I have some thoughts that Vanitas and Jeanne relationship could go worse. It's true that Vanitas started it and played with her. Now Jeanne sees him as her prey and it's worriying too. She doesn't think that he may be not comfortable or that he could reject her. She seems to think that it's ok to push him until he's her. Also in the bonus, she's about to take him with her while he's drunk (while he was hidding from her before) I feel that their next meeting will not go well. what do you think?

First and foremost, I do think that Jeanne is genuinely in love with Vanitas.

If Veronica and Marquis Machina’s fling is anything to go by, romantic and sexual relationships between vampires are *very* tied to blood drinking in the world of VnC— I think Jeanne’s desire to drink Vani’s blood has gone from a hunger/desire for prey- type thing to a romantic/sexual- type thing. I don’t think Jeanne sees Vani as prey, she just sees blood drinking between romantic partners as a romantic/sexual act.

Ofc we don’t really know where Jeanne will go with this desire. During chapter 45 she seems very willing to keep her love for Vani under wraps; but then, like you said, in the 51.5 omake she tries to take a drunk Vani back to her room. However... chapter 51.5 is not canon. I personally believe that Jeanne’s actions in the chapter are more of a “what’s going on in Jeanne’s head”/ “what Jeanne would do in this non-canon no- consequences situation” thing.

In Chapter 45, Jeanne states that her love for Vanitas and desire to drink his blood worries her. She understands that Vanitas has stated that he’d never fall for the type of person who would ever love him. She doesn’t want Vanitas to notice her feelings, and I’m pretty sure she just wants to keep it at a friends with benefits level (benefits including blood drinking, kissing, and also murder). Jeanne fully believes that Vanitas does not love her back.

On Vani’s side of the equation... I don’t think Vanitas is hiding from Jeanne in the omake because he’s scared of her, but rather because he wants to avoid any sort of emotional encounter or anything that would make him more aware of his love for her. He’s is in love with Jeanne, but doesn’t want to acknowledge this love. Because Vanitas fully believes that Jeanne could never fall for him.

Vanitas and Jeanne’s next meeting... hmm... I guess whatever happens will depend on the circumstances. Vanitas will probably want to avoid Jeanne and ignore his feelings for her (to little avail), while Jeanne will probably try to hide her feelings for Vanitas (also to little avail). They could easily end up in some sort of mutual pining situation where they both want more from their relationship but believe more is impossible due to the other person’s feelings. And then,,, of course,,, the cherry on top is that Vanitas has promised to kill Jeanne if she ever gets out of control...

Ofc it’s also possible that my judgement is clouded by my love for Jeanne and I’m 100% wrong about this. Please take everything here with a grain of salt!

I have no real input for VnC’s new chapter (51.5) other than I need to send the birthdays to a friend who enjoys astrology for her to analyze and potentially get hype about reading VnC, lmao.
