Saigon, Vietnam
I honestly had never considered travelling to Vietnam. To be frank, I really knew nothing about it. In September of 2022, I found a round trip ticket for $1000, and bought it with no further thought.
I honestly had never considered travelling to Vietnam. To be frank, I really knew nothing about it. In September of 2022 I found a round trip ticket for $1000, so I bought it with no further thought. The ticket was bought with my roommate at the time, and she planned on doing the 2-month trip though Southeast Asia with me. We took off in May to land in Saigon, travel north through Vietnam, fly to…

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
today started slow (had to catch up on some sleep) and breakfast was kind of hard to find?! but we stumbled coffeeless and hungry into delicious donuts and iced tea and coffee.
next we wandered around the city some more, found some markets and other cute shops. finally we found these incredible cathedrals and this beautiful 150 year old post office. i think i could have stood in that building for hours admiring it's design and worldly bustle. before heading on our way to find lunch we posted post cards home and took one last look into it's wonderful vaulted ceilings.
next was lunch (well late lunch). my fam has been kind of hard to find food with they have been picky and a bit sooky (maybe hangry) when looking for options and making decisions. if it were up to me i would stop at the first place that smelt good. but alas it is not up to me. we finally found juice, egg rolls and sticky rice and then headed back to the hotel for a rest before the exciting food filled evening ahead!!
food is one of my favourite parts about traveling and tonight we got to explore some street food with a local guide and a few other tourists. it's weird to say ik but i actually love meeting other tourists overseas like it's such a wonderful experience! meeting like minded people with a passion for adventure and good food! I also love meeting locals! I love learning and listening to a new way of life, it's just wonderful! so safe to say we ended the day on some of the tastiest food I've ever eaten, full bellies and a few more friends!
