducing her to Liam McCann, a pc technician and newbie drummer. For at the time, she did not say something in regards to the attack right up until she bought to be aware of Mr. McCann, and after that when she did, he admired her toughness.
Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani, who experienced normally frequented her at her bedside whilst she was in the healthcare facility, married them in his Occasions Sq. Place of work. She wore a blue dress and pearls. Even though she was pregnant, inside of a burst of creativity, she and her mates recorded When Were being Younger, an album of childrens tunes that she experienced written before the attack, including the music Shifting. Her ex-boyfriend, Mr. Scherr, created the CD. On it, her spouse performs drums and she plays electric powered piano.
Is her lifestyle as it was? Not precisely, nevertheless she's unwilling to attribute the variances to her injuries. Her final two piano college students left her, devoid of calling to elucidate why, she mentioned. She has resumed playing classical tunes, but straightforward parts, since her daughter will not give her time for you to observe. As for jazz, I dont even consider, she reported.
She want to generate additional, experience stranded while in the suburbs, but she is definitely rattled. She tries to be written content with keeping dwelling and caring for her daughter.
Dr. Ghajar, a scientific professor of neurological surgical procedures at what is now termed New York-Presbyterian Healthcare facility/Weill Cornell Medical Middle, who operated on Ms. Kevorkian McCann once the attack, mentioned very last week that her volume of recovery was scarce. Shes basically regular, he reported.
Other professionals, who will be not personally accustomed to Ms. Kevorkian McCanns case, are more cautious.
Regaining the opportunity to Enjoy the piano may well involve an Just about mechanical system, a semiautomatic remember of just what the fingers should do, stated Dr. Yehuda Ben-Yishay, a professor of medical rehabilitation medication at The big apple College School of Drugs. Once Mind-hurt, you happen to be usually brain-hurt, For the remainder of your life, Dr. Ben-Yishay said. There is not any remedy, there is only intensive compensation.
The greater telling Portion of a Restoration, in his view, is psychological, and on that rating he counts Ms. Kevorkian McCanns relationship and baby as a substantial victory.
For her element, the piano teacher understands she has changed, but she has built her peace with it. I was kind of a hyper —— I dont know if I had been a Type A, but I was bold, she says. Why was I so ambitious? I used to be a piano Trainer. I dont understand what the ambition was about. I actually did come back to the person Im alleged to be.

Awrigh, since im a fuckin SLUT for racin' gimmicks, how's about Hanzo being a street racer and uses his superb driving skills in a game of chicken with Talon and he saves everyone with the cost of ONE of his non-hover Chevy Impala's (spn impala)
I am not a person who knows much aboutcars or what cars are nice, so I will simply go that a Chevy Impalais a nice car XD I'll do my best to give a racing fic, but again, notsomething I know much about outside Fast and the Furious  XD;
For anon!Title: Pulse Racing atOne Hundred Miles Rating: PG-13Relationship: Hanzo/Hanzo'sfancy car; Shimada Bros being bros
Those who thought Hanzo was without hisvices in his youth did not know him well. True Genji had the bigger, more flamboyant reputation as an unapologetic playboy partying everynight away like it was his last, but that wasn't to say Hanzo merelysat at home and contemplated poetry and life’s big mysteries.
He had his vices and truth be told, hishad been a bit more dangerous. After all, it wasn't as if streetracing happened at low speeds in private venues.
Hanzo though had always liked thatabout the illegal sport. There was a thrill of excitement to be had every time he took the wheel and felt the hum of an engine below himand the roar of adrenaline in his ears. All eyes were focused aheadon the street and every nerve alight with electricity as the flag wasdropped and tires began to screech. Of course he never made it publicknowledge. He hadn't even told Genji of what he did in the eveninghours.
All that his family knew was he he hada particular love for rather expense sports cars. Being the son of ayakuza crime boss had allowed him to indulge in keeping a smallpersonal collection of cars, many of them illegally modified to befaster and more durable for racing. Every single one of them thoughhad been off limit to all but himself, a fact Genji had oftencomplained about.
