Veiled Vanguard 🎭
Tumblr media
Obihiro Division Veiled Vanguard is the group featuring horse breeder and fugitive Hisoka Tetsumasu, the waiter ("secretly" super hero) Daiki Kamiyama, and the butler Jack Verrill.
The group's color is a yellow ochre, it's color meant to be both optimistic but also a warning.
The group's symbol is a spiral-pinwheel design, meant to represent a peaceful cycle. All members have this symbol either printed or engraved onto their clothing.
The group's hand sign is for the thumb to curve in while the pointer and remaining fingers create a ovular shape to mimic a mask.
The team's leader Hisoka was singled out by Chuohku for an unknown reason, but most likely for all the crimes he had committed and managed to avoid punishment for. For that reason he resorted to recruiting his team members in a moment of panic.
This is a canon divergent Hypnosis Mic blog run by @nugsters. Character art done by me will be tagged with "nugsters art." Character-specific posts will be tagged appropriately with their names. This blog is completely for fun so postings will be irregular. Interactions and questions are encouraged!

Shuu’s Thoughts on Obihiro Division
Tumblr media
Hisoka Tetsumasu
“Kyah! Look out, its prince charming coming in on his pretty horse! Just kidding! But could you imagine if this guy got like a pretty boy makeover? He probably couldn’t pull if off, but it would be funny to see him transform into some sort of prince! Anyways, this is the guy Jack has his eyes on right? I’m pretty sure it’s like, sadistic interest, but who knows what he’s really thinking. I hope this guy is just okay in the end!”
Daiki Kamiyama
“Dai-chan can have his cute moments. Following me around like a puppy, calling me ‘master’ like I’m some sort of great teacher, and always asking for my help… He’s like a little brother hehe. I just wish he would be more careful! I mean, I should have known he would get into trouble when our first meeting was in a snowstorm of all places! Poor boy was turning blue by the time Jack and I found him. Now I have to de-escalate situations for him… Or save him. Heck, last time I saw him was for that case! I had to shield him from getting stabbed! Thankfully Jack swooped in and beat up all the bad guys, but I couldn’t hear the end of Dai-chan’s crying in between Jack’s lecturing. It was… A lot…”
Jack Verrill
“My situation with Jack is kinda… Complicated. I see him a lot, as a part of Jack being Dai-chan’s butler. But he… Well… He hired me to spy on some person. I wish I could say who, but that would break our agreement so I guess I can’t say anything more apart from him ending our deal all the sudden. Then again, who would imagine to see that guy in the D.R.B.? Neither of us expected it!”
“That was the end for Jack, so I just got paid and shooed away like some floozy. I wish I could have done more, but Toshiaki sensei recommended I drop it. But hey, wanna know something? I’ve been digging into Jack and my gut was right. There’s something up with him! But I’m not telling until we have to fight against each other. He’s already someone who’s really good at poking people’s buttons, his secret is my trump card!”
Veiled Vanguard
“The name makes sense for Dai-chan and his butler, but what does the horse himbo have to hide? If I already know so much about the other two, I should try looking into the leader… What sort of scandalous secrets could he have? Oooh, I can’t wait to find out~!”

Mina's Thoughts on Obihiro Division
Tumblr media
Hisoka Tetsumasu
"I know next to nothing about this man, save that he's a horse breeder on a farm. And like I said with Asato-kun from Toyama, the sun and I don't agree with each other, unfortunately. You'll have to ask Elliot about him."
Daiki Kamiyama
"Ugh, this young boy. I, unfortunately, ran into him one night while I was looking for "something" to eat. I spotted a thug poaching an old lady's purse, so I stepped in and stopped him. Not surprisingly, the old lady ran off in fear and sight of me, but I wasn't expecting her scream to alert anyone nearby. Usually, I try to survey the area before I feed on anyone so I don't happen to get caught unaware. Apparently, I didn't do such a good job, because out of nowhere, this kid appeared pretending to be some sort of "superhero" or something."
"When he saw me, he was in shock. Not surprising, since I tend to look like something out of horror story. I fled before he could do anything... not that he could do anything, mind you. I thought that would be the last time I ever saw of him. Clearly, I was wrong..."
Jack Verrill
"I saw this guy with that young boy after I escaped. He was with the police, trying to calm him down. ...I've never seen him before, obviously. Butlers and such, those are only suited for rich families, which, I guess, should tell me something about that kid."
Veiled Vanguard
"I don't have anything to say about that horse breeder or that butler. Like I said, I know next to nothing about them. ...But that kid. He seems to think of me and my siblings as... what did he call us, 'villains'? ...Ha. And pray tell, what exactly makes you such an expert on what a 'villain' is, child?"
...
"You think I (we) chose to be like this, you little brat? You think I chose to be some sort of... abomination? You think I like having to suck blood from people to survive? You think I like having to use a damn umbrella to shield myself from the fucking sun? You think I like having people scared of me?! Well, guess what? I DON'T like it! I didn't ask for any of this! None of us did! But we have to play with cards we're fucking dealt with."
"...And who exactly gave you the right to fucking judge, kid? You, who is born in the lap of luxury with your little bit of wealth, your prestige and your damn butler. You play pretend like some fucking chuunibyou, acting like a damn 'superhero' and judge me and my siblings for being different. Calling us 'villains'! ...Well guess right, brat: here's your fucking chance! You want to play at being a 'hero'? You'll get your chance when we meet at the D.R.B. I'll show you just how 'super' you really are when I bleed you and your fucking teammates dry!!"

