hmmmm voy s7 e12 repentance ....hmmmm not sure how i feel about the narrative that a murderer turns out to just be mentally ill and once he's "healed" he experiences guilt and is no longer a danger to society but i dont really have the words to fully articulate why this isn't sitting right with me?
and then at the very end of the episode the other death row inmate who was like "my race has a higher chance of getting convicted and sent to death and makes up a larger percentage of the prison complex in this sector" is just fully made out to be the "bad" guy???????????
WHAT is the moral trying to be made here. i think there's commentary about death sentence in here and an attempt to humanize people who have committed crimes in situations beyond their control- which i can appreciate. but they mixed apples and oranges and missed the mark altogether?????