Back then, Hanzo had merely chided hisbrother on spending his money on women, men, and booze rather than anactual car. Still Genji's need for rides to places and rides homealways gave Hanzo the excuse to jump into one of his vehicles and goout and get a few thrills before showing up.
Most of the cars though had since beensold, although one vehicle, his darling Chevy SPN Impala, he stillmaintained. It had been with great reluctance at the Overwatchmeeting he had put forth that he had the vehicle at all for a missionin Japan and that he would be more than willing to drive.
He hadn't expected to have to comeclean with his past though.
“This car is illegal isn't it?”Genji commented from where he sat in the passenger side, head turnedtowards Hanzo.
“Under the hood yes,” Hanzomurmured tersely, “But that is of little importance rightnow,”“You've had this car since I was twenty-one. Younever once let me ride in it,” Genji's shoulders hunched as hecrossed his arms over his chest, “And you said I was the disobedient son, all these years, and here you are in a clearlychanged car. I feel a little offended brother,”“Not nowGenji. We have a mission,” Hanzo growled out, hands gripping thesteering wheel.
“You were street racing weren't you?”Genji asked, the accusation clear in his tone.Hanzo justscowled, keeping his eyes on the road as they moved along, refrainingfrom answering Genji. He was never going to fess up to that. Genjiwould never let him hear the end of it despite the fact there werefar larger and more terrible crimes wrought against him. Attemptingto murder him was fine and good and forgivable, but withholdingsecrets during their youth was a crime which required the punishmentof ceaseless taunting and snide comments until the next little secretcame out.
“That explains why it always took youan hour to come pick me up,” Genji drawled, “My anija was offracing about like he was in Fast and Furious Two,”“No onewatches those movies,” Hanzo growled out, “All you are doing isadmitting you watch trash,”“And you street race,” Genjishot back.
“And you are an insufferable pain!”Hanzo retorted from between clenched teeth.“And youmurdered me,” Genji said, leaning forward just a bit more, shoulders tensed. That single sentence killed any responseHanzo was about to lash back with and he fell again to silence, gripping the wheel. Neither of them were speaking now and the onlysound was the hum of few hover cars sliding by around them and thetraffic above moving. With most vehicles now and days being up in theair, those that still ran on four wheels honestly got around a lotfaster due to the reduction in traffic. Those vehicles still groundbound were often just ignored and the street racing scene had onlygotten more popular because of it.
It also made it far more easier forsyndicate groups like Talon to move things around below the city.Hanzo's gaze flicked to the side as an all black vehicle pulled upbeside his own car as he sat at a red light and it gave a loud rev ofits engine. Hanzo's hands twitched and he could feel Genji's gaze boring into the side of his head as if daring him to take thechallenge.
Hanzo glanced to the vehicle, frowninga bit at the tinted windows. He reached to press a few keys on thedash to bring up the holographic display, “Keiko, scan othervehicle,” He murmured.“You named the AI Keiko? I am soashamed of your lack of imagination,” Genji commented.
The elder Shimada ignored his brother'scomment, eyes fixed on the display before it chimed, loading up theschematics, “Car is modified but does not have a Japanese streetprix chip embedded. No license place. Unknown emblem detected,”The screen flickered and Hanzo felt himself stiffen as a decal of theTalon symbol was uploaded. The car beside them revved again. A flickof his gaze upwards to the light saw the countdown to when it turnedgreen was now about to hit the ten second mark. Hanzo gripped thesteering wheel tight and beside him he heard the click of a seat beltand the grumbles of his brother.
Hanzo pressed the gas pedal down justas the light hit green, the vehicle shooting forward with a scream ofrubber on asphalt. Beside him, the other vehicle sprung forward andsoon both vehicles were hurtling forward.