Alexis's Thoughts on Obihiro Division
Tumblr media
Hisoka Tetsumasu
"A horse breeder... at first glance, anyway. After reading up on his file, I learned that this man used to be a black market dealer who dealt in illegal weapons, including illegal Hypnosis Microphones. Apparently, it was the enactment of the H-Era that put an end to his work and forced him to into hiding. ...I wonder if this is the reason for his involvement in the Division Rap Battle. Did Chuohku manage to find out about him? ...What am I saying? Of course they did. If I was able to locate this information, it's no doubt the government was able to. If he really wanted to hide his identity, he should have taken steps to changing more than just his appearance."
Daiki Kamiyama
"...Ha. Is it bad to say I see a lot of myself inside this young man? He reminds me much of myself when I was a child. I always used to pretend to be a super agent just like him. It was even worse when I found out my father was a CIA agent. It took actually becoming an agent for me to find out its nothing like what you hear in stories, on T.V., or on the radio. It's very different."
"Still, far be it for me to destroy this young boy's dreams. ...But I'll need to talk to him about following me everywhere when I do surveillance work. He may think he's sneaky and cunning, but he needs a lot of work. ...Maybe in my off time, I'll train him. ...Maybe."
Jack Verrill
"...This man... why do I feel like I know him from somewhere? He doesn't work for any American agency, at least none that I know of. But still, I have seen his face before. Perhaps on a mission, or on a file somewhere. ...Speaking of files, I normally have little to no trouble at all accessing a person's file, no matter how encrypted they may be."
"...So why was his file so hard to obtain? And why is so much information either missing or scrambled? It's obvious that this man is no mere butler. No matter how he poised he may seem, I know that there is more to him than meets the eye. For now, I've sent his file back to the CIA in hopes that they can make sense of it. This man... he's hiding something. And if it's something that gets in the way of my mission, I need to find out and take care of it, ASAP..."
Veiled Vanguard
"I believe this team only formed due to Hisoka's past, which the government is using as leverage to get him to participate. How Daiki and his butler fit into this, is, as of right now, currently unknown. The likelihood of us facing them is slim, but... should we do face them, I wouldn't say 'no'. Why? Because I have a whole list of questions to ask to Mr. Verrill. Like, 'who he is', and 'why is so much of your file unknown?'"

Kai's Thoughts on Obihiro Division
Tumblr media
Hisoka Tetsumasu
"A horse breeder, if I'm not mistaken. I think my wife mentioned seeing him on the Toyama farm once or twice. Me, you all know I don't really have an interest in that stuff, so I can't recall seeing him or not. ...Funny though, my wife says she's certain she's seen him before. Like before, in years past. I can't recall seeing him before, but... well, my memory's never been the best when it comes to things outside of my family and music..."
Daiki Kamiyama
"This kid... Where have I heard his last name before? ...Oh yeah. The Kamiyamas. Apparently, they're a rich family with a lot of influence. If that's the case, I have to wonder if he's from the neighboring city of Aoyama. That place is filled with so many bigwigs and uppity people, it's not even funny. He doesn't seem like any of them, though."
"In fact, Zakari tells me this kid makes a living as a... "Superhero?" Apparently, he does what Zakari does, but likes to fight crime while he's at it. ...Yeah, I have no comment on that. I just told Zakari, if he and him happen to get arrested doing something illegal, I don't know either of them."
Jack Verrill
"Apparently, this is the butler to the young Kamiyama boy. ...I'm still holding on that he's from Aoyama or somewhere similar. Other than that, I know next to nothing about him. He seems poised, dignified and reliable. Everything a butler should be, I guess."
Veiled Vanguard
"This team seems to be centered more around that young Kamiyama boy then the horse breeder. I have to wander why he's the leader of this team. Is it just for appearances' sake? Or is there more to that man than meets the eye? In any case, I'm not entirely sure what to make of them yet. I guess I'll just have to keep an eye on them and see what they have."

