Wax Idols Announce Indefinite Hiatus
“I’m no soothsayer—I don’t know what the future holds—but for now, we say goodbye”
Oakland post-punk band Wax Idols have announced an indefinite hiatus. Founder and frontperson Hether Fortune announced on social media that the group’s scheduled tour has been canceled “due to personal reasons” and that refunds will be issued. She writes, “I’m no soothsayer—I don’t know what the future holds—but for now, we say goodbye.” Read the full statement below.
Wax Idols’ last album, Happy Ending, arrived earlier this year. Hether Fortune will perform a solo set featuring “new solo material” at Brooklyn venue Elsewhere on August 31. She will also perform a solo set at this year’s Basilica Soundscape.