Genji was gripping tight onto the sidesof his seat as Hanzo floored it, both hands on the wheel as hetook the first turn, drifting flawlessly around the bend. The othercar waffled on the turn a bit, falling behind as Hanzo sped ahead. The next turn though, it seemed his opponent had decided to changethe nature of the race, coming in a bit closer to slam against theside of the Impala and try and force them off the road.
“Does this usually happen in yourraces?! People try to kill you or is it just everyone knows you are adick?!” Genji shouted, now gripping the dash tight, fingers digginginto the frame.“Its called being a sore loser,” Hanzogrowled back, “Hold on,”
“I already am holding on how-”Genji began only to be thrown back against his seat as Hanzo put onthe gas, surging them forward down a long road.Hanzo tried toignore the rents left in the dash by Genji's hands. He tried really, but still a part of him cried out in mild despair internally. It wasjust another mark he was going to have to pay to get cleaned uplater. The dents and scratches on the side of the Impala from thefirst hit were already going to be bad enough. The Talonvehicle was hot on their trail even as Hanzo swerved and took sharpturns without warning, doing his best to try to lose them in the mazeof Tokoyo's long forgotten underbelly. Genji was clinging to his seatas if he was seeing his life once more flash before his eyes as thecar twisted and turned, speeding through red lights to the blaringhorns of angry drivers. “They are a tenacious one, that isfor sure,” Hanzo growled out as he took another series of sharpturns, pulling into a u-turn and moving to drift into a one waystreet.Genji still had his death gri on the edge of his seat, although his head was tilted up towards the rear view mirror, “Lookslike you finally lost them so you can stop driving like amaniac,”“It is not driving like a maniac. I was incomplete control the entire-” Hanzo's words trailed up as the dimglow of headlights appeared ahead, approaching fast.Everynerve in Hanzo's body was alight and he knew, even before the on boardcomputer chimed in the unmarked vehicle from before was approachingfrom ahead. He didn't take his hands off the wheel as he slammed thegas down, hunching forward, “When I say bail, throw yourself outthe door,”Genji was staring hard at him before letting outa grumble and moving to slide the seat belt up and brace himselfagainst the door, “If I wasn't made of metal mostly, I wouldbelieve you were trying to kill me again,”Hanzo let out asnort as he kept his foot on the gas, eyes fixed on those glowingorbs of light even as the speedometer clicked slowly up. One hand wasat his seat belt, clicking it off even as he swallowed the lump inhis throat.
He was really going to miss this car.
“Bail!” Hanzo yelled beforethrowing open his door and diving out. Genji followed suit, although he was able to tuck into a roll quickly and come up on hisfeet due to his enhanced reflexes, one hand on his sword even as heturned to where the Impala raced onward. The Talon vehicles tiresshrieked as they tried to slow down and swerve out of the way but onthe narrow street there was no where to go, no way to avoid theImpala as it collided head first with them. The roar of the explosionhit first as fire flared up from the battered in fronts. The entirefront of the car was smashed in and the vehicle had nearly flippedbackwards into the air.
There was no movement from within thecrash, only the crackle of fire and rising smoke and the lump inHanzo's throat as he eyed the remains of what once his favoritecar. He rose shakily to his feet, wincing as he felt theslight burn of road rash already forming on his left arm. A glanceover to Genji showed he was fine and already coming over with a terseset to his form but one born more of worry than any irritation.“Youokay anija?”
“Been better,” Hanzo grumbled, casting one last mournful look over the wreckage, “I will miss thatcar,”“You are one of the few men I know who cares moreabout a car than his own neck,” Genji let out a sigh as he clappeda hand on Hanzo's shoulder, “No offense though, anija, but nexttime there is a driving mission, I'll take the wheel,”Hanzoallowed himself a quirk of a smile and a curt nod, “Fine but Iexpect only the best,”“I'm going to drive like an oldgrandma, follow all the rules and wait my five seconds at every stopsign after this night,” Genji returned with a shake of his head. This time Hanzo let out a slight laugh, shaking his head.
“If you say so, Genji. If you sayso,”