Kensaku’s Thoughts on Obihiro Division
Tumblr media
Hisoka Tetsumasu
“So this was the guy just inhaling the painkillers I was delivering last year! It wasn’t uncommon for Ms. Rikiya to order different drugs to help whenever workers got injured, but to think most of last year's supplies went to helping this guy recover is pretty nice to know? Helps ease the worry that Asato-kun’s grandma might have been a huge drug addict haha. Still, it is nice to see everything the Rikiya family did get this guy back on his feet and pursue his passions. Let’s just hope his job helps him be more… Financially stable.”
Daiki Kamiyama
“We only got to meet him briefly, but this kid seems like fun! He's a giant for his age, but I guess that comes from his old man. Speaking of him, CEO of the Elysium Hotel? That's a crazy amount of power and money for one dad, much less a family! I only have to wonder why little Daiki-kun is adamant about breaking away from them. Being born into a family like that is something so many people dream of."
Jack Verrill
“Those eyes…They look…? S-Sorry, they're very uh, purple. Yeah. Still, a butler? Pfft, the title alone is hilarious. I'm guessing he's with Daiki-kun, keeping watch over the dear young master. It's admirable to stay so dedicated to serving one person. I don't think I could really give up my whole life to do that for a kid… Speaking of which, do you think he's a stickler about jokes? Maybe as a butler, he'd appreciate more clean jokes."
Veiled Vanguard
“It’s comforting that I’m not the only guy in his thirties competing when their team leader looks like he’s pushing forty already! I kid… But it’s nice to see a team that isn’t a group of killers or a team of well… Rude people putting it nicely. It’s refreshing! But it does feel dull after seeing so many exciting teams. Who knows though, they could be hiding some wild secrets. Aside from Daiki-kun’s cute little hero deal.”

Liliana is really fucking rich talking about how the Ruby Vanguard are necessary cause "they will hunt us down" as though Ruidusborn haven't e on Exandria for all of recorded history before the Ruby Vanguard turned them into walking bombs.
"We'll be free" Are the Ruidusborn who are mind controlled into attacking their own friends and allies "free"? Will killing the gods "free" those Ruidusborn? You really think an empire built on mind control will let anyone live free once the only threat to their reign is gone? The bormodos are untouched by the gods under the veil of Predathos. Ask them how free they feel.

Apologies, but can you elaborate on what you meant with
"As of late, the banner of those wronged by the gods has shifted from any of Bells Hells to those of Aeor, and that is a bad sign in a D&D campaign. If you need to set aside the PCs in order to rely on NPCs who have not shown up in the current narrative? You are clinging to a melting iceberg, my man."
Sure, so...among the people who are advocating that the Only Good And True Solution is for Bells Hells to kill the gods (a position that has already required frantic backpedaling from "what if the Vanguard is good" due to the murders), the poster children for "those wronged by the gods" are now "the people of Aeor."
Now. I do not deny that the gods destroyed Aeor. I think if you are holding the gods to the standard of "They should have prevented Calamity", and the two things they've banded together about have specifically been "stop Predathos" and "destroy Aeor" and Aeorians were creating a god-killing weapon the plans of which are being used now in the Predathos plot, I think it's worth considering whether you believe that self-defense is inherently unjust if your reason is "but i really wanna fucking kill them" but that's a whole other discussion.
The point at hand is that as a rule, in a D&D game, the enemies of your D&D party are, uh, going to be the enemies in the story. And so:
Chetney: wronged by some random werewolf and by a dude named Drixlitch; killed by Otohan, a Vanguard general
Laudna: wronged by and killed by Delilah Briarwood; killed by Otohan, a Vanguard general
FCG: arguably, made to be an unwitting killing machine by Aeor. Sacrificed himself when the unwitting killing machine abilities took over, depriving a nearly TPK-ed party of their healer; took themself out to kill the Vanguard general (Otohan) that was going to kill all of them.
Fearne: specifically designed to be Ruidusborn by Zathuda, working with the Vanguard; Zathuda's relationship with her mother has some really worrying veiled portions re: how consensual it all was while we're at it. Killed by Otohan, a Vanguard general
Imogen: Honestly Predathos's relationship with the Ruidusborn seems rather predatory and manipulative but that's another conversation; abandoned by and generally treated like a morality pet by her mother, a Vanguard general. Otohan would have killed her too, regardless of her Ruidusborn status.
Orym: Father and husband permanently killed by Otohan, a Vanguard general. Killed by Otohan, a Vanguard general.
Ashton: nearly blown up/sent to a faraway desert and orphaned by elemental titan-worshiping parents; nearly killed by magic possessed by or committed by Jiana Hexum, who was at minimum collaborating with the Ruby Vanguard on imports.
In case you noticed, unless you hold the gods accountable for all bad things happening...none of them have been wronged by the gods. They have, at best, been ignored by the gods (which was earlier on an argument against the gods but people gave that up, on account of it being dumb as dogshit stupid). On the other hand, man, sure feels like that Ruby Vanguard did a whole bunch of killing. If you have to ask the viewers to ignore the feelings of the main PCs in favor of the [dead, can't disagree with you although uh, FCG sure did] people of Aeor*...you have, quite literally, lost the plot.
*You know what's interesting? There's people stuck in stasis bubbles in Aeor, and there's a growing number of Aeormatons, too. If the issue is "Aeor was an incalculable loss" why is your focus "we should plunder the Malleus Factorum - something that was controversial and caused massive unrest within Aeor itself even it its time - and awaken the god-eater, which had long been sealed by the time of Aeor" and not "holy shit we could seek out and interview and assist the Aeormatons and revive a bunch of Aeorians!" If your issue with the Calamity was "there was an incalculable loss of life" why is your solution "create a murder cult"? If your issue with Vasselheim is "they are hiding crucial information about Ruidus and they are colonizing small towns in central Issylra" why is your murder cult murdering all the moon researchers who also worked against Vasselheim and why are you allying with the empire that took over the entire moon and wants to do the same to Exandria? If the issue is "the gods have too much power and use the power of others" why is Predathos any different, and frankly, Ludinus looks pretty fucking fishy too.

198 - Plume as every class.
Musings on the choices below.
Vanguard: This one's just Plume. You know this one.
Guard: I struggled a bit to find a good subclass here. A lot of them are kinda too fancy for her. Could've gone with Dreadnought, since that's just souped-up Charger, but went with Liberator because it's interesting. Her weapon is just a Monster Hunter Gunlance. During her charge-up time she sharpens and reloads the thing and waits for Wyvernfire to come off cooldown and also recovers her stamina. She starts her skill with several big aoe blasts and then goes into regular sweeps and slams. Plume's not very strong, so I took her coat away to lighten the load a bit.
Defender: Plume's not really suited to this class. I thought about Duelist, since she's already in the "stat stick" subclass of Vanguard, but it didn't feel right. I chose Protector because it's very plain and Plume's very plain. Double up the coat, put a lil guard on the halberd and that's good enough.
Sniper: There were obvious picks in Marksman (default) and Deadeye (great eyesight makes for good long range), but I didn't have any good ideas for Marksman and Deadeye felt too fancy again. Besieger would also play into the long range aspect, but I didn't feel it. In the end I went with Flinger because I liked the idea of her throwing explosive darts.
Caster: The "physical" jobs were easy. Plume can swing a weapon around just fine, but for the "magical" stuff I had to think a bit. I played into Plume's patience with Mystic. (That was also a point for Liberator) She knows to bide her time to find the right spot to strike. I went for a very different outfit base for the green classes, because I wanted something lighter. Mystic Casters tend to wear like "high society" clothes anyway for the most part. Iris and Ebenholz come to mind. I like the look for Plume; It's like a discrete bodyguard at a party. The staff keeps parts of her halberd and the three-pronged design is just an obvious thing for Mystic. The halberd blade can be the fourth point if she gets that module. The stored casts have an arrow-like appearance, because it felt nice. Another subclass I considered was Phalanx, but I went with this. Phalanx was too "hit take-y".
Medic: Medic. This is the class Plume's the least-suited for. I think the extent of her medical knowledge is enough for her to apply first aid and field medicine stuff, not be an actual Medic. But I also think that if you handed her a light crossbow with healing bolts prepared that she could handle that just fine. She looks quite happy here, which is a bit out of character. Not that she's never happy, she just tends to have a more subdued expression. That's because my basis for her pose is the "Think fast!" thingy. It made me laugh.
Bard: She could've been mostly any kind of supporter, aside from Artificer I'd say. The most "basic" type is probably Decel-Binder, but I only base this on the fact that that's our only 3-star type. She's not big on arts. But you don't need arts to sing. Plume's from Laterano aka "I can't believe it's not Catholic" so there's no way she didn't receive some kind of musical education. Probably some choir singing. I think it's a nice image, Plume sitting there, playing her bass and singing a little song. I like it. I also wanted to draw her in an outfit like this too. The specifics of the dress and the veil all play to my tastes.
Specialist: This could've been Executor too. It was either that or Ambusher, both work. Even when she's beaten and broken, Plume will keep defending you to the bitter end. You should meet her devotion in kind.

The further along I get in these reviews, the more you're gonna see Hisoka just digging his own grave. The amount of shame and regret he feels is so great, he's screaming about wanting to just bury himself alive lol.

Incomplete character correlation diagram! Until I finish the fourth team, which yeah, their color is gonna be gray, this is going to be a WIP. But with three fucking teams and a secondary Chuohku team, I gotta start posting now. (´∀`;)
I would expound on all the relationships, but I'm gonna hold that for when I finally debut my last team. If you're curious, do check out my old chart in the link HERE and HERE. Shows the detailed dynamics between my @toyama-division and @suginami-division teams, since they're direct rivals. :^)

Maki’s Thoughts on Obihiro Division
Tumblr media
Hisoka Tetsumasu
“I don’t know much about this man, but it says he’s a horse breeder correct? Could it be possible he’s involved in the Ban’ei racing? I mean, it’s a style of racing that’s only gaining popularity in the gambling scene as of late. It’s a unique style too, many that the youth aren’t too aware of! You see, rather than just putting the horses on a track with a jockey, they are instead given large iron sled which the horse and rider must use to race down a series of obstacles. It’s origins lie in the celebration of work horses in the Hokkaido area, particularly in agricultural festivals. The sport got very popular in the Meiji Era, that cities started to hold official racing events. And seeing he’s the leader representing Obihiro city, the city where they regularly hold those race it would only make sense he would be involved… Or maybe I’m rushing to assumptions? Either way, he seems like a respectable man. I’d love to have a conversation about his work, no matter if he’s involved in my subject of interest or not.”
Daiki Kamiyama
“The detective speaks fondly of this one. Personally I… Well, I don’t feel as on edge with how tall he is, compared to others his age. The younger ones especially… It’s strange how my brain has conditioned my temperament to be. Enough about me though. He seems… Fine. Just fine. I can’t really say anything this little posh Kamiyama boy.”
Jack Verrill
“A foreigner? Well, I suppose I should have noticed from the one from before... He looked like he was half Japanese. It must be nice to have someone at your beck and call, always running around to do whatever you need. It does feel a little stereotypical though… What, with a young scion from England having a butler? Wouldn’t be surprised if he is hiding secrets too. Don’t think I don’t know about the Kamiyama family, especially the former IRO Director. Working as a part of that family, especially so close? No doubt he knows something about the Party of Words and what exactly led to their coup. Picking at his brain would be fun, I believe.”
Veiled Vanguard
“It’s an interesting choice in name: Veiled Vanguard. What sort of things do they have hidden? Apart from the second member’s choice in ‘secret’ pursuits. No matter. I will simply state that if we cross paths, I look forward to getting to know these men a little better. Particularly the leader and the butler.”

Elliot's Thoughts on Obihiro Division
Tumblr media
Hisoka Tetsumasu
"Hisoka-san? Oh, I met him when my class took a surprise field trip to his ranch in Obihiro. I veered away from the group for a bit to get away from some of the bullies who were making fun of me. Saying things like, 'I was returning home or something.' Truthfully, their insults didn't hurt as bad as it sounded. I actually didn't mind being surrounded by animals. If I wasn't so interested in medicine, I'd probably like to become a farmer. But being a veterinarian is my primary goal right now."
"Anyway, after I ventured away from the group, I decided to visit the stables where the horses were located. And... well, you know me. When I'm around an animal, I can't help but have a conversation with it. I was talking with one of the horses when Hisoka-san spotted me. He was wondering how I got so good at understanding horses. I, uh... I sorta told him that I could speak to animals, but... I could tell he didn't believe me. Not that I blame him. If I weren't able to do it, I don't think I'd believe it myself if someone said they could converse with animals."
"Besides that, he helped me out with some of my class assignments and was nice. Before I left though, he admitted he was curious about what exactly the horse and I spoke about. I didn't tell everything since the horse, which I later found out was named 'Milo', asked me not to reveal a lot, but I told him about what the horse thought about its owner, who... well, I'll speak about him in a minute..."
Daiki Kamiyama
*Sighs* "Yes, this is the boy, whom I later found out is named Daiki-kun, who owns that horse, Milo. Apparently, he was listening in when Hisoka-san asked me what Milo and I were talking about. He thinks that I told Hisoka-san that Milo thinks he is annoying, which is not at all what I said! Milo thinks Daiki-kun is quite nice, but considers some of his mannerisms to be annoying! He likes Daiki-kun, but can get a bit irked when Daiki-kun is being loud for some reason."
"I tried to explain that it was just a misunderstanding, but Daiki-kun wouldn't listen. Now, he thinks that I'm trying to steal Milo from him! He even called me an 'evildoer!' Now I'm too scared to go back to the ranch because I may run into him again!" *Sighs* "And I really wanted to speak to Milo and the other horses again..."
Jack Verrill
"I haven't met Jack-san, unfortunately. But I heard he serves Daiki-kun as his personal butler, which was a shock to find out! I guess that means Daiki-kun is quite rich, or comes from a rich family. I've never heard of them, but I'll have to be sure to research them. Hopefully finding out more about them will help me make up with Daiki-kun. ...I hope."
Veiled Vanguard
"This team... it doesn't exactly fill me with ease. I mean, I like Hisoka-san. He seems nice enough. And Jack-san seems... okay. But Daiki-kun... it makes me sad that he thinks I'm an... 'evildoer'. Especially when I wasn't at all trying to do anything mean!" *Sighs* "I wonder if this is how Yorii-kun feels at times. I just hope he'll give me a chance to explain at the D.R.B. I really don't want us to be enemies."

Diệu's Thoughts on Obihiro Division
Tumblr media
Hisoka Tetsumasu
"Ah, Mr. Horse Breeder. Or so, he'd like to call himself. Honestly, the Triad has had tabs on him since his previous work with ENAN. ...What, surprised I know about that? You vastly underestimate the Triad's information network. How else do you think so many Japanese weapons ended up in Hong Kong? It's actually because of his group that we were one of the first to get our hands on a Hypnosis Microphone, albeit an illegal one."
"And not to quote my dear leader, Alexis, Mr. Horse Breeder, but if your intention was to keep a low profile, you really should have done more to keep yourself hidden. Changing up your appearance may fool some people. But unfortunately for you, most of the people in this D.R.B. are not some people."
Daiki Kamiyama
"I'm so proud of Alexis! I never thought she'd actually manage to snag herself a little fanboy! Usually, I'm the one that's popular with children. But I have no problem sharing the love now and then. I'm actually a bit surprised he's shown no interest in me. But then again, he is still just a child. Better to let him live in his imaginary world for a little bit longer."
"Aside from that, I did some digging up on him. Apparently, he's the last child of a famous and prestigious family from the UK. The Kamiyamas, if I'm not mistaken. His brothers have actually purchased some of my jewelry online, I think. Glad to see my work is attracting such a high clientele."
Jack Verrill
"Last but not least, the butler. ...Ha, is that as cliche as it sounds? A butler joining a rap tournament? This D.R.B. just pulls out all kinds, doesn't it? ...Of course, he's not entirely just a butler, are you, Mr. Verrill? Yes, I know you're not entirely what you seem. In fact, it wouldn't entirely be inaccurate to say that you are just like me and my teammates, aren't you? You are here for some other purpose. I've no doubt that you hold some sort of affection for your charge, but at the end of the day, he's just a mission, isn't he?"
"Oh, don't misunderstand. I'm not judging. After all, we all have our own masks to hide. Some more than others. I just want to make sure that our goals and missions don't intersect with each other. As long as you assure that, you've absolutely nothing to worry about from me. I promise."
Veiled Vanguard
"Ha, as I mentioned earlier, this rap tournament is just drawing a wide variety of people to Japan, isn't it? A former black-market dealer, a young heir to a prestigious family, and a butler who is not what he seems to be. Quite a team-up, wouldn't you say? As far as the team, itself, goes, I've no real issue with any of them. ...In fact, if the horse breeder and butler are up for it, I'd like to offer them both a job when this is over. The Triad could always use more people like you in its ranks. Give that a thought and hit me back, if you don't mind."
